to those calling Kobe a "ball hog" .. If you shoot it, and it keeps going in, isn't the logical thing to do is keep shooting? News Flash: Thats the point of the game to score points. Why give the ball up to someone who isn't as good of a shooter when you make it. Ball Hogs are those who continue to shoot and continue to miss....
stop saying who is "better"... doesn't even make sense, so many factors to consider. but i think a realistic way to compare is 1v1... in which case iverson would prolly beat everyone in the nba
ok i'm pretend to be stupid for a second and ask one question here if kobe is not better than jordan then why are we watching a 81 point game of kobe and not jordan
Michael is the greatest because he was consistently better. But I'm sorry Kobe has had way better single game scoring performances and when I say "way better" I mean fucking insane. The feats Kobe accomplished in a single game probably wouldn't happen again for a long time and especially wouldn't be accomplished by LeBron. I mean he only outscored the Dallas Mavericks (NBA Finalist team06) 62-61 after an entire 3 quarters had been played. Kobe never tried to be Michael Jordan he was Kobe Bryant.
What Kobe did was amazing. but he had 48 shot attempts and the only other player to have over 10 shot attempts was Smush Parker. Everyone else had under 10 attempts. I bet Melo would be able to score 80 if he took that many attempts.
I love how everybody is comparing Kobe to Jordan.... And then the respective teams they dropped their career highs on... And the different eras... I go Jordan, but what the fuck do we know?? Hahaha Everybody shut the hell up! People are trying to convince others to change their OPINIONS with two or three facts. Get out of here... Nobody kows shit.
Funny thing is he was propbably playing when he told lamar odom in the locker room "man im about to drop 80 on these dudes"......Lamar Odom and kobe both chuckle. 3 hours later......priceless
@Kobe24Everr Kobe is amazing! Great! But Im sorry he's just not Michael Jordan. Its hard for the young guys to fathom but as good as Kobe is, Jordan was just better. Imagine in the 90's every team had a Kobe Bryant every team had 1,2 or 3 HOF's so the competition was absurd! I think Kobe was the last of the 90's superstars
@cobrala I know he is, there's no arguing that, and anyone who disagrees didn't really Jordan play, or just saw a couple of highlights of him. I agree he's the GOAT, but not because of the stats or all that bullshit, I liked him because he made me LOVE basketball. Kobe was't even my favorite player, Shaq was, even when he went to miami, I still followed him. But what I'm trying to say is everything that Kobe does (no matter how great it is) it gets overshadowed by Jordan or LBJ.
@Kobe24Everr except it would never happen with lebron or mj. jordan's 50 and 60 point games included many passes and facilitation-oriented plays. If you actually watched this game, there is a point where kobe takes the team's shot EACH TIME down the floor for more than one quarter. you would never see mj do that. he would pass in between
@platinumchefindia Because MJ had great and reliable players to aid him, Scottie Pippen one of the best defenders in the league, and Denis Rodman the best rebounder in history. And remind me what Kobe had at the time? Oh yeah, Smush Parker, Chris Mihm, AND THE WORLD'S BEST PLAYER... KWAME BROWN! So please GTFO. He wanted to win, not carry they're dumbasses throughout the season
@platinumchefindia mj is fucking overrated the reason people hate kobe is cause kobe isn't a media push over like jordan. kobe hands down is the greatest basketball player when its all said and done i can see black mamba passing kareem and everyone then will have to stfu jordan can suck on it and all the jordan fans can suck jiordan had fucking pippen and rodman his team was stacked always except for his first 4 yrs kobe had fucking kwame brown
@Kobe24Everr Kobe isnt a ball hog, when he did this the Lakers weren't a good basketball team and he was on fire so i see why he kept shooting it. But remember MJ is the GOAT. He scored 61 points on one of the best basketball dynasties of all time, and in the playoffs. Kobe scored 81, which is amazing, but it was on one of the worst teams in the league, especially on the defensive end.
2. Jordan played sorry teams in his career and NEVER scored 81
3. Let's not forget Kobe's CLUTCH performance in 2008 that won the U.S. a gold medal in the Olympics, one of the best basketball performances of all time. And he was clearly was the MVP of that 08 team.
4. Jordan and Kobe will always be a debate, but Lebron doesn't even come close.
Y'all acting like he did 81 points in a play off game or something. He scored 81 points against a team thats horrible. For kobe that's like playing 2k in rookie difficulty. My guy did one of the best comebacks in NBA history with his 13 in 33
@xdivision100 They're NBA players. It's not like the defense was non existence. The fact that he was able to score 81 points is a great accomplishment no matter what anybody says. "Oh the other team sucked" Well why hasn't anybody else done it? And if you say "cuz nobody else is a ballhog like kobe" You can't score unless you shoot.! The team was having a terrible game and they were down by a lot. Kobe had 60% shooting night. I don't care how many time u shoot if u have that much
when the world is ruled by corporations (NBA) and corporations desire to make money (headlines) then its easy to set up a situation where every ball is passed to kobe without arrest or any real d. (the next big thing) dont believe me? wait 10 years.
@kidmuscle28 Here are Kobe's teammates in 2006: Luke Walton, Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Devean George, Sasha Vujacic, Von Wafer, Brian Cook, Chris Mihm, and Ronny Turiaf. Now.....which one of those players should he pass the ball too?

