  • @ant1ph0n euphemism for what?

  • @notoriousnews replace "penicillin" with "penis"

  • @rustycooledge Actually, just look up Mr. Show The Last Donut. It's there.

  • @rustycooledge Oh man I totally agree. That intro with David's hipster at the doughnut shop with Bob's "droopy" is one of the best bumpers ever. That's what I was actually looking for right now.

  • i just realized the penicillin ditty was a euphemism.

  • @ant1ph0n hehe, never thought of it that way!

  • These guys are so weird. I admire the way they took chances on these absurd ideas ..... thank you.

  • @WetKant kid jersey said thank you

  • I don't know why the audience isn't laughing at the end, I love Bob and David vacuuming at the end.

  • One of my favorite bits ever.

    Brilliant!!!

  • this just inspired me to pick up my great grandpa's megaphone and start crooning about my smartphone

  • @zbradley1990 "Smartphone! Baby loves my smartphone. Appin' all day loooooong".

  • Electric Tie Rack is one of the greatest songs ever written!

  • I'm so starting a Dickie and Kid Jersey tribute band. Anyone know where I can get a megaphone like that?

  • why the f teh crowd don't let him finish 'lectric sportsbra?? he was onto something with that one..

  • Megaphone crooning, or as we called it back then, megaphone crooning.

  • Invents a counterfeit money machine right in front of the feds, what balls!

  • David is fucking magical when he sings "electric tie rack"

  • Aeroplane? I thought that was a hit for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

  • everybody's saying it now...

  • I do remember back when only Dickie said "thank you", before it became a fad

  • 9 dicks don't like Dickie and the Kid...

  • Kid Jersey is "rackin up electric ties" lol...........thank you

  • Electric tie rack, it's so nice, moves ties from side to side! Electric tie rack, baby loves it, rackin' up electric ties! Tankyu! It's always fun to refer back to this sketch with other people who've seen it, especially the counterfeit money machine song or just singing in an old-timey voice. <3

  • he coined the term ROFL

  • 9 idiots missed the like button.

  • Can't think about sports bras without that gingle in my head ! of course, I usually think about tits more than bras, oh well ! with Ohbummer in the white house, I usually think about the Mulattosaurus, the monster made up of all races with a pinch or sand crab from the episode with "Byron De La Beckwith, Racist in the year 3000. Ya can't trust a man whut's made of GAS !!!

  • LOL even the government agent coming for conterfeit money machine man is perfect for the movies of the time. Mr. Show was fucking genius.

  • Makin' money all day long!!! LMAO

  • Baby loves it; rackin up electric ties !!

  • the ties aren't electric. wtf?

  • "Coupon the Movie" was kinda lame, but "Coupon the Movie, the Ride" was awesome.

  • This has been my favorite Mr. Show sketch since I first saw it on HBO when it was new. I've seen it many times on the dvd's and on this youtube clip, but only just now I notices that they are singing about the vacuum cleaner and carpet sweeper they're using at the end. It's nice that this sketch is so genius there's still new stuff to find after all these years.

  • @Machohervey :

Yes! I love that part! I'm pretty sure they're saying something like "electric vacuum cleaner" and "acoustic vacuum cleaner." Beyond hilarious.

  • Lmao I fucking love this.

  • the funny thing about the electric tie song is that cross says "rackin up electric ties". i didnt catch that until several views

  • Electric Tie Rack I remember that.

  • MAKE YOUR MONEY AT HOME!!!!!

  • I want to hear AIRPLANE!

  • yes, electric sports bra!!!

  • "Racking up electric ties"

  • You still got it kid...thank you

  • buncha crap, buncha bullshit

  • Electric Sports Bra.... why Metallica didn't do that instead of 'Enter Sandman', I'll never know. They woulda been HUGE!

  • sports bra is the best song ever!

  • world wide web

    world wide web

    surfin porn all daaaaay looooong

    thank you.

  • There's little audience reaction because the skit isn't laugh out loud funny.

It truly is one of their best skits. While I do not laugh out loud, I do appreciate it's humor, and smile watching it. The skit ends on a note as sad as the passing of time.

  • damn that "Kid Jersey"!

  • Damn, that little tune could get stuck in your head. I'm fucking singing everything I'm doing now. "Gettin' a drink, don'tcha know I'm gettin' a drink.." Ugh.

So much awesomeness in this sketch I"m not even gonna bother to write it all.

clearly, you all agree & see the genius, too. Fucking brilliant.

    ..Thankyou!

  • "Sports Bra - baby don't jiggle around"

  • TRAVELS AROUND IN TIIIIIIIME

  • bloody brilliant. very original.

  • "He coined the term! Everybody's saying it now.."

  • dickie crickets!

  • This was based on an Al Jolson bio where they would talk about how he had a beautiful voice and when they would show Al singing he sounded just like Dickie and The Kid.

