  • Good old times. I saw it live.

  • So the IC belt has gone from being the mainevent in WWE's 2nd biggest PPV of the year, to being the opening filler match on RAW in 2012 with cody Rhodes vs Bryan who btw just happens to be the WHC, a belt Flair won 16times, ha times have changed, no wonder wrestling is in the shitter, relying on stars from the past decaded to keep people watching.

  • @sevenforcex

Stop watching then you whiny bitch

  • huge fucking pop......for the INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE.......wow wrestling has truly died.

  • @ITzJaYOhh You've died... Bitch.

  • @TheGreyblood lol are you mad? There will never be this big a pop for the IC title ever again. Wrestling is truly dead compared to how it used to be.

  • @ITzJaYOhh The midcard titles currently hold more prestige than they did a few months ago, nothing like this, but they're working on it.

  • @TheGreyblood The damage has been done to the IC,Tag belts and even the WHC and WWE belts, 10 years of bad booking doesnt fix it self in a couple of months, the truth is this is the state of wrestling on a whole, and people on mass will never take it seriously like in this vid ever again, WWE wouldnt even fill half of wembley if they tried to do a PPV today, its only going to get worse, Im just happy I got to see the best of wrestling before it became stale and poor.

  • I miss these days...

  • this is good but search when goldberg beat hogan for the wcw title. thats a pop

  • There are only a few places that have passionate fans anymore....Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, and anywhere in England or Canada

  • Wrestling is not real? What would I do without these geniuses to guide me.

  • Stone cold helps mankind win wwe title and stone cold beating kane for wwe title

  • Bret and Davey ruke,

  • fail...chris jerichos wwe debut was!

  • holy fucking shit is the wembley packed??????

  • @crazyrahul97

yeah The Golden Days of Wrestling :(

  • R.I.P. British Bulldog

  • The intercontinental championship actually had a meaning back then lol

  • Oh my god as if some of you are saying Cm Punk's pop was better, jesus christ.... This was the greatest pop of all time, this was 20 years ago, not now with modern high definition surround sound speakers to pick everything up, on top of that this is Wembley stadium, a Football stadium, it doesn't have a roof, you put a roof on that place and you would have probably gone deaf... Some morons need to shut up and realise such things before making inane comments

  • Wrestling is fake. Even little kids know this now.

  • @Mozart1220 moveis are fake too, even more with effects.

  • @Mindux518 Apples and oranges.

  • @Mozart1220 yeah agree, movies have too much effects they are scripted and etc, here in pro wrestling entertainment its scripted, there is cool entrances, promos, feuds, factions, fans reactions, many hardcore and brutal things, its all entertainmant, and sometimes we can see bad moves injuries, not like in movies.... dude just dont watch movies ir u hate pwrestling.

  • @Mindux518 Wrestiling portrayed its self as a SPORT for a long time. It was only after people started saying it was fake that it came out as "sports entertainment. Movies have never been anything BUT "fantasy". Again. apples and oranges. Nice try. Wait...no it wasn't.

  • its the 2nd best.

First best was cm punk @ mitb i was der it was electric

  • Nothing compares to CM Punk's pop at mitb

  • @gstar235 AGREED!!! Punk's Pop in Chicago DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO STOP!!! I think management was wondering how to calm down the crowd so they could get on with the match!!! It gets me hype to this day!!!

I am part of The Cult of Personality

  • We know how to make a noise in England ;)

  • for people who say there are bigger pops in wrestling than this, keep in mind two things: this was an outdoor arena, there were more than 80,000 people in there.

  • this was one of the most technically entertaining matches in wrestlign history IMO. Only one that came close for sheer technique was rockers vs orient express royal rumble 91.

  • Ref counted fast :o

  • @HaveApascalSwirl no fast count

  • and remember the stadium they are in is the old wembely it doesn't have a roof to keep the noise in. if this was in a statdium with a roof of equal size the noise level would be deafaning

  • back then When intercontinental Champion meant something

  • I was there but i was cheering on bret so i wasnt one of the ones cheering at the end

  • Amazing really is amazing, hopefully WWE can produce some more classic momments like this.

  • Your'll Never Hear Another Pop Like This One In WWE Today

  • Search on youtube: Hogan ovation and Hogan returns 1/2 - THAT WAS A 22 MINUTES OVATION!!!

    FUCKING AMAZING POP!!!

