  • Holy crap. No way - that's Carl Freakin' Sagan at 4:17! That's a pre-fame, pre-Cosmos Sagan when he was mostly known for his role in the Mariner mission, and I don't think I've ever seen him so young.

Seeing him in a show on paranormal stuff is truly weird. While I can watch these, go along for the ride and have fun, I appreciate seeing Sagan at the end to be a grownup about all this.

  • @CristinaFernandez Haha, this is not paranormal stuff, it's ancient history.

All what you've seen in the video are sites you can visit yourself in many places in the world.

Sagan was a delusion to me, in the past he impressed me, but later I came across bad things he did, he ridiculed many scientists, he denied ancient discoveries and never liked the idea of Aliens.

A cosmos man not fascinated by aliens???

Despite all the evidences we have, he sounds more like a show man puppet to me, sorry

  • Whoa, whoa - Dr. Carl Sagan was affilliated with...this show? No way! What exactly did he do?

  • @CristinaFernandez He is making money with his long series of video tapes, in case you miss it.

  • @AnasTangi There are worse ways to make money in this world than creating a video series to teach real science education and instill the public with a sense of wonder about what we truly know about the universe.

Like for instance, receiving a criminal conviction for fraud and embezzlement in Switzerland like Mr. van Daniken? After his release from prison he was smart enough to figure out you can trick people out of their money in ways that don't involve actual outright crime.

  • @CristinaFernandez I know the history very well, but the personal life of a man has nothing to do with his science. Sorry if I go a bit ahead, but you sound like the first years' student who worships the commercial idols, mainstream science does this effect on the young student.

FYI Sagan was nothing that important, you are not talking about Nikola Tesla, Niels Bohr, Galilei or Leonardo Da Vinci, Sagan was just a "repeater" who denied everything to keep his place in the media.

    Just more facts

  • "Allow yourself the freedom to wonder".

  • red rocks bitches!

  • History Channel remade this and turned it into 2 series.

    It's that Great Pyramid.

    Too Too perfect

  • I liked this and especially the speaker's voice is amazing.

  • Great show

  • 'not a smidgeon of evidence' says carl sagan..MATE! THERES A BLIMMIN ROCKET PAINTED ON THE WALL IN JAPAN 2000 YRS GO!

  • @irmensul13 Right, Sagan was one of those uptight arrogant scientists who made their career by talking only about banal science in order to be always right.

He was a pain in the arse to Erich Von Däniken and ridiculed Alien theories. What did he want for a evidence, an Alien to land a cook a diner for him?

But when NASA financed him he was more than happy to draw a childish disc to be launched in space as a message for Aliens. The probability for and Alien to find the disc and UNDERSTAND it???

  • @AnasTangi

Believers in the paranormal have an extremely naive definition of what constitutes "proof." Cave drawings that sorta-kinda look like rockets if you squint aren't proof.

The idea people in the past were visited by aliens is an extraordinary claim and therefore requires extraordinary proof and not flimsy recitations of imaginative folklore.

While the show is incredibly entertaining and has great music, it's important for someone to be a grownup about all this.

  • @CristinaFernandez I am not influenced by music of videos, and being grown up doesn't mean rejecting everything, that is arrogance and prejudice.

Your definition of Paranormal is misleading, we are not talking about ghosts here, this is ancient history.

I really hope you are mature enough to not deny the magnificence of the Pyramids and the sites in South America, and as a qualified eng. I did the counts myself to figure out how impossible it is to build a Pyramid with todays' technology.

  • @CristinaFernandez I believe you are the only one who's focus is on the music in the background, and your adoration towards Carl Sagan tells that you catch everything but the facts.

The great science has nothing to do with TV leaders like your loved Sagan.

Our technology is still having a hard time to understand how did they lift stones of 1000 tons up to 100/300 feet.

If you didn't get this point, I advice you to stop talking about science, paranormal is your ignorance of the OBVIOUS FACTS.

  • thank you for taking the time to post this.

  • Gotta love Carl Sagan. He summarised this program perfectly, "You can't exclude the possibility [of alien visitaion in our ancient past] but there's not a smidget of evidence that is compelling."

  • Highly speculative, and somewhat misleading narrative, the tone of which all but assumes that the mere existence of the ancient sites (places of worship, paintings, sculptures etc.) included could only be due to contact with extraterrestrials. Nonetheless, it's fascinating to consider that may have been the case! Anyway, I'd watch anything narrated by Rod Serling - a true legend of television.

  • Rod Streling-- the best narrator ever!!!

  • A more reasonable explanation is that there have been many advanced and not so advanced civilizations that have lived side by side and come and gone in the 4+ billion years this planet has existed. Wiped out by their own hand or natural disasters. Then time and plate tectonics eventually erase most if not all evidence. However during some of these cycles the time span between civilizations is short causing an overlap of conflicting evidence as to what the past was really once like.

