@WretchedDrake Actually, no it won't. I own a Cobra, and a geared GT won't beat me, and I can't beat an STi. Close, but not quite. I've never seen a GT of that vintage with JUST 4.10s go 12.80s, but I have seen a stone stock STi go 12.87.

The 99-04 GT mustang has more hp than that at the wheels, and with a lower drivetrain loss (apprx. 15% for the GT, 22-23% for the WRX both manual), I would hope that it would beat it top end. I love the WRX and STi, and I'm still considering selling my cobra for an STi, but no car does everything best.

The 05-10 is the same engine basically, just with different cylinder heads. And there's so much more aftermarket parts for that 4.6 than the new 5.0...The new 5.0 is fast stock, but hard to find parts for right now, and expensive when you do find them.

My 95 thunderbird with the 4.6 was beating by the previous owner for about 150,000 miles and me for over 60,000 miles and has never broken down. The only thing it started doin at over 200,000 miles was smoking oil and one of the rings got worn from constant beating, big whoop. my friend nate krauss's 99 subaru legacy's automatic has problems going into drive from park at 90,000 miles. subaru's go n go?

A lot of people say that about AWD cars at high speed but I disagree. If you think about it in a RWD car you have the 2 rear tires just pushing the car along and FWD they are pulling it, duh I know lol. But with AWD all 4 tires are working to get that acceleration. There are 2 tires just sitting there spinning. So why in the world do people always say AWD slows you down at speed. If that is the case then why is the Bugatti Veyron AWD?
Only slightly heavier and has about 17% drive train loss from the flywheel on awd. BUT all the wheels are creating drive. 300whp in a wrx is the same as a mustang gt with 300whp so depending on weight and tq either car could win in the high end. My 03 had 400whp and I wasted the hell out of cars on the top end on several occasions.
@408Mustangs Good response lol. I am not saying that RWD is bad at all just the AWD doesn't slow you down at higher speeds. What is the confirmed top speed for the Aero anyway? Don't know if I have ever officially heard what it was. But my point is that having AWD doesn't slow you down and for high speed RWD or AWD is the best. Certainly not FWD.

Best I think I got was around 23mpg, now fully built im getting 18 mpg with very modest highway driving, If I have it tuned to a higher Psi I get even less. no its the same Ej205 turbo, duel over head cam, 8.2-1 compression ratio. even says on the block and head code. the big issue wrx's have is diffs. they tend to blow diffs if you over launch them
why would you put 400,000 miles on a 96 car thats ridiculous. but yah mostly as far as wrx's go i hear the trans is trash especially under a heavy load after awhile
the tranny is rated up to 400 whp/ 450 ftlbs, but the thats it. really the only thing you relaly need to chang in them is the diffs, swap to sti for about 3 grand for front, rear, and center diff and you get the adjustable center diff to choose where your power is going
then its the driver that is breaking shit. my cobra is modded and i go to the track every other week, and i do wot runs everyday over 100k miles on problems

Yea baby! Gotta love the lil pony. I got almost the same setup except stage 2 hitechs and 3.73 gears. I also go an edelbrock intake. So im thinkin itd be a damn good race!!

Nice run.. definetly nice both cars.. Im a mustang owner but i give respects to th wrx's theyre mean cars.. but i will say you would have had the gt at a dig.. Mustang only got ya because of the awd vrs the rwd.. You lose the power at higher speeds but get mad launch off a dig. so like i said you would of had him from a dig..

A lot of people say that about AWD cars at high speed but I disagree. If you think about it in a RWD car you have the 2 rear tires just pushing the car along and FWD they are pulling it, duh I know lol. But with AWD all 4 tires are working to get that acceleration. There are 2 tires just sitting there spinning. So why in the world do people always say AWD slows you down at speed. If that is the case then why is the Bugatti Veyron AWD?

More power is lost with AWD then RWD. Also awd is heavy compaired to fwd/rwd.

Only slightly heavier and has about 17% drive train loss from the flywheel on awd. BUT all the wheels are creating drive. 300whp in a wrx is the same as a mustang gt with 300whp so depending on weight and tq either car could win in the high end. My 03 had 400whp and I wasted the hell out of cars on the top end on several occasions.

@408Mustangs Good response lol. I am not saying that RWD is bad at all just the AWD doesn't slow you down at higher speeds. What is the confirmed top speed for the Aero anyway? Don't know if I have ever officially heard what it was. But my point is that having AWD doesn't slow you down and for high speed RWD or AWD is the best. Certainly not FWD.

@meevwj01 Thats a negaive on that one dumbass. GTs with those mods can get 30mpg. Mine got 25mpg stock, my buddies with bolt ons, full exhaust and diablo tuner got 30 on the way to ocean city. Eat it dipshit.

@joe735 I have an 02 GT and even when i bought it stock it never got 30mpg...ever. Not even close. Best I think I got was around 23mpg, now fully built im getting 18 mpg with very modest highway driving, If I have it tuned to a higher Psi I get even less. Wishful thinking...I wish I got 25 or even more.

you got a majical stang than, each stang ive owned has been a peice of shit. wiring issues all over the place on the first one. the second one had to replace, port and polish the heads and they warped after 2 months of daily drifing

its not the exact same motor. it might be the same block but the work done to it is different especially when a turbo is involved. oh ya hondas blow up constantly cause people dont realize they arent built to handle almost 400 hp on the street with stock bottom end

no its the same Ej205 turbo, duel over head cam, 8.2-1 compression ratio. even says on the block and head code. the big issue wrx's have is diffs. they tend to blow diffs if you over launch them

the tranny is rated up to 400 whp/ 450 ftlbs, but the thats it. really the only thing you relaly need to chang in them is the diffs, swap to sti for about 3 grand for front, rear, and center diff and you get the adjustable center diff to choose where your power is going

@bradlyw420 No sadly the warranty was out dated, and the talon was fun to beat on , but i was surprised to how slow the thing actually was. and working on a 4g pisses me off cuz the stupid thing always took to much work, like the head studs welded them selves into the head, we had to drill and rethread the head that was the most simple work we did on that car
