  • Wow - where are all you liberals now that this was a FALSE RAPE charge and proven so in a court of law? Common - let's hear all your slanderous, "tolerant" comments this time you pieces of.......

You pukes never seem to amaze me. If you want a European, socialist style government - LEAVE THE US and MOVE to Europe. Take Franken with you - we certainly don't need him here in Minnesota.

  • Al you're the man

  • is the U.S truly that desperate that we continue to use companies like Blackwater, KBR, Halliburton, etc.??

We fight our "wars" employing these shadowy, underhanded companies.

    It's sickening.

  • Thank You!!! Sentor Franken, you make me believe in America again, But you need to pas law that go after the DA's that are putting innocent men behind bars, we need to be able to sue the DA's and send them to prison also for the LIVES they have destroyed for their political gain

  • kbr running human trafficking rings in other countries. they go to places like thailand to have sex with little boys & girls

  • Here is the 30 Republican Senators that are PRO RAPE:

    Alexander(R-TN),Barrasso(R-WY),Bond(R-MO),Brownback(R-KS),Bunning(R-KY),Burr(R-NC),Chambliss(R-GA),Coburn(R-OK),Cochran(R-MS),Corker(R-TN),Cornyn(R-TX),Crapo(R-ID),DeMint(R-SC),Ensign(R-NV),Enzi(R-WY),Graham(R-SC),Gregg(R-NH),Inhofe(R-OK),Isakson(R-GA),Johanns(R-NE),Kyl(R-AZ),McCain(R-AZ),McConnell(R-KY),Risch(R-ID),Roberts(R-KS),Sessions(R-AL),Shelby(R-AL),Thune(R-SD),Vitter(R-LA),Wicker(R-MS)

  • The amendment prohibits mandatory private arbitration regarding "sexual assault or harassment, including assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, or negligent hiring, supervision, or retention."

"Negligent hiring, supervision, or retention" is the clause that republicans were disagreeing with. Define: negligent hiring.

    Sounds like affirmative action.

I agree with the other stuff, just not the last 5 words.

No senators are "PRO RAPE," u silly person.

  • @Myonetrueself Negligent Hiring means, hiring a criminal or murderer or convicted rapist, without having done a background check, and then having them commit a similar crime again while under your supervision and continuing to retain them in your employ. YOU at some point are then liable. those 30 republicans aren't Pro Rape they are Pro not caring about you or me. They are PRO KBR and PRO Corporate CASH... U silly person.

  • @maha77 Any of those scumbags running for the mid-trem? Al Franken, you have made the smartest bill. At least no body blocked, phillabuster or held up the vote. I don't think you want to vote against the bill and then face the victims of rape in your state.

  • @maha77 THANK YOU for this post

  • who is this hot al franken guy? i'd like to rape him!

  • Check SNL in the 80's

  • @ZmickTrick Holy shit what is wrong with you.

  • The internet is full of insanity. That was my best attempt to imitate it.

  • Comment removed

  • Having gone thru a similar experience, I can't thank Al Franken enough for taking a stand on this.

  • The conservaturds that voted against this amendment should be droped off at the local prison and let them get gang raped.

  • Thanks for the vid! I love Al Franken so much! So grateful he is in the Senate now.

  • "reseach [sic] the damn thing and read it."

Tell you what, sport, you read the fucking thing. Unless you're a heartless, mindless, gutless thug (i.e. republican) you may learn a little something about the unfortunate need to buttress laws against rape and torture because corporations like KBR and Blackwater would skewer babies if they could get away with it.

  • I never said I thought she was lying. I think it's disgusting what happened but I would like to hear all sides of the story, before I make my mind up. My whole problem is that people would rather pass an amendment simply because it supports something useful with out knowing the literature of it. For it to be affective it needs to be written in a very matter of fact way. If its written as just a general amendment even though its passed it may have loopholes and could be discarded in future events

  • What possible harm could there be to allow a women to take her rapist to court? What is it about Republican conservatives anyway? They are what stagnate our country. Chicken littles of anything that might seem progressive. They find the negitivity in EVERYTHING and if there isn't anything to be found they make chit up! When will we work together for the people of our country instead of playing power trips over money which has put us where we are today?

