  • @abennett96 Thanks so much for showing us just how easy it is to use "Dragon"! I have a question that I hope u know the answer to. My mom is 80 y/o and I told her about Dragon 11, and she wants to get it. If she decides she doesn't want it after she tries it, would I be able to take it to my house and use it on my computer?

  • @Racingirl911 I believe that if you install it on one computer and don't like it you can uninstall it and then use it on a different computer. I know I have done that with other types of software. Should be the same with Dragon software.

  • this man is having a lot of periods in the video

  • does dragon work with microsoft word or powerpoint? i would like to know because if dragon requires its own software to make documents then i wont get but please respawn fast i need to save my $ ASAP!!! thanks.

  • @WhyAMiStillAlive1234 Dragon works with any Word Processing program, it sits on top of those programs and are able to be used on any program.

  • @abennett96 o ok thank you so much!! this video was relly helpful and so was your response! Have nice day!!!

  • It's working for me just fine.

  • I would want to use mine for transcribing my interviews with others. (One interviewee at a time for each audio tape). I was hoping they were improved enough to do this with a reasonable accuracy.

  • Period means" Full stop" in proper original English.

  • does this program work pretty well out of the box? The reason I ask, is we have a bunch of already existing VOs and we need to modify them, however, we have no script and I reallllly don't want to listen and retype all this

  • I just ordered mine.. I hope it does well for me..

  • Holy shit this program is terrible, I'm from Spain and it doesn't detect more than 25% of the things I say, and my accent isn't that bad at all. what the...?

  • @abennett96

thank you for your quick respond : )

i have just downloaded dragon naturally speaking

it doesnt write what i sayand its annoying

like i say my name is aska and it writes a complete different sentences:( i was excitted about getting it im not anymore becuase it doesnt work for me:(

  • @2askaa You can train the software to recognize names and other things that are not already in the dictionary. It will take time to train this software in order for it to work for you.

  • what does period mean in here? thanks

  • @2askaa it means Period, as in end of sentence you have to speak the punctuation.

  • Does this program add in punctuations like comma's and apostrophe's? That's the main factor for me. My grammer skills are terrible and I'd want this program so I wouldn't have so many punctuation errors. Does this program add automatically the correct punctuation to complex sentences? And does it type onto like microsoft works, open office, or any writing program? Or does it have a specifc dragon writing program? And can I download it onto say my laptop and work laptop or just one? Please reply!

  • @ProRanting the program does not automatically add punctuation, you have to do that and you have to say it as I did in the demo. The program working in any word processing program so you can use it with Word. I'm not sure about downloading onto multiple devices.

  • to rck12369- I totally agree it is a big expensive piece of garbage

  • accuracy is terrible using it right now tried this.it's about 30% accurate. I have to correct overnighter is. Will forget

  • hands up all those people with dragon speaking and find it easier to post to this comment by typing, i certainly am

  • would you tell me what is your Mic?

  • @coxixx I'm not sure what mic I was using thine, however now I have a logitech USB mic that was about $59. I use it to record podcasts too and it works great.

  • I have Dragon 11 home edition and it is the biggest waste of $100.00 I have spent in a long time ! The accuracy is a joke and the user interface is even worse! I feel like someone stuck a gun to my back and said give me your wallet, I swear to GOD it is a horrific software .....Unbelievable! My Recommendation: Save yourself a lot of frustration and continue to type the old fashion way.

  • @rck12369 Sorry to hear that you are having trouble, did you train the program to recognize your voice. That takes a long time but it is worth it.

  • @rck12369 - they should say on the box that people with heavy accents or dont all be usin proper english, will have a longer time training there software

  • whats the version of dragon u are using ??? is it 11 ?? im using the dragon 9 for the last 4 days and its not very accurate (only arnd 50%),, which is the ebst version ?

  • @vanmaarwijk I'm using 9 I think. I haven't used it much since this video. I should use it more.

  • do you need a very good mike to use dragon program ??? i tried using it but it just never worked

  • @vanmaarwijk I don't think the mic I had there was that good but it worked fine.

  • Is this Dragon window 7 compatible?

  • @fishfan67 yes

  • can you have a tv or a radio in the backround without it interfering with the mic?

  • @fishfan67 I think you can but that more depends on the noise canceling properties of the mic than the software itself.

  • Look you looked pissed for some reason xD, you sure no one's pointing a gun at you behind the camera or something? xD pretty great application btw, thinking of getting it soon

  • @Jo3Kageri yes my exact thoughts

  • This is a totally new way of doing homework

  • Can you tell me if you used the standard or preferred version for this video?