I hate when people call Carmelo Anthony the best pure scorer in basketball..its like he has to have some kind of title but as long as Mamba is playing Melo gotta settle for number 2 at best
Jordan was leading the league in scoring at the age of 33-35, not trying to hate but you sound like one of those dumb kobe fans that doesn't know anything
We don't like to hate, but we get tired of correcting idiots like you all the time, you are the one in denial
Wilt's 100 is great and all but Kobe's 62 in 3 quarters is more impressive... Wilt played against a bunch of 6 foot white guys with their starting center out.. plus he was a 7 foot black guy. Kobe outscored an entire team in 3 quarters, the same team that made the finals that year. He would've definitely gotten more than 81 had he played the 4th
@cyclontzy kobe score 61 in 3 quarters god damnit. He outscored the number 1 seeded mavs on his own through 3. Didn't even play the fourth. He scored 81 and on a terrible defense, so, jordan didnt take the opportunity when he played the shit defenses
@GrieverHD03 his career points per game is 25.4 though. Jordan's career points per game is 30.1. Of course he can average over 30 for a few seasons but not for his entire career
@GrieverHD03 I really dont wanna start a fight but Jordan averaged 30 points a season....for his entire career...Also Jordan lead the league in scoring not 1 or 2 season but for 10 seasons! A decade! Kobe is a great player. One of the greatest ever....but not THE greatest....Not Jordan
@cobrala I agree Kobe is not the best ever, but I don't agree about Michael Jordan being the best either. In my oppinion Magic is the greatest player ever. A 6'9 point gaurd who passed better than anyone in history and moved as quick as a young Isiah Thomas. Michael Jordan was a ballhog, so he scored a lot, but Magic could do it all.
@pkflyers I'm guessing you don't know shit about basketball yourself. My statement stands Kobe does not average 30 points per game for his career and I am 100% correct.
@pkflyers didn't come to talk shit, came to see highlights of an amazing 81 point game by kobe. Just saw some comments and had to put you fools in place putting him on level with Jordan.
@usablanco and your point being?? Sure MJ never scored 81 against one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA and bound for the lottery. But he did score 63 against the 86-87 Boston Celtics. He had to go up against Larry Bird in his prime and against one of the best defensive teams of the 1980's.
@usablanco Jordan, just like LeBron unlike Kobe scored 40 because he has a high FG% NOT because he shot jacks cuz those two guys get 40 point triple doubles Kobe just jacks up as many shots as points and gets like 2 assists in those high scoring games
but the bulls would not have beaten the rockets with a prime hakeem olajuwon. Or maybe he would've gotten ONE. But maybe Shaq and kobe would've gotten 3 more as well. Again Jordan ONLY has the edge in corporate marketing status, and if not for Colorado Kobe would have equaled him there as well, but his corporate profile continues to grow, his skills are just unparalleled, and he still is the same cold blooded assassin. He IS the best. There is nothing wrong in saying that
Hey blue letters 13 and RossRose 26, let's settle this. Kobe is just as physically dominant, just as good defensively, has the same killer instinct, and is the BETTER scorer. Jordan got the jump on kobe by starting and dominating from day 1, while kobe had to warm the bench even though he was a prodigy fresh from high school those were the politics of that time. Now granted, Jordan missed two prime years (baseball) (gambling scandal), which would've probably left him as 2nd in points all time,
Its funny how sports center begins with a college basketball team score of 81-80. Kobe scored just as many pts on one game by himself than a whole team can do together.
basketball is about winning for the home crowd who pays there money to see winners and there favorite players by the way the coach calls the shots not the players so if the coach says kobe go to work thats wat he does
people kobe knows more about jordan than we all think we know kobe cant compete with mike in percentages and overall numbers but he competes with mj as far as being an overachiever and champion his name is in the breath of mj and wilt cant deny that love him or hate him
@BiigBuck1 And I can tell you're Kobe > Jordan so while you're looking at stats look how many times Jordan shot over 50% from the field compared to Kobe's. Also check Jordan's playoff scoring average compared to Kobe's, and of course the All Time scoring average (and that includes Jordan's last two seasons bringing it down. Kobe's already 5 points below, and he is not to his fall-off years yet. Don't ever try to use stats to make that argument cause it won't work.
@BiigBuck1 My man, don't get it twisted. Jordan led the league in scoring at age 33 and 34. Not knocking Kobe whatsoever, but these are facts. Jordan is also the oldest player to ever get 40. Respect what that man did.
Incredibly he also had a game that season in which he had 62 points through 3 QUARTERS!!! and he sat out the 4th. Trust me, if Colorado didn't happen, people would have no problem crowning the best of a time because by now he would have had the corporate status to match his staggering statistics, ala MJ. He is still capable of scoring on an unprecedented level (4 consecutive 40 point games last week) he IS the greatest player of all time...
i think it'd be equivalent to more back then. wilt had 28 fts and he's a center so most of his shots were mid range at most to close range. kobe had at least like half of his shots outside. and half of them contested with doubled team or shot with fadeaways (difficults shots etc.)
I read some guy had tickets for this game and sold them. Maybe he killed himself.

