At 3:01 he says it---so they SLIP right into the bulkhead as opposed to the THREADED pipes for RR tanks THREADED( NON SLIP) bulkheads.
fucking snails... first night i got the tank set up i get woken up at 4 in the morning cuz a snail got in my drain pipe and the pump was sucking air... i got it out then later in the arvo THE SAME DAY another snail!

A single overflow tube can be used, if you put a plastic mesh tube down around the overflow tube... It would then work as a normal overflowcomb :
