I lost a lot of respect for Tokido watching this. There's been instances where people continue to use there counter pick character for the next match in this same tournament. Tokido actually called the rule on Sako @ 7:10. Sako didn't want to use Rose his heart wasn't in it, he didn't even pick the right ultra. It should've been both players playing their best characters at the start of Grand Finales.

Sako es un cojudo, se confio en el antepenultimo round, x eso lo perdio y Tokido se recuperó, sabra hacer combos pero no tiene criterio. Lástima!

Certainly not the best. I found it disgusting(a feeling seemingly shared by european tourney organizers) when Marn beat Vangief at Evo whereas the later was obviously a superior player, to no avail. We, in France(Europe?) tend to believe it is better for the show if a player is associated with a character. That 'stupid rule' is a compromise between the 1player=1character from the japanese (too restrictive), and the free counterpicking in the US(too disgusting).

@jeanroberto54 I get where you're coming from but I wouldn't say that Vagief is superior to Ricky. I love Vangief, IMO, he's among USA's Top5, but Ricky is right up there with him. And secondly, if you feel the threaten by a counter-pick, you can call for a double blind pick. And yes, if you're known for playing only one character, you might end up getting counter-picked anyway. But learning another character is a skill too.

In that tournament your first character is locked, you can pick an other character only if you lose. In that case since Sako reset the count he had to pick his first character

To add more informations, since Sako won the previous set he add to take Rose again until he loose a match in the new for being authorized to counter pick again (that he did).
