I find the part about the taxi driver hits me. I've had love spend awhile with me before, and it left me soon thereafter. I see myself as the taxi driver in this song. As for Love and Hate, well, I think Love spent some much-needed time away from Hate, and I think Hate realized how miserable he was without her. I worry though that he probably turns his abuses toward her when she's around, rather than at himself. In any event, this is such a very beautiful song.

I think most of the people on here are missing the point. The last lines are LOVE apologizing for being "gone for so long" (her vacation), NOT Hate apologizing for being out late/drunk/an asshole. He treats her with no respect, she blames herself. Reminds me of Pearl Jam's "Better Man".

I think he apologizes for how he is, and she starts saying he shouldn't feel bad about it, because they belong together, and that she "shouldn't have been gone for so long". He's no good when she's not around, and maybe, when they're both together (like I think someone's wrote before) he turns into some Love himself, stops being Hate you know.

Indifference is a lack of care. One closes their eyes to emotion and passion when they are indifferent. It may be easier, but without emotion, there is no love or its antithesis...hate.

@sorayasaki yeah, a lot of their songs are hard to understand...i think it can be interpreted many ways, and I guess one is that love is a woman, and the different places represent her different boyfriends. Hate, however is her final destination, who needs the love the most. in the end, they both turn into love.