  • No this is your greedy corporations taking the rights away from the little people to hide their dirty l ittle secrets. What seems more socialist? Those who take away the rights of someone to sue their rapist or the ones who try to give her back her rights? Why don't you ask your Mom, sister or daughter what she thinks. Your discusting to think that she as well as the many others arent "VICTIMS" when raped. Leave it to the one with the penis to victimize the raped and give aid to the rapists.

  • You complain about generalizations against Republicans...well listen to yourself.

You didnt say she was lying but you want to hear both sides...blah blah blah...you would rather pass an amendment blah blah blah.

Yeah dumbass, the amendment is so companies cannot STOP people from hearing BOTH sides of the fucking story...god damn, use your fucking head for fucks sake. The fucking amendment is to stop companies from blocking rape cases from going to COURT, which is a right BTW.

  • Oh and its just like a liberal to generalize the republican party and throw out personal attacks to people you don't know and could give to shits about. Why don't you try having an intelligent conversation without the third grade name calling, you might be taken on a more serious note. Just a thought ;) And just so you know I'm not a republican, I'm more of a libertarian, so you might want to correct your insults so that they suit me. Have a nice night.

  • "just like a liberal" lol

    pot calling kettle black?

i actually agree, generalizations are the root of hostility between ppl. it's easier to hate generalized groups rather than actual free-thinking individuals.

think about that when u listen to extreme left or right talkers. they constantly label us in order to divide and cause miscommunication....though the right is more guilty, u can't deny that

  • I think both parties are extremely polluted, and honestly I don't think one is any dirtier than the other. That's why I don't claim either party they're both full of foul corrupt people. I think it would do good to get some fresh blood in the house. The whole problem is that what Liberals think is right the conservatives think is wrong and vice versa so there's never any level ground for them to stand on. Maybe one day we'll find that common ground we can all come together and agree on.

  • All I know is that when "I" Watch Fox news I see witch hunts and scare tactics on anything progressive. ANYTHING from the current administration is deemed villianous and if they can't find something wrong with it then they make something up. Then I watch MSNBC " which I was recently told has only 45% liberal viewers" and all they seem to do is counter these Fox attacks with common sense and facts. Two party system needs to be removed so we're not fighting against eachother rather FOR eachother.

  • Can you explain how passing the bill is throwing it out?

    Your logic is astounding.

  • The "Party of No" becomes the "Party of 'No Means Yes'"

  • I won't lie, I'm probably going to use that.

  • To vote against this is inexcusable...

  • BECAUSE it's poorly written I might add. . .

  • Oh certainly they all voted it in, but do a little research. They're thinking twice. Sen. Dan Inouye, a longtime Democrat from Hawaii, is considering removing or altering the provision. Look it up know it all. He's not the only one. Next time you want to call me a liar do some research. I will shoot you down EVERY TIME.

  • They weren't voting against the bill itself, they were voting against a POORLY WRITTEN bill. And don't bash republicans, Democrats are now nixing the bill also. So curse you liberal allies as well.

  • Are you kidding me? How poorly written can a NO YOU CANT GANG RAPE YOUR EMPLOYEES bill be? Stop lying, every damn Democrat voted for the bill as well as 10 other Republicans which is why it passed. Of course all the WOMEN voted for it! It was the Franken Amendment to the 2010 Defense spending bill and it passed. Now go back to sensationalizing the Acorn issue.

  • Rape-publicans.

  • Odd isn't it that Republicans go nuts over the way women are treated in some Islamic countries yet see nothing wrong with KBR or Haliburton in the unjust way women are treated by these corporations or by the US military. Republicans & conservatives & their TV stars at Fox news argue the rights of corporations come before the rights of individual US citizens.

If corporations are to be treated as individuals under the law then they like individuals can be prosecuted for alleged crimes.

  • Now, I ask you which is worse - Haliburton or ACORN?

As far as I know, ACORN never raped anyone and locked them in a shipping container so they couldn't tell anyone...

  • No they just give tips on how to open under aged brothels. And HALIBURTON didn't rape anyone. IT happened in the barracks on off duty hours. Why is Haliburton responsible for it's employees while they aren't at work? I don't think rape is right but we also don't know the whole story about what went on that night.

  • The republicans are on a great path to win back seats!

  • Thank you Senator Franken.

  • Fuck you KBR, wow that is just inhumane. And the 30 republicans who voted against this are filthy human beings.

  • Haliburton and KBR are both among the most curropt U.S. contractors that we have. They need to be dismantled and the owners dragged into the streets where we can beat the shit out of them.

