So let me get this straight, these guys are bulldozing an area of woodland, making a farm (in which removing predators was mentioned) and calling this a green home.... what a load of crap- they could just build a green house on flat land without a farm and that would be far far more green.
@6969dazzagazza you're stereotyping. most americans with enough money and time are environmentally conscientious, its just the culture and packaging of major manufacturing and big time stores. If you want hope to change the way a country spends and uses resources, you need to change the culture of the way things are run on a bigger scale.
@SignificantSkolriro I didn't mean to offend, but to say that most Americans with enough 'money and time' are environmentally conscientious is immediately confirming the stereotype of wasteful, apathetic, greedy nation. To suggest that a person needs 'time and money' to be less wasteful and less harmful to the environment demonstrate how bad it really is in the USA.
I've travelled the US and was shocked at the size of the cars, meals, homes, and waste.
See this is where you're wrong, it does require more money and time to be environmentally conscious in the U.S. because this country was founded 300 years ago with no clue about how we affect the environment. This sets us on a trend to be wasteful. Companies offer us certain products that are cheap and easy to obtain, but the side affects are that it effects the environment more. Whereas organic food and eco-friendly cars cost 75% more than a burger or a basic, cheap, gas guzzling Cadillac.
@lamya1961 When planting trees it is definitely important to know the Genus and Species. These classifications will tell you what to expect from the tree as it grows. Mature height and spread are essential to know when deciding where to plant a tree. It’s also good to know if a tree is deciduous or evergreen and if it produces any type of fruit.

Americans are 4% of the worlds population, but use 25% of the resources. I'm pleased some Americans are starting to really think about their impact.
