I don't get my views on Islam from constricted sources but from the very people who seem to represnt Islam. It's worth mentioning that the prophet himself was a model of virtue for the religion and he was hardly a delicate flower; to say the least.
I commend peaceful muslims who mind their business and don't impose their religion on wester societies. Sadly, those who are, are more hellbent on lashing against Bush than on terrorism.

I used to have an immense hatred for jews if you must know because of the propaganda of some of the extremists but i said to myself i need to get to the source, and visit a jewish synagouge and find out more about jewish people.

as a result today i have friends who are christian and reformist jews, and i get along with them but that does not mean that for a second i will be apolegetic.
I know it will be difficult for you living in palestine but whenever you go to a western country or anywhere else where is not in conflict, i urge you to get to know people who you have misconceptions about because it may change you for the good just as it did with me.

Amen to that. I am all for that as I have Muslim friends and others of varying traditions and religions. If it comes to being open minded, I'm all for it.
All I reject is hypocrisy and double standards. That's it. If I see a muslims who is just as adament about condemning terrorism as he is about the mistakes made by radical Zionists, then I keep my mouth shut. However, that is a rare phenomenon.

A few corrections: The 'fat' guy is not Buddha, he was a chinese monk named Pu tai and only important in the chinese tradition. Buddha was from India and he is not god, just a teacher. We don't worship statues they are just symbolic, just like how you face mecca to pray. If you want to criticize that's fine but get some facts first. Also, can you please refer me to the surahs that teach detachment from anger, I would love to read them... Peace.

A recent study (it's not so recent actually, 1 year ago or something) in the UK showed that 40% of british muslims want shariah law in britain. 20-30% (I can't remember the exact number) wanted to turn britain into an Islamic country first and foremost where non-muslims are subdued. And these numbers keep on rising.
40% doesn't look like a tiny minority to me. This is not only a war with weapons. It's something completely different and we have to start dealing it as such.

What it all boils down to is the fact of how Israel is dealing with the Palestinians. I would agree on Israel's stand on defending its citizens against attacks on its citizens as much as I would agree on the Palestinians defending themselves.
Both sides really need to get their issues resolved and lip service is not going to work from either sides.