  • Disgusting!

  • men who gang raped the woman, they already testified that they did it. i do think that she was kind of dumb to take that job but but there should be some consequences to companies that let rapers to get away.

  • Ok, well according to Al she was locked in a shipping container...so that's not the same conditions.

Secondly, the law is the law. They broke the law, contracts do not matter.

Lastly, "No one forced her to take the job and she should have read the entire contract before signing it."....seriously...so everything I sign I'm going to ask "Hey, if I get raped while here is it ok to take it to court??" Because thats what it sounds like your saying.

  • Way to fight for the rights of rapists. It amazes me when someone can be so partisan they deny their own common sense. This is a well documented case so you don't have to take his word for it. Franken is just trying to make congress get off their ass and do something for a change. Give the guy some credit. I occasionally agree with O'reilly and even Buchanan when their right... which is rare but it happens. Don't let the party aisle shut down your sense of right and wrong.

  • Not getting special treament is not the same as being gang raped.

Why are you being more jugemental of the victim then the men who did the raping and KBR who kept her locked in a shipping container?

  • Didn't Franken tell jokes about sexual assaults???

  • Why the fuck did you hack my account?

  • speechless....

  • Sen. Jeff Sessions (R) Alabama ...is a JACKASS!

  • Aren't most Republicans Jackasses?

  • Arbitration is designed to settle contract disputes...when a crime is alledged then arbitration is no longer viable. You could make a case for Conspiracy in that the arbitration was a required part of the contract...and the company's actions after the event. The denial of medical attention is a crime as well.

  • gwhitex - I accidentally down-marked you - I am so embarrassed!!!

  • I am disgusted by the thirty Republicans that voted against this amendment.

  • in my opinion, conservatives republicans are EXACTLY the same as conservative muslims. they hate women, they hate gays, they both kill in the name of god. the only difference is that when republicans kill innocent people they say it's b/c they LOVE America, when muslims kill innocent people they say it's b/c they HATE America.

  • You're a dumbass.

  • why? because you can't come up with a real answer to the truth? typical behavior of a moron.

  • GOP doesn't care about women, except as baby makers. You'll get no sympathy from them.

  • Perhaps the brutal treatment at Gitmo has not been put to rest; it has simply been shifted to a new victim--women. The Department of Defense should not defend the indefensible. Go get 'em Jamie and Franken, make them suffer.

  • how come when i watch these house proceedings it seems like all the member of the house are moving about not really listening. do they actually have discussion or do they just walk in say their peace and walk out. odd to me.

  • yeah and the thirty??? REPUBLICAN MEN. What a piece of shit that party is, yet they pretend to be on some kind of moral high ground...pathetic.

  • that was the perfect first amendment....

    the thirty that voted against....shameful

  • has anyone hear even read the bill on this? your comments say no you haven't this bill isn't just about rape it pretty much destroys arbitration i agree Rape should NEVER be in arbitration but this bill stops arbitration of everything from the little to the big "you hurt your leg in Iran looks like were going back to the states for your court case which will make Lawyers huge amounts of money which me, you, your parents, grandparents all pay for his is just using this womans tragic case trick us

  • Well guess what, then that means that defense contractors will have to actually have to go out of their way to provide a work environment that will not be conducive to people wanting to sue them....It'll clean up their freaking act....

  • No dude you dont understand this pretty much means that now when you go to sue them you get nothing but an empty wallet Arbitration protects us from corp's draging out things in court which pretty much fucks any employee that sues them over anything.

  • This really should be use to cause a split in the Republican party. Go to every church, start emails and get petitions going.

Its time Conservatives took back their party from the Neo-Cons...it would cut their power from under them.

Everyone, no matter what political party they believe in. No matter what their faith or lack there-of is...should be OUTRAGED at anyone that voted against this.

DO IT. DONT LET THIS DIE WITHOUT CAUSING AN UPROAR OVER IT!

  • Republicans, putting politics before crime and morality.

  • I am ashamed that Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker are my senators.

  • 30 votes against=30 sick Republican fucks

  • Every single one of the republicans should be "fired" by their respective constituents... that is fucking disgusting

  • I see there is still some good in the rotten country of America.

  • Senator Al Franken is doing an outstanding job!!

  • I'm glad NC has one senator (Hagan) who knows accountability in cases of rape/assault is good thing. As for the other senator, Burr is a human turd.