  • @Markmh835 Besides in your "respected" texts it says how grand the universe is, logically it doesn't make sense that this is it, and you claim that people need to educate themselves? Hmmm, many others and I believe that it is you who needs to broaden there education. Here's where you start: Get over yourself, and believing you are so much smarter than everyone else, cause your not, then remove your head from main stream media, science, and religious beliefs asses.

  • LMAO!! @ Markmh835. Are you serious with that comment, go read respected science books from Universities? Kinda like in the past those "respected" text that stated that the world was flat, or we were the center of the universe? Just cause you closed your mind like the folks of old, doesn't mean the rest of us have to. It's people like you with your Narcissistic human thinking that continues to hold humanity back.

  • Somewhere in a galaxy far far away: "Honey did you get the mail today?"

"Yeah," Holds up the space greeting card. "Just junk mail from those darn earthlings again."

  • JPL was started by Jack Parsons, a major occultist, business partner of Scientologist L. Ron Hubbard, and major disciple of The Great Beast, Aleister Crowley. Look up Parsons on Wikipedia. He wrote many books on the Occult. Strange times we live in.

  • The chances of "aliens" showing up just in time for 2012 +/- 2 yrs. is 0% for all practical purposes, but there is a 100% chance something pretending to be "aliens" is coming to help set up the anti-Christ's 7 yr. New World Order. Listen to Hawking, avoid these fake "aliens" at all costs! They really are the grigori - the most evil fallen watchers of Genesis 6 and the book of Enoch- returned to wreak havoc in these last days. Google Image: wandjina or dogu

This film was part of conditioning.

  • i guesse carl did not belive aliens crashed as roswell either,,

  • was that carl sagan before he was

  • Interesting that they end with a quote from Carl Sagan who says that there is not a smidgen of evidence that is compelling. I would agree with his assessment. Of course it is possible, but this film does not build a strong case for it. I saw this as a child in the seventies and was very impressed with the evidence. Seeing it as an adult brings a smile to my face to think how easily I was led in.

  • "SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, has finally received a message from space. It said, 'Send more Chuck Berry!'" - David Letterman. (A disc, containing various music, was also included with the "greeting card" sent into space.

  • More noob science for noob people who didn't pay attention to (or dropped out of) high school science classes. Very entertaining show, but folks, do your own research in respected scientific texts. Go to your local (or university) library, and quit looking up pseudo-science websites on the Internet. They will rot your brain.

  • Is that why you were just watching it?

  • this is the truth about secret societies controlling world economies. noobs open ur eyes and by that i mean use ur brains

  • Hello. Thank you for posting this interesting documentary.

How did you get it? I would like to know because I never see it on DVD or anything and not that many people had VCRs until the late 1970s.

  • @john6380 its called 'chariots of the gods' u can watch it free online. u could buy it tho im sure?

  • @butthead6886 No, I'm talking about 'In Search Of Ancient Astronauts'. I know you can get 'Chariots of the Gods' and i have it, but it isn't as good because its too long and doesn't have Rod Serling.

  • Rod Serling was also the producer and narrator of The Twilight Zone t.v. series of the 1950s and 1960s and Night Gallery of the 1970s. He was a brilliant man who recognized and pointed out many of the unexplained phenomena around us all the time and our human reaction to these stimuli.

  • we owe our history to the stars !!! ? else nasa exists ? !

  • WOW!!! mom's kinda hot for a cartoon !. i mean she's no supergirl or wonder woman. and by no means is as hot as vampirella. but shit ! i think " aluminum space chick " is pretty frickin hot anyway !!! if i was an e.t. and saw "aluminum space chick" i'd steer a course for earth and see if earth girls are easy.

  • thanx for posting...ive always been fasinated by stuff like this...dont know if i believe it but still fasinating

  • Me too.

  • i belive in ufo"s without doubt,,,but i dont belive these are landing strips ,it dosent make sense if you can fly across the galaxy why would you need a landing strip ,,we didnt build a landing strip on the moon we just landed on it ,,,or did we

  • When exactly did this Serling guy die? There's a UFO documetary on You Tube done as late as 1980 he's the host of.

  • Rod Serling died on June 28, 1975 of a heart attack after undergoing open-heart surgery.

  • 0h, 0k.

    He did some rad films.

Big smoker and drinker I think, glad I never got involved with alchohol and tobacco.

  • Thanks for posting this amazing movie SearchForTheUnknown. You rock dude!!!

  • Oh great we sent them space porn.

  • lol, I wonder what the aleins must have thought about the naked chick

  • An anthropology professor I knew proposed that the South American structures, carvings, etc. could have resulted in hallucinogenic drug use. We do know that shamans/priests used lots of naturally occurring drugs and many of them produce the sensation of flight.

  • Watch and rated them all. Good stuff that isnt mainstream anymore. Thanks!

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • SOMETHING happened. You can't deny that.

  • I farted.

  • Many thanks for the video .

    Greetings from Brazil
