I played I lot on Nintendo 64 during the 90's. A very funny game, but shortly went underrated in Brazil after newest games for the Nintendo 64 came out in the stores.
I usually hate full-priced remakes, but Super Mario 64 DS is so much better than the original version. Sure, there's no analog stick on the DS but there's so much more content that it really deserves a higher price point, plus the visuals were mind-blowing on a handheld back in 2004. I really hope Nintendo adds a bunch of new content to Ocarina of Time 3D, otherwise there's no way I'm dropping $40 for it(unless it's bundled with Majora's Mask, but that's not happening).
@FFFan3445 I found the controls on the DS very stiff and clunky. Mario 64 was later sold for that reason. I found it a nice piece of nostalgia, it was the better version, but those controls.... very frustrating.

@Leetsnugglage I agree that PS1 has a lot of good software content, and for sure way better RPGs. You do however have to appreciate so many gaming miracles from the N64, that were revolutionary, FPS changing Goldeneye, 3-D platform at its greatest-Super Mario 64 and Zelda was a good action adventure. Mario Kart was a fun racing game and in my opinion N64 was (and in a way still is) a very social gaming system.

That is her real name, you know that. She even says it at the intro of the game but to be fair she does say her nickname after that. I guess people back then called her Toadstool because that was the only name given, but stuck with Peach when Mario Party came out that gave her the nickname a permanent name. It's like how Robotnik is now being called Eggman because it was a nickname and they just sorta stuck with Eggman as an official name.
I find it very sad that the only way people play this game now is on emulators. The only real way to play Super Mario 64 is on a real Nintendo 64. 'Nuff said.

I don't like Super Mario 64, and I don't really like the voice the reviewer expresses himself. But at least he uses arguments unlike YOU. So better...
Btw the reason I don't like SM64 is the camera, the childish super low-poly graphics and N64, which was completely unknown in my country, for a reason!

@BillyCauseyjr Remember when these reviews were written. Toy Story at the time was the milestone of graphical excellence. I remember 'Toy Story-like graphics' being a buzzphrase used by some head honchos at Nintendo to express the 'potential' of the N64.

@n8dogg87 I don't believe that these were written in the 90's, the review make referances to the other revies sometimes (castlevania) and Navigtr got pissed and acted as if the Final Fantasy 7 review was written by them.

These segments weren't made by navgtr, they were originally part of a show broadcast on a public access channel in Maryland during the 90s called Flights of Fantasy. The narrator, George Wood, died four years ago.

This fucking guy is talking about PLOT? in a MARIO GAME? when did mario games ever have or need a plot to them. ever since the original super mario games, its just been about one thing: Save the dumbass princess from the giant fucking dinosaur. plots were never necessary in Mario games and that's the way they kept it with the loose plot of Super Mario 64. Anyone bitching about lack of story in a Super Mario game doesnt know shit about video games. PERIOD

I've never been able to find the origin of these reviews, but they're hilariously bad and cannot be real.
I mean he pans some of the most beloved games of that era and extols some of the shittiest.

it's from a show that aired on a public access channel in Maryland between 1992-2000.
It was called Flights of Fantasy and dealt with pretty much the whole geek culture. Video game reviews were only part of it.

Some stars are impossible to find?
There are hints in the beginning of the level
Blast the Wall (blast = cannon)
Watch for rolling rocks (=pit where rocks roll into.)

i played the remake of the game (DS lite) you can play as yoshi, wario, mario, and luigi, i pwn at most chars but, you cant find yoshi on top of the castle, this ruins the game for me, lol

Although I enjoy the fact that this dude puts time into all these reviews... his opinions half the time I don't agree with at all. "Too short." "After a few days it gets old." Yeah, maybe this nigga doesn't remember that this game BLEW everyone away when it came out. All I wanted that year was an N64.
Plus, what type of fucking "plot development scenes" do you want? You want to play this game, not watch it.

God this review sucks... he said something about "impossible to find" stars??? THAT'S WHAT THE STAR NAMES ARE FOR!!! They give hints to where the stars are!! God... I'm glad I was only 6 when this game came out and didn't need to worry about reviews -_-

That is her real name, you know that. She even says it at the intro of the game but to be fair she does say her nickname after that. I guess people back then called her Toadstool because that was the only name given, but stuck with Peach when Mario Party came out that gave her the nickname a permanent name. It's like how Robotnik is now being called Eggman because it was a nickname and they just sorta stuck with Eggman as an official name.