Aren't republicans supposed to be all about personal responsibility, tough on crime, etc? Every man on the 'nay' list is trash and every man on the 'nay' list is republican. Surprise, surprise.

It bothers me that female (R)senators voted sensibly against rape on this and didn't chastise their male members. They want to have it both ways.

  • It's funny that KBR still gets millions more that ACORN ever did and yet no one in the government speaks out about a contractor that is COMMITTING ACTUAL CRIMES.

  • Shh you, someone might hear.

  • you're a republican not in favor?

  • I'd like to know why the 30 NAY'ers (all Republican by the way) voted this down and what their justifications are?

    That's just fucked up!

  • course they're all males (all the women voted YES) and they're flushed with power (and donations from Halliburton)

  • Not Voting - (WTF DID THESE DEMS NOT VOTE?)

    Byrd (D-WV)

    Specter (D-PA)

  • How can americans pay their taxes knowing they finance rape and murder?

  • Haditha comes to mind...

  • Yes it does.

I will no longer finance the rape and murder of their women or ours.

  • The corrupt government protect their own, while others, kids, as your as 4, are being labeled sex offenders, while these jerks, if true, get a free pass.

  • I am so proud and thankful of Al Franken's public service.

  • Holy shit. This is incredible. Being raped (let alone gang raped) is indescribably bad enough without having to be re-victimized over and over again for 4 fucking years by having to fight for your right to justice. This makes me sick. Wake the hell up, America, and stand up for your women. And supposedly men are supposed to be our protectors? Thanks anyway, but I don't think I'll hold my breath.

  • Punishment for rape victim happens in US too.

  • Just google republicansforrape to see a list of the republican scumbags who tried to vote this down. Then send them an email and let them know what you think.

  • wow the person named cater94 should be arrested... as for the amendment... the fact that 30 republican senators did not vote for it should prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the miderable nature of conservativism... Does conservatism mean conserving man dominated society where men get away with rape!!!!!

seriously people like cater here should be put in prison and forced to attend 1000 hours of classes on the history of the plight of women. wow... this makes me very sad.

  • Thank you, Senator Franken.

  • I've got some serious bitching to do at Sen. Judd Gregg. Actually shocked that he's even in office. *I* sure as hell didn't vote for him here in New Hampshire!! He's definitely going to hear it from me!

  • did you even vote?

  • stupid Republicunts like rape

  • Good job Franken. Maybe there is hope after all.

  • Your comment is so fucking funny. Not laugh out loud, ha-ha funny, more think-about-what-you-said-and-groan kind of funny. Actual Rape(?) = not a funny joke. Jokes about consensual sex between adults in a forum concerning rape = funny. Who knew? Politics = always funny. Like "Funny Games", funny. Republicrat/Democran, 1 party system (sage). Duh. Props to Frankin, 612 represent.
  • LMAO! A bill condemning corporations literally GANG-RAPING their employees scrapes by with 68% approval. Do you seriously think that these bloodthirsty, misogynistic Neanderthals will ever pass universal healthcare of any kind, let alone single-payer healthcare?

  • Really? Is that what you told the judge?

  • You moron, she needed reconstructive surgery because of the trauma her rapists inflicted on her body. They tore her apart. She didn't consent to that. How do you explain the toxicology reports that prove she was drugged?

And she sure as hell didn't consent to be locked in a shipping container and held prisoner.

  • You are 19... and extremely ignorant and scary... please by all means go to college... and please take courses in women's studies... I am trying to save your life by saying this... you should listen.

  • You are fucking stupid. You're dumb. You're ignorant. I can't think of enough adjectives that describe just how unintelligent you are. I hope that one day you too will be raped/sodomized so that you will know the horrors of the experience. You pig. You are a disgusting excuse for a human being. A waste of flesh.

  • That was in reply to cater94 if that wasn't clear to the rest of yous

  • cater94 ...You're a disgusting fucking rape lover ,,, you fucking piece of shit excuse for a human being. You need to rot in fucking hell like the 30 rethuglican men who voted against this , you motherfucking scumbag....Get hit by a car & die.

  • No need to be so hostile.

We should be supportive of people who are trying to make change; we should be supportive who have been abused and effected by the lame situation in Iraq, yadda-yadda.

We should not be hostile to those who aspire to get us out of this mess.

  • No non-disclosure clauses for crime either!

  • Obviously, you think you know both sides of it. So, tell us the Republican side.