  • We are supposed start using this program at work instead of calling in dictation. Seems pretty good, except for the time it takes to train your Dragon! Other than that, you hardly hav to touch your keyboard. Pretty cool.

  • Whats the difference between the Dragon Standard and the Preferred versions ?

  • imagine coding with this..

  • @xDelta6543x legit man, s dash. NO NOT UNDERSCORE

  • @xDelta6543x that would be a nightmare

  • Do we have to train the program?

  • @TheLoserKingdom

    Lol , Yes ...

  • This is a fantastic video dude. Perfect way to explain this thing! I speak my thoughts much better than I am capable of writing them down (no idea why) so maybe I will try this for those reasons!

  • wonder when it will be available for the swedish language or other languages

  • What would happen if you be thinking of what to say and then you said Uhh. Would the computer type it.

  • It might but likely you won't say um and ah when you are talking in front of yourself.

  • @abennett96 If you notice, he says "uhh" in the vid @ 0:57, but the program didn't type it.

  • @sean83716 because it didnt understand the word, uhh

  • What about quotation marks? And paragraphs?

  • You say Quotation and also New Paragraph. That is basically what you do.

  • @abennett96

can i change the word "Period" by "Stop" ?

    and

can the program understand french ?

  • I have dragon, you sold me on it. I have a problem. If I try to select a specific word, dragon will hilight all but the first two letters. It is in a wordperfect document. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and any fixes? Thanx.

  • I noticed you didn't use any commas, dates etc. Is it weak in these areas?

  • It is not week in those areas however you have to say comma and period.

  • I use a lot of dates, parenthesis, and medical terms. For example:

    9/14/08 Patient experienced paresthesias. (9F, 2)

Would I have a problem with this? Can I jump in anytime I need to with my keyboard? Can I quickly save the material to a wordperfect document file? Thanks

  • Yes, you can jump in anytime with the keyboard. Save anytime too.

  • A couple last questions, and thank you for lightning quick responses. I notice two versions, one for $99 and another for $200. Will the $99.00 do as well or will I be sorry I didn't purchase the $200 version?

  • That one I'm not sure I can answer. I have the $199 version and have not used the $99 version so I cannot accurately compare.

  • Sorry to bother you again. Do you think I'll have any problem with numerous medical terms or is this something that the program simply can learn as you go?

  • The program can be trained to the sound of your voice as well as to specific words. I actually work with it in the medical field using pathology terms as well as commands to more throughout software.

  • @bluesgolfer There is a medical version of Dragon. I'd suggest that instead.

  • Hi:

Installed Dragon today. After doing so, noticed that Wordperfect no longer appeared on my desktop and couldn't find it in my program list. Had to find a document, open it, which caused wordperfect to open. Still couldn't perform any Dragon Voice writing while in wordperfect, however. Any suggestions? I have WP10.

  • Sorry, wish I knew more about that program. I can't see why it could possibly have done that.

  • you can get auto perioud ;)

  • Can you record university lectures?

  • Well if ya wanna spend more time with family...just do it! Blogs are yer pastime right?

  • wow where do you get that??? check out my channel and tell me

  • thx for that, but i tried it before and did not recognize anything ebcause of my accent

  • Wow, thats actually a very useful tool. I am surprised more people don't use it. I can type about 70-80WPM which is decent. But that is nothing compared to this program. It is very good though I will not buy it right away. It is fairly expensive to buy I believe.

  • Nice demonstration! I ordered mine from amazon for just $55 last week, can't wait for it to come.

  • cool video.... Is this the $100 version you are using here?

  • This is the $200 version actually.

  • Comment removed

  • I heard dragon was terrible. Is there a warrenty on this

  • It basically has warranties like regular software, no open boxed returns. As far as a Guarantee, I don't know, why don't you look it up with Nuance.

  • Oh Cool I So Need To Get This =}

  • Cool, does it work in games? Its annoying to for example stop moving because you need to type a message.

  • I'm not sure how the software will interact with games, in theory it should work.

  • You'd be like "hit left mouse button hit left mouse button hit left mouse button" if u were playing an FPS game..

    BTW nice microphone

  • hahahahaha so true

  • @ustoube hahah imagine using this modern warfare 2....i'll be like "run run knife reload " that would be fun

  • Thanks Heather, I need to get a recumbent bike and a wireless headset and I will be off and blogging.

  • amazing!!!! does this software work for msn =)?

  • Yes this does work with MSN, it works with any program where you can type into text blocks and you can use voice commands to move.

  • Nicely done Drew. That's such a great idea to use DNS while on the recumbent bike. I love multi-tasking :)