  • @MediaJustLies Thank you for putting the truth on this comments section. Hogan's pops > any other pops.

  • @MediaJustLies Nah ive seen that, its crap.

  • Comment removed

  • Had wembley actually had a roof the pop would have sounded much bigger than chicago.

  • Vince overselling an IC match

  • @BlackDynamiteNYC What!? Overselling!?!?!?!?! This was the BRITISH BULLDOG VS BRET HART in the heart of British sport, Wembley Stadium, where the BRITISH BULLDOG won the INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP in the MAIN EVENT! That title was as important as the WORLD TITLE! It was one of the GREATEST MATCHES in the HITORY OF SUMMERSLAM!

  • @Jericholic129 The IC title isn't half what the World Title is, and you know it!

Pretty lame main event. I guess the World Champion was on the shelf.....

  • @BlackDynamiteNYC It was different times. Back then, the Intercontinental Championship was the work-horse title and WAS as important as the world title. Plus ANYBODY who has seen the match and knows good wrestling wouldn't say it was "lame" and would say it was phenomenal.

  • @BlackDynamiteNYC I guess you haven't a clue what you are talking about. The World Championship was defended on the mid card.

    Warrior vs Savage.

  • @DrJReefer This was the Main Event because it was in Europe. If they want to bitch out the World Title, that's Vince's business.

  • @BlackDynamiteNYC Yeah, and it was also for the local crowd the biggest attraction on the card and the one that drew all the money. Vince moved Summerslam to London because the UK was a hot market and Summerslam headlined by Warrior vs Savage (again) wasn't drawing a dime in the US

  • @BlackDynamiteNYC The rest of the card stunk to high heaven btw. I know...I was there.

  • It's sad that we will probably never hear a pop that big in wrestling again.

  • What i miss about these days, is guys could go out and wrestle for the IC title, and have a much with far more quality than a World title match...IC title seems to have lost all meaning, and now for that you get a crappy 10minute match...

  • @zomgshiftone11 Can you imagine an ic or a us championship match of this quality in todays wwe. Instead we get 5-10 min matches that usually end with a roll up.

  • @zomgshiftone11 it should get better now with the bringing back of the old title...

  • @rickboy03 There's hope anyway, but it is like Cody had said, it used to mean a person was destined for greatness, and a World title wasn't far off...It went down a bit when Chyna got it, but it started to get saved a little with the likes of Edge, Christian, Jericho, Angle, Benoit and Kane.. and then just plodded along...and then went all the way down the ladder when Santino won...I'm in no way a fan of Cody but still hope he can restore some prestige to it...

  • WM28 main event wade barrett or william regal wins wwe title at wembley stadium, make it happen

  • @elijahhandley are you dumb.......? hahahah

  • @bigleo777

Nah I'm joking :) would be sick though

  • The pop in Chicago was decent. Probably the same as when the New Age Outlaws music used to kick in back in the day. For punk fans to think thats the biggest pop shows what a sorry state wrestling sbeen in. I do like punk though, he's carrying the company.

And before anyone says it, I was at the arena in chicago, I heard the pop first hand. It was dencent, but nothing compared to back in the day.

  • The biggest has to be when the rock returned

  • @Mr3DOR not even close. cm punk MITB best crowd

  • lol @ anyone who thinks CM Punk had a bigger pop than this.

  • everyone needs to shut up

The rock > all off wwe ha

  • @aviles1323 False.

  • @cutejoshie the truth is the truth

  • @aviles1323 Exactly. The aformentioned comment is false.

  • @cutejoshie no no i think its very accurate but let me make it more accurate

THE ROCK STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN ATTITUDE ERA > ALL WWF ha

  • @aviles1323 Stone Cold I can agree with. Attitude Era in general, yes as well. The Rock is a pussy and a whiny braggart.

  • @cutejoshie well some one doesnt like the great one but hey the rocks pop and popularity control over the crowed speaks for itself ....

  • @aviles1323 You mean "ROCKY! ROCKY!" pumped into the arena via the sound system? Yeah, that's impressive.

  • @cutejoshie i never seen that happen i seen the rock entrance make arenas blow i seen people cahnting the rocks name before his theme song even hit i seen the chants drown his theme music and i seen the fans chanting his name just bcs his rocky on and let not for get i seen rock have every arena on there feet and behind every catch phrase i seen the millions and millions off rock fans but what you mentioned ive never seen oh yeah almost for got ive seen the rock get more off pop as a heel

  • @cutejoshie than most superstars ever did in there lifetime baby lmao

  • @aviles1323 That may have been true in like...2001 but when he came"back to Anaheim" this year, I was there and there were more boos than cheers and "ROCKY! ROCKY!" was definitely coming from the speakers. There weren't enough people that cared.

