ouch bits- i did some veterinary medical studies on the effects of bits. people will still use them for a long time to come, unfortunately. change is slow.
Hey what did you do to get him to jump properly? Dane struggles to place himself and take off at the right time, and ends up going to long or short or ploughing through..
Wonderful job with him by the way.. I hope Dann and I become this great one day! It must have been so hard giving him up, but you get to make another TB's life beterr x
@fcthecool Thank you so much! He wasn't always good at placing himself, we did HEAPS of pole work and grids. I'm talking months of it! Even just simple stuff like a pole on the ground, land in canter for one stride and pop a jump. Size doesn't matter, as long as they're jumping nicely there's no problem with keeping them small. Gives them confidence. Oh and make a HUGE fuss over them when they get it right. Lots of encouragement is the key :) xx
He is more scared of poles than jumps.. its rather funny. He neds a l;ot more confidence thats for sure! But when it comes to cross country style juumms out in the bush he places himself perfectly and does the cutest collected canter out of them. He is a very strangeeee horse.
Amazing! What a lovely end to another great story! You did a fantastic job with him and gave him all the tools he needs to go out and be a great eventer! Congrats!!
OTTB’s have been given a bad name for too long!!! Roger is the perfect example of how great they can be…you did amazing work with him and all the best to Roger in his new home! :)
I LOVE THIS! he's a lucky boy:)