So far, all you're doing is breathing hot air with no substance.

  • Its not really a Republican side, its about Government interference in contracts. But in cases like this its really hard to defend.

  • They don't want women to be raped, but they do want to remove any legal recourse for women who are drugged and gang-raped in this situation.

  • 30 Republicans voted to support KBR's ability to treat their employees like slaves and that suing the employer that provides an unsafe work environment "violates due process." Really, what planet are Republicans currently inhabiting?

  • Mccain voted for this shit, and he was this close with Sarah FAILIN to becoming president of the United States.

This scares the living shit out of me. Republicans are done for a few decades, mark my words.

  • Stupid americans.

  • Way to go Republicans! You never cease to shock me with your Medieval decisions.

    That means you Mccain.

  • Comment removed

  • And if Palin were a senator, she would have probably sold out to the NEO-cons, too...

  • I keep telling these Tea Baggers that these so called Republicans will sell their ass out in a hot minute when it comes to their crony friends and their profits. Some Democrats too. Just like with healthcare. Keeping these assholes on Wall Street rolling in the dough is what funds their campaigns. They couldn't give a rats-ass about your healthcare. Look what happened when Obama took student loans away from the Bankers to save taxpayers 80 billion over 10 years - the Repubs voted against it.

  • ..... & they want to stop funding ACORN???

  • Out of curiosity, did any Democrats also oppose this amendment?

  • Nope - No Dems - just stinking neo-cons.

  • horrible. unacceptable. CASTRATION would be the ONLY reasonable sentence.

  • LOL COMMUNIST!

  • Of course Republicans oppose anti-gang rape laws. It the supported anti-gang rape laws how could they continue to let corporate America gang rape the people?

  • I prevented a 16 year old lesbian from committing suicide. She was raped two years later by a man who thought that lesbian's had no right to complain because they are not normal.

I also prevented a 12 year old gay boy from committing suicide. At age 15 he was raped by a "kind hearted Christian Republican" who then said he would kill the boy and his family if he told. He also said he would kill them if he was not allowed to continue having sex. The boy finally told and the pervs ass is in jail

  • Boobalopbop, I'd like to add to that comment. I often wonder how many retarded men, actually think "well women enjoy sex so rape must feel good..." lol! Morons.

Anyway, and yes republicans are pretty much scum. One day many years from now if we still exist, we can look back at the stupidity of these people, like we have so many other morons in history, and think, man they were outta line!

  • I guess actions speak louder that words that goes for both parties

  • woodycoat, your parents had all retarded chidlren.

  • No surprise about McCain... He famously made a crude joke about women enjoying being raped. Sad thing is, these men have wives, daughters. How could they face them after voting against this?

  • This is disgusting. See how many Repubes (I MADE A FUNNY) voted against this? Same people that would use the boys will be boys excuse.

  • this is an amendment to a bill in the senate,

if this was a bill it self then it would pass however it's not.

  • The vote was not for the bill. The vote with 30 Republican Senators voting nay was specifically against this amendment. It did pass btw.

  • It did pass.

  • It's simple. Republicans are fucking scum, and will side with a buck over your life in a minute.

  • Franken for president!

  • Dems/Inds: 60-0 in favor.

    GOP: 30-9 against.

Remind me which party supports the "sanctity of life"?

  • @woodycoat....holy shit! Can you be any more of a chauvinistic fuck? God you make me wanna hurl. For one thing....who said she's a "gorgeous 19 yr old girl"? She could've had a face that stopped a freight train and weighed 300 lbs....your second comment must have been written by your dick.....Fuck what filth

  • who said? google the story dumbass cat man

  • KBR and Halliburton are run by demons in hell.

  • al Franken- yea baby..

  • and how did KBR get that no-bid contract to begin with? no-bid contracts are something I never heard of before KBR getting the one for all of Iraq.

  • This is not Fox News.

  • As a Kentuckian, I must say that I hate my Senators for voting against this, among other things.

  • F yea Al Franken. Jeez I can't believe this fight even had to be fought. What the F is wrong with Halliburton? Doesn't this make them like the cancerous part of capitalism?

  • It took you six years to figure this out?

  • Thank you Al Franken for giving these ladies a voice. I have heard things about these contractors and others, that are above our laws. These people act like the perverts were are at war with! Thanks for kicking billo's ass at that book signing. Go Get'em Al !