  • @cutejoshie well that odds as i seen the videos over and over and as soon as if you smell hits the crowed when nuts completely nuts and so did every other segment he came out in but i think your liying and you just happen to hate the rock simple as that bcs every other comment that ive read in those videos people who where there have said it was amazing plus i cant seem to hear boos all i hear is rocky rocky oh and yeah and the millions and millions and the fans chanting every one of his

  • @cutejoshie catchphrases now when he mentioned some ne like cena or anyone else then i heard boos but dont make things up and try to me more credible bcs you where there go watch the videos read the comments you where not the only person there and it seems that 90% off the people who comment those videos and say they where there would disagree with you

  • @aviles1323 So now you're resorting to calling me a liar? haha If you were there, that would mean something. I don't like Cena anymore than the next guy, but Dwayne is NOT the same draw he used to be...regardless of the hype the WWE tries to push on us. CM Punk is the new pop.

  • @cutejoshie that made me laugh and made my day not the same draw did yoyu miss his pops did you miss the way the people chanted rocky rocky and your telling me that every time i go watch the rocks return over and over and every comment put up there by people who where there and clearly state how amazing it was are wrong and your right your comical you must really hate the rock but please dont ever compare cm punk a no one to the great one

  • @cutejoshie also as i best recall the wwe universe went on a rock frenzy with his return for the little time he was back it was all rock this rock that there ratings spiked just bcs people wanted to see the rock so how do you say his not the same draw he was you must be blind and deff two in one not an insult simply what seems to be a fact with you oh and yeah have you seen the videos off his return lately on youtube there the most watched wwe videos ever but yeah not enough people care lol

  • @aviles1323 Lol. Let's agree to disagree. You can buy into the WWE hype machine and I'll continue to not be a mark. :)

  • the rock returns to raw hands down

  • Best SummerSlam match ever. Great build up and good promos cut by Bret and Bulldog before the match.

  • You obviously never heard the pop Austin got when coming out and costing the Rock the WWF title against Mankind back in 99'. I genuinely thought there was something wrong with my TV because it was so loud.

  • Sorry, it has been known forever, but the biggest pop ever was when HHH returned to Raw, that shit registered on the richter scale. But, the biggest pop ever anywhere with science to back it up was when the loudest stadium in the world that houses the Seattle Seahawks went apeshit when Lynch went beast mode and destroyed the saints.

  • @DXSUCKIT1990 Could you send me a link to the Lynch destroying the saints? Thanks.

  • summerslam 2012 in wembly...10 year anniversary

John cena vs Wade Barrett...barrett wins his first title ever

    that would be insanely crzy

  • @xizzlex

That would be fucking intense. BOOK IT!

  • @xizzlex ya that would be 20 years buddy, learn how to count.

  • @alexnzxVersion2 sorry the 1 and the 2 are right beside eachother

  • triple h at 2002 was a huge pop

  • weak finish...it lacked climax. There needed to be more suspense

  • SEE thats why WWE should bring a PPV back to the UK

  • the only way a pop like that could happen again is if the hull hart family went to canada and sang the canada athem

  • When was the last time you saw an Intercontiental championship match not only as the main event but the main event at a major pay per view like Summerslam. Something only Davey and Bret could pull off, R.I.P Davey.

  • I agree completely with the two top comments, it sucks that the intercontinental means nothing now :(

  • @GodofWarJCD nah.............. i think that matches Today for title r alot better wrestlers........... Like Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston These two couldnt Hold a candle to them...... and the miz............

Just FUCKIN LOL hart and davey boy were great.......... today IC belt is nothing ..

  • They could easily fill Webley stadium again and have just as good a crowd reaction as this. Why don't they have more PPVs in the UK instead of crappy venues with 14,000 capacity and dead crowds?

  • @gazz12345a uk has Great fanbases... I agree... US has good ones as well. but some r awful and dead.. UK and Ireland. i would agree. but not australia those people fanbase was sickening awful when WWE went their in 2002

  • @gazz12345a: They probibly could fill most football stadiums and maybe Twickenham, Murrayfield and the Millenium Stadium if they did that but I'm not sure if they'd be able to fill a 90,000 capacity stadium so far away from their main audience again.

