I have mixed feelings about this update. On the plus side, the story about St. Nick was fun and Crusader's Crossbow is the sexiest weapon ever. Free crate keys and double drop rates were also good gifts from the Announcer herself.

But on the downside, the new weapons aren't really thought-through. While the Boston Basher looks cool, noone would use it. The Jag on the other hand, does nothing significant. It's just filler.

@MrSoulwat It's all about where and who you are playing with. I see the trading economy and hats as a side mini game. Honestly trading is probably 1/3 of my game-play experience. The rest is playing fun little pub games with serious matches sprinkled in here and there. I'm enjoy competitive TF2 more than competitive Counter-Strike!!!

valve arnt forcing you to buy the weapons, you can just craft them or wait for them to drop normally, and so what if valve gets money its what companys do, valve have made it so tf2 has had loads of free updates, whats the harm in making more money so there able to release updates quicker.

I like the new gamemode because its new and enovating,for example these people have been whining about:The FaG(overpowered) well now you only see shortstops with they're anoying sound its like a mini Natascha that combines with the Force-a-Nature,now people are looking for the Medic's crossbow(wich is pretty awesome) and the Loch'n'Load.

@Seabass307 I'll agree that with every pre polycount update the "Fresh new gameplay mechanics" added to the game and increased the entertainment value. but this most recent one has take my Entertaiment down a long way. Don't ask me why it;s just this perticular one. you've also given mean idea

i will give it a while for these weapons to either nerfed/buffed.. about 2 months.. if i am not satasfied i'll probably stop playing then.

my opinion of no more weapons still stands mind you.

@nintendomanofgod The weeks that follow a major update are always over saturated with people experimenting with new weapons. This will settle down and a new balance of weapon choice will be established. It is inappropriate to judge the new additions overall until that time because the current environment they exist in is so exaggerated. I see this happen in every major update. People will stop experimenting, valve will patch, everyone will be happy. Remember TF2 is a service, not just a game.

The brass beast finally gives a reason to use the shotgun, if there was a OP weapon with the update, it was definitely the brass beast. (It takes longer to rev up than it takes to take out a heavy from full health.)

I find that jumping down onto the cart in badwater while revving will annihilate the other team in a matter of moments.

Nope, the crates revert back to normal crates, same with the festive keys reverting back to regular keys.
