@makaveli6698 the Anarchy will be a lot longer, cleaner, and more angular on the backend. The Taboo will be more similar to the World Beater in that it will start reading the midlane earlier and have a smooth, continuous arc on the backend. The Taboo is the most aggressive and versatile of the three so I'd say the Taboo. However, if you're not looking to replace the World Beater but rather have a ball that compliments it I'd say the Anarchy. It'd be a good step-down ball or just another option
Of course Tony looks bored, he makes it look easy. This ball will really help the rev-challenged players out there like myself, can't wait to drill it up.
I like what Storm is doing with the Pearl additive dull finishes seems to give a different look on the lane. Im trying to come back to bowling after about two years off. I bowl in 2 different houses 3 leagues(For now till i can get back into tournament shape). Im looking into a benchmark ball from Storm. I am Rev dominant and throw around 16 mph playing around 3rd arrow. Any suggestions from the guys at bowlingball? or Anyone else. Any advice is welcomed thanks.
@IRIEBIEL If you want a Polished bowling ball then i would suggest going with the Anarchy, Virtual Energy, or Prodigy. If you want a Matte ball, then i would suggest the Virtual Gravity or the Marvel. I've only personally owned the virtual gravity, but it is by far the most aggressive ball that i have ever thrown.
@IRIEBIEL The Reign Supreme would be perfect. Your benchmark ball should be something in the upper middle of your arsenal, hook wise. You want something predictable that's not jumpy. Since you're rev dominant, anything more aggressive than the RS couldn't be considered a benchmark ball.
@bowlingballcom Thanks a lot for the advice. I will definitely look into the RS. Believe it or not I overlooked that ball and now that you mention it, it seems to be a perfect fit.
@bowlingballcom What's the difference between the Anarchy and Invasion, it's just the coverstocks, right? If so, what does pearl do, let it go longer?
@MurderousPandas That is correct. The pearl will allow the ball to skid more through the front part of the lane, saving it's energy for the back end of the lane. This saved energy will result in a stronger reaction once it reaches the dry part of the lane. More angular.
hey bowlingballcom.... right now im 13, carry a 184 average, and i have the 2furious and bedlam. do u think this ball could be more than my bedlam in angularity, and longer+more angular than my 2furious? could it fit inbetween the two?
The way Tony drilled his ball it has a balance hole in it, what would happen if you didn't drill in the balance hole.. what would be the affect on the ball ?
@Amasian21 actually PBA states that there must be a counter weight (balance hole) drilled in every ball to make it PBA leagel. So it has to be there to bowl in high money leagues and tourneys otherwise without the balance hole it would cause the ball to turn up faster and stronger
then next time dont make urself sound like an Ahole doing it. "is that it? im way higher than that n im 13" sounds like a pretty Ahole comment to me. keep getting better tho, im not going to sit here and bash you. i just dont see why you made that first comment.
I still like solid reactives than any other but this anarchy is pearl but it saves up oil then use it at the backend with very strong motion.... but Invasion was more monstrous than this....
Here is the deal I am looking for a ball that I cannot control i wanna find something that hooks too much and i havent found it yet this is just a gimmick but its my journey for now haha what are youre suggestions
Question for tony. Im thinking about putting this layout on my anarchy but it looks like this layout is a more smooth layout. Does this ball have a good bit o pop on the back end? Also would this layout be strong enough for thinhs like scorpion or shark? Also I throw the ball just like you do.
@TheBowlingboy300 my advise is choose between anarchy and invasion because both work on super heavy oil it just depends if you want pearl or not. anarchy is just as powerful as invasion. i have both and i love them both so its just up to the person.
@KB24ts6 Really? I absolute love my Virtual Energy and have used it on many conditions, from league to tournament play. It actually pisses me off that I like it so much. I often use a different ball to my own demise because I don't want to be stuck in a rutt of using the same ball all the time.
@johncongdon1976 yeah. maybe it was just me, or the drill on it. but it never wanted to move. im glad you and my dad are having success with them though. i need to use sanded coverstocks or the balls want to slide. i have a bad balance of speed to revolutions.
@KB24ts6 If you get an opportunity to play with layouts then you should take it. Using something that will maximize the flare potential of the ball will help you to use other types of covers. Also, matching a core to a bowler is very important. A faster revving core like the one in the Mutant Cell and Mutant Cell Pearl would probably be good if your speed is higher and rev rate is lower.
@KB24ts6 Typically you want to look for a stronger Intermediate or Mass Bias Differential. This is the difference between the Y and Z axis on the ball. The Cell has a lower MB Diff than the Virtual Gravity, but in most cases will rev up faster. This was actually achieved due to the overall shape of the core. You can simplify this by looking for a ball with a higher flare potential. The Perfect Scale on the site takes in to account all the variables, so this is also a good tool.
every video i watch john is always improving...one, his stance and balance has gotten alot better...two, he lost the wrist brace. i say hes improving alot...oh and nice ball
don't know why tony went with that drilling. The ball is going to try and read/arc and not really have a flippy/strong backend. I'm able to play just right of 4th arrow with the ball, and have my brake point at 5ish on a freash house shot and it comes off the spot hard... I went 267-268-220.lol. At work today. My first three games with the ball. My layout is Pin above the ring, with a 3.5in pin, with the MB kicked out about 2.5in. I ave, 221 and 212 in my two leagues
It's probably just me, but it seems like Tony doesn't rev the ball as much as he used to. His release seems changed since sometime late 2009 to early 2010. I mean, watching the jigsaw video, then the Bank video, the bank is no where near as revved up as it used to be. or at least that's how it looks to me, and I'm probably wrong lol.
@mscall92 It could be that he stopped using inserts and went to natural grip during tha period. He may have changed something, but that could lower his revs.
@Cambobambo1 - probably put the pin over your fingers. but really have your local driller watch you bowl and suggest a drilling. if they want to drill it w/o watching you bowl, go somewhere else.
ok great vid like john reaction the best....good vid overall tony seemed bored with the piece....well everything curly throws looks the same reaction wise minimal diferances if you ask me....ok why sell ebonite brand if you dont truly support it how about some ebonite vids of you guys throwing thier products of all the brands going forward just wondering.....some explanation on one of your shows would be good to know why you dont make vids of thier balls latley
ball looks like crap. Tony showboats too much. Tired of seeing curlie spin the ball down lane. But John does look a ton better. Glad to see he finally quit using the release aid.
@phorcajo i agree, this ball doesnt look that good except for john. i like his layout. but i dont see anything special but a lot of deflection with tony, and curly can use 50 balls and get that reaction. sprry but i'm not buying this one. get a mutant cell pearl or something else.
@cgvfd620 and @buppers22 Thanks for noticing. I am really trying to work on my game. Tony thinks I need to continue using the brace, but I feel more comfortable and free without it.
I have been working on my over all approach, mostly my timing and balance. I used to leave my right foot on the ground to balance myself, which I think was a crutch. That's my own opinion....