pkflyers 1 week ago
@pkflyers I'm guessing you don't know shit about basketball yourself. My statement stands Kobe does not average 30 points per game for his career and I am 100% correct.
laurentbooz 1 week ago
@laurentbooz man are u gay? get off jordans dick
whats the point going on a kobe video to talk shit?
pkflyers 1 week ago
@pkflyers didn't come to talk shit, came to see highlights of an amazing 81 point game by kobe. Just saw some comments and had to put you fools in place putting him on level with Jordan.

@usablanco Yeah becuz he did a thing called "passing the ball!"Hhhe did it against toronto???????????
RexGdubb 2 weeks ago
@usablanco whos still the greatest of all time tho?
xIFONZIEIx 2 weeks ago
@usablanco does that mean wilt chamberlin is better than kobe, based on 1 game? NO,
Mark53190 2 weeks ago
@usablanco and your point being?? Sure MJ never scored 81 against one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA and bound for the lottery. But he did score 63 against the 86-87 Boston Celtics. He had to go up against Larry Bird in his prime and against one of the best defensive teams of the 1980's.
jizzhunt 2 weeks ago
@usablanco Kobe never scored 100? What's your point? Lol.

KOBE DOESN'T HAVE 6 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ROW
hamozee 2 weeks ago
@hamozee Neither does Jordan asshole! He won three then Houston won two then he won the other three. You're a dipshit!
RogueCamaroon 2 weeks ago

There is nothing wrong in saying that
tigeranthony 1 month ago

SmooveSav 1 month ago
basketball is about winning for the home crowd who pays there money to see winners and there favorite players by the way the coach calls the shots not the players so if the coach says kobe go to work thats wat he does

people kobe knows more about jordan than we all think we know kobe cant compete with mike in percentages and overall numbers but he competes with mj as far as being an overachiever and champion his name is in the breath of mj and wilt cant deny that love him or hate him

BlueLetters13 1 month ago
@BiigBuck1 My man, don't get it twisted. Jordan led the league in scoring at age 33 and 34. Not knocking Kobe whatsoever, but these are facts. Jordan is also the oldest player to ever get 40. Respect what that man did.

He even managed to be the best in the game while playing alongside THE most dominant force in NBA history (Shaq)... Nuff said....
tigeranthony 1 month ago
Incredibly he also had a game that season in which he had 62 points through 3 QUARTERS!!! and he sat out the 4th. Trust me, if Colorado didn't happen, people would have no problem crowning the best of a time because by now he would have had the corporate status to match his staggering statistics, ala MJ. He is still capable of scoring on an unprecedented level (4 consecutive 40 point games last week) he IS the greatest player of all time...

for a shooting guard in the modern era, id say 81 is equivalent to 100pts back then.....with all do respect to wilt chamberlain.

@matt2fresh84
i think it'd be equivalent to more back then. wilt had 28 fts and he's a center so most of his shots were mid range at most to close range. kobe had at least like half of his shots outside. and half of them contested with doubled team or shot with fadeaways (difficults shots etc.)
