  • Did You Freely Put The Camera On The Dolly Without Any Support ?

  • I think I am going to build one of these

  • Can't you just attach a longboard to some rails

  • Thanks for giving measurements. It's nice to have someone do that for us. I'm designing a powered dolly with a miniture crane-like head. Comparing your measurements with what I have. I also liked your style of doco. The music added a cool touch.

  • okay...I had to stop watching this video in the middle of it to leave this comment. THAT IS BY FAR THE WORST SONG I HAVE EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EEEEVER EVAR HEARD IN MY LIFE!

  • @sonnyjaime69

But did the tutorial help you? The quality of certain music is obviously highly opinionated (whether it's "good" or "bad", not the actual audio quality), and to be honest, I wouldn't really listen to that anymore, but the important thing is that the tutorial itself served its purpose.

  • LOVE IT THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • Buen trabajo, mis amigos!

    - El Banidto Dan

  • what song is that?!! when ur drilling the holes?!?

  • Comment removed

  • @StreetNationMedia Next time I narrate something, I'll run every single word by you to make sure it's not sub-par. Deal?

  • you honestly didn't measure the bolt?

  • wow what a waste of bones reds

  • Oh... Well that makes much more sense now.

  • @shotcalla50 I don't get it.

  • @BandDFilms Theyre skate bearings

  • @BandDFilms Its a type of bearings for skateboards.

  • Excellent thanks for posting keep up the good work

  • Great video! 5 stars

  • If i PayPal u the money, would you make me one?

  • Good tutorial Clear, simple

    Thanks

  • how much did all the supplies cost about?

  • you need a new pair of jeans too.

  • Thanks for telling me, because I totally didn't notice.

  • lol

  • dont worry about this guy, you made a good video amigo :-D

    Tino from Spain

  • what type of angle metal is it? is it steel?

  • Aluminum

  • dudeiloveyousomuch......well anyways...where can i find skateboard wheels?? and what sizes??? and wut color?? lol

    thanks in advance dude!!!

  • Dude I love you too! How weird is that?!

I got my wheels and bearings off of ebay. Just search for "skateboard" wheels. You can also use roller blade wheels. I got the hard plastic kind because they are cheaper, but the jelly kind would probably work better. And whatever wheel you go with, I'm pretty sure as long as it's a skateboard or rollerblade wheel, then the bearing size is all standard. So just look up "Skateboard bearings". As for color, that's up to you.

  • okokok i decided to go with the roller blade wheels. because theres this store that i could get them for free. i have 16. so do i just use the same procedure?? with this tutorial?? just..with roller blades wheels??? do i need smaller pvc pipe seeing the wheels are a bit skinnier??? maybe we should message each other??? lol

  • Same procedure. Should be pretty much the same, your pvc size will probably be the same too. Just make sure (since roller blade wheels are bigger) that when you put the two wheels on the piece of angle metal, that they don't hit eachother at the bottom.

  • Thanks for the video, it is very detailed on how to build the dolly, but could you please also put the dimensions of the single objects you use to do the job?

What's the size of the wheels? What about the spacers? I just checked on ebay and there are several sizes.

    Which ones did you use?

  • The wheels are standard skateboard wheels. I can't remember the spacers but I think they were one inch.

  • Most definitely.

  • good choice in music xD

  • this is lego

  • No dude, this is SPARTA!!!!!!!

  • tried it, doesn't work that great.

  • lol i made exactly the same dolly 2 years ago

  • worked like a charm thanks for a great how to video, people should get the lock bolts when are they building this dolly. i did one that's 3ftx3.5ft and then im gonna add in a push bar, overall construction time 3 to 4 hours. total cost. $130.82

rating 10/10 now im ready to hit the set with my newly built dolly.

  • The wheels are normal skateboard wheels (I don't know what size, because they are standard on skateboards. So I just googled "skateboard wheels").

    I don't remember the exact dimensions, but I think it's 3ftX4ft.

  • last time i checked, 1/4 was pronounced one quarter. not one forth.

  • When did you last check?

