@abennett96 Thanks so much for showing us just how easy it is to use "Dragon"! I have a question that I hope u know the answer to. My mom is 80 y/o and I told her about Dragon 11, and she wants to get it. If she decides she doesn't want it after she tries it, would I be able to take it to my house and use it on my computer?
@Racingirl911 I believe that if you install it on one computer and don't like it you can uninstall it and then use it on a different computer. I know I have done that with other types of software. Should be the same with Dragon software.
does dragon work with microsoft word or powerpoint? i would like to know because if dragon requires its own software to make documents then i wont get but please respawn fast i need to save my $ ASAP!!! thanks.
I would want to use mine for transcribing my interviews with others. (One interviewee at a time for each audio tape). I was hoping they were improved enough to do this with a reasonable accuracy.
does this program work pretty well out of the box? The reason I ask, is we have a bunch of already existing VOs and we need to modify them, however, we have no script and I reallllly don't want to listen and retype all this
Holy shit this program is terrible, I'm from Spain and it doesn't detect more than 25% of the things I say, and my accent isn't that bad at all. what the...?
like i say my name is aska and it writes a complete different sentences:( i was excitted about getting it im not anymore becuase it doesnt work for me:(
@2askaa You can train the software to recognize names and other things that are not already in the dictionary. It will take time to train this software in order for it to work for you.
Does this program add in punctuations like comma's and apostrophe's? That's the main factor for me. My grammer skills are terrible and I'd want this program so I wouldn't have so many punctuation errors. Does this program add automatically the correct punctuation to complex sentences? And does it type onto like microsoft works, open office, or any writing program? Or does it have a specifc dragon writing program? And can I download it onto say my laptop and work laptop or just one? Please reply!
@ProRanting the program does not automatically add punctuation, you have to do that and you have to say it as I did in the demo. The program working in any word processing program so you can use it with Word. I'm not sure about downloading onto multiple devices.
@coxixx I'm not sure what mic I was using thine, however now I have a logitech USB mic that was about $59. I use it to record podcasts too and it works great.
I have Dragon 11 home edition and it is the biggest waste of $100.00 I have spent in a long time ! The accuracy is a joke and the user interface is even worse! I feel like someone stuck a gun to my back and said give me your wallet, I swear to GOD it is a horrific software .....Unbelievable! My Recommendation: Save yourself a lot of frustration and continue to type the old fashion way.
@rck12369 - they should say on the box that people with heavy accents or dont all be usin proper english, will have a longer time training there software
whats the version of dragon u are using ??? is it 11 ?? im using the dragon 9 for the last 4 days and its not very accurate (only arnd 50%),, which is the ebst version ?
Look you looked pissed for some reason xD, you sure no one's pointing a gun at you behind the camera or something? xD pretty great application btw, thinking of getting it soon
We are supposed start using this program at work instead of calling in dictation. Seems pretty good, except for the time it takes to train your Dragon! Other than that, you hardly hav to touch your keyboard. Pretty cool.
This is a fantastic video dude. Perfect way to explain this thing! I speak my thoughts much better than I am capable of writing them down (no idea why) so maybe I will try this for those reasons!
I have dragon, you sold me on it. I have a problem. If I try to select a specific word, dragon will hilight all but the first two letters. It is in a wordperfect document. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and any fixes? Thanx.
I use a lot of dates, parenthesis, and medical terms. For example:
9/14/08 Patient experienced paresthesias. (9F, 2)
Would I have a problem with this? Can I jump in anytime I need to with my keyboard? Can I quickly save the material to a wordperfect document file? Thanks
A couple last questions, and thank you for lightning quick responses. I notice two versions, one for $99 and another for $200. Will the $99.00 do as well or will I be sorry I didn't purchase the $200 version?
Sorry to bother you again. Do you think I'll have any problem with numerous medical terms or is this something that the program simply can learn as you go?
The program can be trained to the sound of your voice as well as to specific words. I actually work with it in the medical field using pathology terms as well as commands to more throughout software.
Installed Dragon today. After doing so, noticed that Wordperfect no longer appeared on my desktop and couldn't find it in my program list. Had to find a document, open it, which caused wordperfect to open. Still couldn't perform any Dragon Voice writing while in wordperfect, however. Any suggestions? I have WP10.
Wow, thats actually a very useful tool. I am surprised more people don't use it. I can type about 70-80WPM which is decent. But that is nothing compared to this program. It is very good though I will not buy it right away. It is fairly expensive to buy I believe.

abennett96 1 year ago
can you have a tv or a radio in the backround without it interfering with the mic?
fishfan67 1 year ago
@fishfan67 I think you can but that more depends on the noise canceling properties of the mic than the software itself.
