Hey! I met "Mitch" and got to know him a few years before his death....his wife and my late Mom were great DAR buddies. I have personally autographed copy of his book, as well as his 'GI Joe'.........his office was a hoot to visit; humbled this lowly Viet era E4.

R.I.P. Colonel Paige, a true american hero. I had the honor of knowing the Colonel, and going to lunch with him on his 82nd birthday. I will forever cherish the photos I have with him and tell his story to anyone that will listen.

Opps...Mitchell Paige held that ridge line with his michine gun section and with "Water cooled" michine guns!! He was the last man standing and then he led a bayonet charge. Retired as a Col. died 15 Nov2003. He was my friend! !!