  • @kanenkitten They might if its Wresltemania and have some big superstars like Austin and rock

  • @HaloSwordKing: Possibly, but do you really think that Vince will want to take his biggest event outside of North America?

  • @kanenkitten Probably not especially with the time difference

  • Jericho "winning" WWF Title to HHH was biggest pop

  • @PivotMakeranimations I agree, Penn State went crazy for Jericho's "win", too bad it was taken away because Jericho never got that big of a pop for any other title win, but compared to this match there were simply way more people Wembly which means more noise

  • the sound quality doesn't do it justice.............trust me.....80,000 at the old wembley stadium.........amazing

  • Bulldog deserved the World Championship.

  • @ShadowGunner82 Wholeheartedly Concur. Best competitor to never win the WWF title

  • Your going to have to change this clip to CM Punks entrance at Money in the Bank

  • it's a shame really... superstars from the UK never really get the recognition they deserve. Even great talents like the bulldog, barrett and mcintyre, the best they've ever accomplished is the intercontinental title which is worth nothing nowadays...

  • thats an English crowd for ya!!

  • This has nothing on the rock returns to raw earlier this year.

  • I'm pretty sure CM Punk got a louder pop than this...

  • @HaloSwordKing I think you'll find he did.

  • @jaiipatterson No he didnt the crowd here is alot bigger than MITB and alot louder. Triple H's return was louder than MITB and Austin returns were alot louder than MITB.

You just think CM Punk was the loudest because it was the loudest in a long time. Like people thought CM Punk did the best promo ever but he didnt it was just the best in a long time.

  • How do they even get the IC or US title back to a good prestige again, i don't see how ,people will still see it as useless no matter what the do

  • anyone else noticed how much faster the winning count always is?

compared with the snail like 2 count.

  • @TheKBEES It's more exciting that way. Watch the Iron Man match when Shawn Michaels wins the title, the count is so slow it completely kills the heat he just got for hitting the superkick.

  • HAHA Bret got Teabagged!

  • the fink is the greatest announcer ever in wrestling...love it when he says A NEEEEW!!! lol

  • @fouadoualid no

  • @HaloSwordKing Didn't you hear it ? i was chating " CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK " too :p

  • @fouadoualid Yeah the CM Punk one was the biggest one in a long time but this one, Triple H return in 2002 and alot of the Austin returns were probably bigger

Its the fact that it was the loudest one is a very long time that makes it seem bigger than it actually was

  • @HaloSwordKing Yeah man and i remember The games return too its the best

  • @fouadoualid watch summerslam pop wasn't as great as chigago but still was a good pop

  • @fouadoualid nothing compared to austin's return and mankinds title win seconds apart.

  • CM PUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK

CM PUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNKCM PUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNKCM PUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CMPUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK

  • @VivaLaEric21 Yepp Cm Punk and Cena made history. The begining of a new era : )

  • @gstar235 so waddu we call it? The Punk Era?

  • The pop in ecw when taz and wavy were finally face to face after the lights went off and came back on...that one made you wanna cheer at your tv. You could feel the emotion.

  • Too bad fans aren't that way nowadays

  • @dminorbaby Too bad wrestling isnt like that nowadays.

  • @Detroitballa85 completely agree, it just isn't what it used to be. The internet is a big part of that, IMO. Too much gets leaked and it keeps it from seeming as real as it did back then

  • @dminorbaby Yeah but it also doesn't help the fact of the matter that the product itself has been stale over the past few years. Regardless of leaks because it happened quite a bit in the 90's (WCW did so to WWF), leaking can also work an opposing positive effect that will draw in more. (i.e. Mankind wins WWF title on Raw the same night of the finger poke of doom. People tuned in b/c Schiavone announced Mick was going to win, and Mick was quite over with the fans then.)

  • @pafootball075 true, on all of that. the product is pretty stale, hopefully this new Punk angle will help revive it some

  • @dminorbaby people are calling this new era the "reality Era" but yeah i agree with you.

  • I hate how back then it took YEARS or even decades for wrestlers to get multiple championshion reigns and now these weak ass wrestlers are getting a championship like its nothing , triple h started in 92 and is a 13 time champion. cena has been wrestling since 03 and is a 10 time champion. what the fuck!?

