Artest, however, was not on a team where one of the primary focuses was defense, whereas Wallace was. They were "assigned" to one another, and Artest seemed to want to let Wallace know he wasn't afraid by playing him aggressively. I think, on the one play, Artest hammered Wallace, and Wallace shoved him back. That's when the place went nuts.