  • twenty two one fourth inch nuts.

for some reason that came out wrong in my cousins mind lmao.

  • how to make an even easier and cheaper dolly:

    u will need:

a chair that has wheels and can spins

    a tripod

    a person to push you

    and a camera

first put ur camera on a tripod and sit on the chair or put the tripod on ur chair instead

then get som1 to push you and spin and do stuff

gr8 fun indoors or flat ground

  • Or.... you can film it a little further out and use motion tracking to have the smoothness of a dolly without one.

  • wow thats very cool man

  • Wow good job dude! :D

  • Thank ye!

  • what size wheels did u use

  • where did you get the wheel, for how much each?

  • Just look through the commens and you'll find all that info.

  • Watch my video.

    its on my channel

it only works on small digital cameras but hell it sure is good!

  • great song! what band is it?

  • Municipal Waste

  • It is very cheap compared to buying a real dolly.

Mine ran about 250-300 dollars not including my labor. lol

Only took 4 hours or so to build. I could probably build one in 2 hours now...

  • we love you too ashley

  • Five Star Vid Man!!

  • Check my channel page when you get this...

  • wow thx for putting it on your channel. i also noticed you were looking at jib videos. B and D films just built one about a week ago. It works great. if you want ill get you a link. thx again for putting it on your file.

  • Yeah, I would love the link....

It's no problem... I favorited it too!

  • Thanks for the heads up on this video man!! I need 2 get my butt in bed good night!

  • I finally got all my supplies about to start building... I will post a video response when I finish it.

  • have any questioins along the way just ask us

  • Oh, I finished it last night. Here are some options/ improvements to your content.

    (16) White spacers are 1/2 inch plastic spacers

(6)1/4 inch long bolts should be atleast 5 inches

Instead of 1.5 cm for the long line on the 2x2right angle in inches that is 1/2 an inch

I substituted 2 inch 1/4 bolts for 2.5 inches and they worked. I also used lock nuts.

I made my platform / plywood 4x4 feet so I could fully extend the camera tripod.

    Thanks Again

  • I'm going to use this....

  • very glad we could help you

  • Thanks for posting it...

  • The L shaped piece of metal... you have 2 of them. What size are they?

  • What size L shaped metal brackets do you use???

  • 2in x 2in at 3mm thick

  • just for a little tip.i would show you putting the bearings in the wheel.some pople might not know how.

  • COCO hahahaha silly dog hey when i went to the School of Visual Arts in NY which was awesome, they used a wheelchair as a part of their dolly.

  • yeah, that's an old trick. I've heard of a lot of people doing that too. The only problem is that it has to be on smooth ground, 'cause it doesn't have a track.

  • how can you make it turn. do they make curved pvc?"

  • Great tutorial!!! oh yeah, and really nice drum set!

  • Haha loved the dog houling in the background. Decent tutorial though.

  • Verey Clear tutureal but hou much cm 1.50

  • Hey! nice job! your dolly is virtually identicle to mine. Thanks for the video response.

  • ya that how we made it, so thx

  • No probs! Glad my video helped!

  • nice job dude.. but how do u get the sticks on the floor to be still, u know.. so they dont slide around and such? and another one, how much weight can such dolly carry ?

  • well, honestly, the dolly if pretty friggin heavy. So it keeps the pvc still, but if you still wanna make sure it won't move, just duct tape 'em to the floor. and this dolly could carry ALOT of weight. pretty much, it can carry anything that could fit on it, but the thing you gotta be careful with is the wheels. The dolly can hold up anything, but the wheels are only being held together by bolts. The bolts are sturdy for most anything you would wanna put on them, but I would just be careful.

  • Are the wheels supposed to be mounted offset of each other or are they supposed to be lined up?

  • well, you can do it either way. When people put the wheels offset, it is because it makes the dolly work better on turns. So it's pretty much the same, but offset is better because it does the exact same thing as if they were lined up, but it works even better on turns.

  • can do redtail, and i cant wait for your stedicam to come out. see you on the forums. im punkandska66, aswell as BandDfilms