  • wrestlig fans of the 90s were so lame.

  • @calvingmail Wrestling fans today are lame.

  • those were the days that Intercontinental Championship has meaning and the crowd is better

  • Canada sucks =)

  • I still think the biggest pop was when Goldberg beat nWo Hogan..

  • XD sorry but the crowd whas fuckn big in this days thats why the crowd whas so fuckn loud XD

  • @the18blueprint well its not even that, i mean the venue for this event was Wembley Stadium. Wembley... Fucking.... Stadium. Having the British Bulldog win the IC Championship that night was bigger than the main event itself. Of course the crowd went nuts!

  • @AxeManWolf25 that right it whas the bigest win ever fore the bulldog :) and it whas awsome look how big whas wrestlemania 2 in 3 towns at the same time :D

  • Like if you think wretling back then was way better than WWE now. [John Cena]

  • I was there, great memories. The wall of noise at the three count, and again when fink said "and the NEW", shook my teeth! Bear in mind this was outdoors in a huge arena so most of the sound escaped, but it still was deafening. Indoors, the Walls would have collapsed!

  • What happend i dont understand, can someone tell me what happend.

  • The times when an Intercontinental championship match felt like a WWE championship match. Now its come to Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler in boring and stupid storyline matches. Poor IC title its worth shit now.

  • @Tony7z10 The WWF lightweight title carried more honor than today's World Heavyweight belt

  • back when wrestling wasn't a joke.

  • Why on earth did the WWE never take advantage of its obviously huge british fanbase?

  • This summerslam crowd is bigger than any Wrestlemania ever hosted

  • so... let me get this straight... the IC title was once relevant??

  • @eyepatchinc was held by legends and meant just as much as wwf title when was in hands of macho warrior etc now we have wade barrett

  • @SpreadingTheTruth88 i see... It's not that Wade Berret has no talent, or Kofi, or whoever else has held it recently. Maybe the diminishing prestige has more to do with the state of the industry and the way the title gets less exposure.. I dunno. I just don't remember the IC title ever meaning this much. That crowd is insane!

  • @eyepatchinc well before they bought wcw the ic title was second only to the world heavyweight title

  • @kdawg3485 that makes sense.. but I still think there's more to it. Because NO matches now, title match or otherwise, get this kind of reaction. I was a wcw guy and the last time I remember reactions similar to this were for the Sting/Hogan feud and for Goldberg in his prime... just saying it's been a really long time since I've seen crowds even close to this excited. (although Nash's and Booker's pops at the 2011 Rumble were also massive, but that was more for the men, not the match)

  • @eyepatchinc because in the early days wwf got 18.0 ratings and filled 70,000 stadiums also this match obviously got a hugh pop for bulldog being in home town but yes before there was only really intercontinental tag and world champions so meant u was at the top if held any now its just a toy to pass around to jobbers and btw it changed again its some black guy called ezekial jackson lol

  • back when the IC title meant something

  • back when the intercontinental championship really meant something!

  • @300MUSIC

back when the whole company meant something!

  • @MegaKrysth10 touche! 1 match from back then beats a whole wrestlemania show of today

  • RIP Bulldog

  • Whatever. The biggest pop in pro wrestling was the Ultimate Warrior getting the belt from the Honky Tonk Man. The Honky Tonk Man said "get someone out here, I don't care who it is." Then Warrior's music started playing, and everyone went insane.

The second biggest pop was when Miss Elizabeth went backstage to get Hulk Hogan to save the Macho Man from Honky Tonk and the Hart Foundation.

  • rvd royal rumble return 2009 or 2010 i forget which one. but it had an amazing pop lol

  • Just goes to show that you can stay up for days smoking crack with Jim Neidhart and still have one of the greatest matches of all time!

...as long as you're wrestling Bret Hart!

  • Best match in wrestling history IMO

  • @seanadam I had some friends over who weren't even wrestling fans and they were literally jumping off their chairs toward the end of the match and pumping their fist and screaming cheers at the end of it. If anything beats this, its Michaels/Taker I. I think this beats Michaels/Taker II.

  • Tatanka's return was epic, lawls!

  • hhh return 2002 is an epic pop

  • hahaha i love the brain's comments about telling her to go home and do the dishes and what not...hilarious!

  • I've seen bigger.....no homo

  • CM Punk wins WWE Championship at MITB fans going crazy.
