I love the car. I have one almost near identical. 93 mr2 with a custom body kit. My car is metallic green with a carbon fiber hood. From the hood to the back I have a black vinyl stripe. Wide enough so that u can t see any green from a tope view. I live these cars so much. They are just awesome... Lol his turbo sounds like a dolphin xD but his cars a beast.

I just watched the vid again, and i noticed the tial 50 MM BOV, which is known for this type of sound, so NO THIS isn't damaging anything. He is also under 2 Bar boost, which is an incredible amount, and from the sound of it, (im guessing) he probably has a big turbo (Prob a gt30-35r). Compressor surge is a Youtube myth, that was created by people who don't know shit (Not directed to you, because i don't know you). It just REALLY gets on my nerves when people call out things like this.

Ur kit is really over the top, but the MR2 itself is a nice car, Why not go wit a Tom's body kit? it fits this particular cars curves a whole lot betta than the fighter jet lookin body kit u rockin right now. The goal is to have a clean genuine sports car look, not a radio control car look...just sayin..

@EricSV2012 It's a heat exchanger for the air to water cooler. No the trunk mounts and side mounts don't work well for these cars. I owned one years ago and always had heatsoak issues. Glad to see the advancements in keeping this heatsoak down on these MR-2s. I have a Supercharged 350Z now but I still think about my MR-2 Turbo years later. Sweet car!

@JLDG4 you cant hear it? its not the blow off valve its the turbo spooling backwards, it can ruin turbo bearings that can lead to a multitude of issues with intake and turbo areas of the engine. It can be fixed with a bigger BOV or lowering the boost pressure.

But the purpose of the BOV.When u change gears, the butterfly in the throttle body snaps shut for a moment. The air coming from the turbo now has no where to go(cont)

Without it the turbo stalls placing huge loads on the thust bearing and you have to spool it back up on boost. = LAGGY accelleration (which, in this vid, isn't occurring). So in the end, yes this is a TYPE of compressor surge, but it does no harm to the bearings. But on the type i just explained, THAT does harm the bearings, and could also crack the blades.

Its a 5S block with 5S crank grinded to 3S spec. The exact measure of the crank... I cant remember, Sorry.

If your planing on big poweroutput.. Go 5S. The 3s has some weak point. I cracked my 3S block last year at around 400hp. This engine is at 550-600hp right now with no problem AT ALL.

The turbo Im running at the moment is a precision SC61 with integrated WG.

Next year Im gonna use the new precision 6265 with billet wheel for more power ;)

Just curious, are you running the 5s block?

Did you end up grinding down the 5s crank? If so what did you grind the crank down to?

I'm planning on building a 5sgte, and have a 93 5s block to work with. So far I have eagle rods, a 3sgte and 5s block. Not sure if I'm going to go 5s or 3s based stroker.
