The reason that Chrono Trigger really appealed to me was Toriyama's art style. I've been a huge DragonBallZ series fan when I was a kid, and a big Dr.Slump fan as well. I adore Sandland as well. All his artworks are so beautiful.

Seeing Chrono Trigger being made by one of my favourite artists was such a pleasure. I can't wait to buy this on the DS.

I supposed I could have used Lucca's theme, but her theme is also the battle victory music in Chrono Cross... strange.

I can't believe that some people still doubt or don't know that CT had the character design made by Akira Toriyama. Really, GOOGLE IT. It's not that hard and it's a lot better than do stupid questions on YT.

I personally don't like that Toriyama did the character design, it's not versatile - which lead to people telling stupid things like "Crono looks like Goku 8)". They do, because of Toriyama art style. Truth is, despite DB success, CT would look much better if made by Nomura.

@BinaryDood Well I mean it is your opinion and I probly wont be able to change it, but graphics arent everything, besides, the graphics are like the 'cel-shaded' graphics of the 90s....they were quirky and nice....the graphics match the personality of the game.

I WILL however have to argue the story though. Sure, on the surface its simple: Alien attacks earth...kill it. But its SOO much deeper than that, (Friendship, courage, wisdom) and there are like 7 different mini-stories in the story.

@Zaphiro635 It's about a group of friends that get sucked through time but end up having to alter both the future and the past in order to stop an alien meteorite and the monsters that worship it from destroying the world. If I called it an RPG, that wouldn't be doing it justice because the game is a blast to play and easy to understand, plus has such a great story! Some people say that this game is better than ANY final fantasy, and some call it one of if not the greatest RPGs of all time!

I have the SNES version. I got it in 97' or 98' I can't remember. But the damn thing stopped saving T^T The DS version looks intriguing though :o Also I noticed a lot of mistakes made in CT too, like even the earliest one. On the box cover Marle is using fire instead of ice XD

I just noticed a mistake cutscene.....why is Frog with Crono and Lucca on the bridge fighting the skeleton? You fight that skeleton before you go get Frog.....Your only team up to that point is Crono, Marle, and Lucca....

If Akira Toriyama really did do the original character designs, I personally think he should have stuck with the more realistic style that he/they use in the character portraits.

Well, looking at the anime art and the character portraits in-game, the portraits seem to be far more realistic. It's most noticeable when you look at Magus' character portrait, as opposed to what he looks like this video.

Both Chrono Trigger and DB are great. Both won in their own areas: CT is one of the best RPG ever and DB is one of the best anime ever.

CT story is much shorter and it's aimed for gaming so it wasn't affected by fillers, for example, you must take it into account when comparing both stories.