  • Nothin' but a bunch of crap... Buncha bullshit...

  • Nothin' but a bunch of crap... Buncha bullshit...

  • What's your opinion on season 1?

  • make your own money at hooooome HAHa

  • "Nothing But A Bunch of Crap"

  • To the person downthread who wondered why they used megaphones in this sketch:

Microphones as we know them today weren't good enough to use widely until the mid-1920s.

Before then, performers' voices had to carry, and there were times when some pop singers really did have to use megaphones on stage in a big music hall.

  • Just as funny as Coupon: the Movie!

  • From the same episode, too.

  • This is going to sound WAY lame...but Tom Kenny completely sells this one...and towards the end lends a certain meloncholy to it that is just awesome....

    you still got it kid

    ...thank you

  • Not a lame comment at all, Tom Kenny gives the bizarre (but funny) premise sketch a sense of geniune sentiment!

  • 1:55 is amazing

  • Based on a true story...

  • 1:07" He coined the term, everybody is saying it now". This skit can get funnier when you notice things you did not at first. It is a classic.

  • 20 bucks says that in the next 5 years there is going to be some shitty alt-rock band with the name "electric sports bra"

  • LOL

  • oh god, you're absolutely right.

  • @whoandtheha alt rock? never heard of it

  • @whoandtheha, and not "Dickie Crickets"?

  • @whoandtheha Done and done... I started up a band with my friends called "Electric Sports Bra." We sound like shit...

  • Comment removed

  • @syncopated84 so then.....you owe me 20 bucks?

  • Love this sketch. Definitely in my top 5 all time.

  • You actually got it down to 5? I can't do it.

  • Comment removed

  • Buncha bullshit!!

  • My friend likes that line.

  • i just realized that they're singing "vacuum cleaner, vacuum cleaner" at the end.

    i. love. them.

  • ... thank you!

  • I loved Mr. Show

  • I was laughing so hard I was in tears and couldn't breathe the first time I saw this.

  • This bit got me into this show way back when. "Rackin' up electric ties" for the win, as the kids say. Top notch.

  • Comment removed

  • Elevators DO go up and down! It's funny because it's true!

  • Maybe my favorite Mr. Show sketch. Tom Kenny flat out steals it. I swear he sounds just like the same old guy they dig up for every PBS doc.

  • This is the one thing I never forgot about Mr. Show. The cymbal-stop at the end of each song just captured that period effect perfectly. :)

  • I sometimes find myself singing "Electric Sports Bra". This is of course almost impossible to explain to other people.

  • haha.. I always find myself singing elevator elevator .. goin up and dooooowwn. yep.

  • i do counterfeit money machine hahahahahah

  • so glad im not the only one still doing this hahaha i love you guys

  • My biddes an' I used to do Time Machine all the time. Hehe.

  • "Rackin' up electric ties... thank you"

  • @Chudhole well at least the apology is built right in

  • Dickie and Kid Jersey headlining the "Monsters of Megaphone Tour" of 1929?? If I could go back there in the Time Machine Dickie sang about, I would pay scalper prices to see that! I dug Mr. Show so much. David Cross rules and I've always thought Bob Odenkirk should be a bigger name than he is.......Best Week Ever's host Paul F. Tomkins also did good work on Mr. Show. Good times......

  • "racking up electric ties"

  • xD I freaking love this sketch. Mostly because I've watched so many PBs documentaries.

  • i love this clip!!.i think of mr show every time i say thank you quickly..!!..BEST SHOW EVER!!..try it on some shrooms even better

  • They have a deleted scene on the DVD where Tom Kenny is talking about Dickie eating "what we used to call" pussy through the megaphone with his "forked" tongue. It's hilarious and I don't know why they didn't include it.

  • Classic!!!

  • "They were the kings of Megaphone crooning. Or as we called it back in our day, 'Megarphone crooning'." Fucking rediculously funny.

  • Good god... this sketch is just too funny. The performances on this sketch are outstanding, from Tom's character, to Bob/David's young and old versions, even John Ennis as the patent guy... everything about this sketch is just pure brilliance.

  • The best part has to be the G-man apprehending Kid Jersey and his counterfeit money machine. Genius.

  • @rkyb4

Any moment of the show where we get to see Jay Johnston is a great moment.

  • They had Megaphone Crooning or at least they had it in singin in the rain! Check it out! I can't believe it is somewhat real!

  • Oh, old people! You so crazy!

  • counterfeit money machine, counterfeit money machine hahahahahaha

  • riiiidin' it up n' doooown!

  • sports bra sports bra

    lifts their separate ways

    sports bra sports bra

    baby dont jiggle around

    wearing it all over townnn....

  • it's "lifts and seperates"

  • Electric tie rack, it's so nice, moves ties from side to side. Electric tie rack, baby loves it, racking up electric ties. Thank you.

