There are only 48 catch-able pokemon as well as a couple here and there that join your party willingly on its own. The Orre region is barren enough that there is literally no wild pokemon to catch (but plenty to steal hint-hint) but once you get to a certain point in the game you can transfer pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, so if you wanted to put all of the work of catching all of the pokemon in between RSE and Fire Red/ Leaf Green then yes up to gen 3

@DumbDuo123 I can assure you it's not fake. I spent more time than I'd like to admit doing this. Make sure all 48 shadow pokemon are purified and you complete the Battle Mode, not Story Mode.

@link13r2 It is very similar to Pokemon Stadium, but Pokemon Colosseum is much more fleshed out. Most notably, it has an expansive RPG-style Story Mode. It's definitely worth getting if you can get your hands on it.

It had the potential of being the best Pokemon game ever, but I agree with below, It was too short, mainly because we started HALF WAY through the story rather than from start as it traditionally does, and an improper ending. An expansion of the world would have been nicer, some more towns, just for side-story and exploration sake, roaming around in the areas around towns rather than transport to them and seeing the same old boring cut would have added to it.

I never liked this game...

Twice I tried to get Ho-oh.

The first time I tried, I managed to beat trainer 100, and the cutscene of Ho-oh appeared. But then, the memory card had to be formatted. I wasn't quite sure what else to do, so I did that, and then I lost not only Ho-oh, but my entire Coliseum file. I was distraught, and vowed never to play that game ever again.

7 years later, I tried again. Only this time, I registered pokemon from my FireRed, and once again, I didn't get Ho-oh. It sucks.

No, you get the johto starters. They're not shadow, and they come know hydro cannon, frenzy plant, and blast burn respectively. You only get one each round, and it's random which one you get. But you can get as many as you want.

When I battle this fucker, it was the most epic battle in my carrer as a pokémon trainer.

I had a lvl 89 rayquaza that fucked the entire 99 trainers(all of their pkmn were lvl89 as well)and then I had a Groudon lvl 79, then a latios lvl 60 and the lvl 55 tyranitar. Of course, Kyogre raped the shit out of me, after using 10 continues he OHKO'd rayquaza, and two OHKO's groudon, and survived with a little bit of health, all i had left was TTar, but he summoned his sandstorm, and BAM!!!
