As for your miata comment, hang out at the track more often, you will see more miatas passing all sorts of cars. They are a great track car when properly fitted! Who cares if it's a "gay" car. Big accomplishment you passed a 300hp Cayman on the straight, even a stock Z06 could do that. Perhaps you could use 80% of the car and keep up or pass the 911 that started in front of you on the grid!

Flatbed came to track to haul it away. It was a 4wd Turbo Evo, totaled IMO. I don't know if he tried to salvage it, we were just glad the driver was OK at that point, the car looked like a total loss.
Is your car street legal? Test drove a Z06 this past weekend. Only problem with the car was with the poassenger seat. My wife was in it. Willow Springs is a fun track and local for me. I live in Leona Valley. Have fun and listen to these clowns. I've seen enough wrecks at Willow.

I've gone to Willow the past 2 weekends. Thought drifting was silly, but I enjoyed watching. They were doing 3 cars at a time on the small Willow drift course.
I have seen miatas out there, I thought they were traffic cones. On that day back in Jan of 06, my time was enough to be in front with no incident. Keep in mind my primary goal was (as always with an expensive car) no incident. I didn't really care what the time was, I was in front. So whatever.

We don't go out there to rub and crash, the object is not to. As for my experience, you certainly don't know my driving background so you just embarrassed yourself making such an erroneous comment anyway. 1.35 aint that good considering how many horse power u have on this car, i run in in 1.39 using a z4m with street tires and rag top down and a strong wind blowing against on the main rettifile.I recknow i can lower it to a good 1.38.5...lets see next time however

Any Z06 owners think of putting a wing/downforce on their cars for racing? I know they do it for GT but think of the laptime a Z06 could do with a wing here on this track.

I live so close to Willow Springs that I can almost tell what type of cars are running there.
I would race if I could afford to eat up the tires and brakes. I did take a course in Phoenix, but never followed up.

No offense bro... I do 1:38's in a Spec Miata with 109hp at the rear wheels.
My advice... Pull the turbo's, invest in suspension and practice the track.
I do 1:20's in a Formula Mazda with 180hp at the engine.
TOO MUCH POWER, not enough talent!

The 1:35 day was on factory rims, stock leaf springs, stock shocks, and factory/untouched suspension settings.
Only change I've made to the suspension so far is bigger sway bars.