  • The idea of them having to invent new things so they can sing about it immediately is one of the most brilliant ideas ever. Such an awesome fucking sketch.

Any chance you could get Car Wash Change Thief Action Squad up here?

  • now its just movies noone goes to see... Buncha crap... Buncha bullshit

hahaha its always funny hearin an old man say that.

  • especially knowing he's spongebob

  • I really fail to understand why there was so little response from the audience in this sketch. I nearly died the first time I saw it.

  • yeah it's one of their best skits. i too busted a gut the first time i saw it, and it still cracks me up. glad it's on youtube so i can just give someone the link, instead of lamely trying to explain the bit to them.

  • Me too. And it's so strangely touching.

  • I listened to some of the commentary on the DVD for this, and they said they based it on some old PBS show were old folks kept saying how wonderful these old singers were, but in reality they thought they were awful. I think Tom Kenny may have come up with it.

  • another amazing skit from underated genious.

    long live Mr. Show!

  • I don't understand the electric tie rack. Is the tie rack itself electric or does it rack up electric ties?

  • it moves the ties from side to side. if you listened to the song you'd know that.

  • yeah if you listen closely he says

"electric tie rack its so nice, moves ties from side to side.

electric tie rack baby loves it, rackin up electric ties"

it's wrong like that on purpose, they talk about it in the commentary

  • I love when Bob is singing "Electric Sports Bra" gets booed and then apologizes

    "sorry....sorry"

  • a piece of absurd comedy AND a brilliant, sly parody of musicological nit-pickery.

  • rackin up electric tieees!

  • This is my favorite Mr. Show skit. In the commentary for this episode on DVD, Bob Odenkirk said he got the idea from watching a documentary on TV about Al Jolson. He said that the people being interviewed who had worked with Jolson thought he was talented, but they hated him. "I was his assistant for 30 years. He was a cruel man. He was cruel to me, but boy could he dance. Then they cut to Jolson, dancing like shit."

  • Oh right, -- that! I thik I remembered it wrong. : )

  • ...and Dickey hit back HARD.

  • "thank you!"

  • "Time Machine" could have been a big hit if people gave it a chance!

  • My favorites are still "Electric Sports Bra' and "Counterfeit Money Machine", even if the last one did get Kid Jersey busted by the feds!

One of my all-time favorite Mr. Show bits.

  • "And he as polite. He would always say: 'Thank you.' In fact, he coined the term. Everyone's saying it now."

  • Hahahaha! This is my favorite skit.

  • Elevator

    Baby Loves my elevator

Can't get enough of my elevator

    ridin' it up and doooown!

  • ...Thank you!

  • Rackin' up electric ties

  • BTW, the old man is none other than Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob.

  • I remember him from even before this when he was the host for Friday Night Videos in the early 90's. Plus he was also Binky The Clown in one of the greatest alcoholic clown movies ever! That was also before Mr. Show.

  • I wish all music sounded like this!!! Especially on the pop charts!

  • Yeah, I'd like to hear Fitty Cent do "Electric Sports Bra".

  • Totally just LOLd imagining that...in slow motion...with all the chicks dancing around his car in the video...but not jiggling!

  • This is one of my favorite Mr. Show skits. What's even funnier is the commentary track on the DVD where Bob Odenkirk talks about how he came up with this skit by watching a documentary on Al Jolson, where those who worked with him said how cruel he was, but boy could he dance!

  • Sounds like Gene Kelly. ^^ But yeah, Mr Show was awesome. A lot better than a lot of recent MadTV episodes...

  • One thing I just noticed recently, and you can see it at :40, is how the Dickie Crickets name on the marquee looks superimposed and fake, lol. Awesome segment - when Jay jumps in to apprehend Kid Jersey on Counterfeit Money Machine, I lose my shit.

    "You still got it, kid."

    "Thank you."

  • "The only decent music ever commited to vinyul!" "It's so pure it HURTS!"

  • It's so hard to post clips like these because they have no definite start and end. The clip before this is funny as well, but I can't upload the whole episode. lol. "Did you watch Sanford & Son last night?"

  • "I only watch foreign films"

  • IMO, the excellence of Mr. Show (like Upright Citizens Brigade) lies in taking the familiar sketch format and revitalizing it through such devices as seamless flow (although in DVD commentary, B&D admitted that it was a bear to write transitions for every piece).

  • Genius!!! Love all the guys from Mr Show! And the girls too! Thanx for sharing!

  • Or as we called it back then, Mega-phone crooning.

I know, I hate it when people post comments that the video says. But I seriously love that line.

  • "Electric Sports Bra." What a great name for a band!

  • Love it when bob gets old timey

  • "...and he was polite"

  • Just shampoo

  • "people were all megaphoned out." I LOVE this sketch, it's too funny!

  • this one and pit-pat/globochem are the best!
