i dont really listen to heavy metal but i definetely respect sam for believing in this genre of music and learning and showing its true meaning to the world in this documentary. Good work man keep it up
@yerfdog1935 the flash back part the dude with the beard and black hair shirtless thats him because i saw a picture of him like that right before i saw this
they say music bonds us together, then they say heavy metal is fucking shit. I mean, if you say all music is good, then you're just being a jerk saying metal sucks. Metal is my life.
i never heard The Stooges but i listen to Hendrix, hes the best guitarist of all time and he wasnt metal at all, but his solos sound like something you would hear in a metal song too
i understand if ppl say fuck corridos ( mexica music) or anyhing thats isnt metal. but youre talkin smack about hair metal.? whats so wrong with hair metal?
Theres something which I dont like... and I dont tolerate... and it is this guy (the narrator) accepting nü "metal" as a subgenre and being a LOG fan... but well... hes from united states, what could I expect...
Avant-garde metal - Black metal - Death metal - Doom metal - Glam metal - Gothic metal - Groove metal - Power metal - Progressive metal - Speed metal - Stoner metal - Symphonic metal - Thrash metal - Viking metal
Alternative metal - Christian metal - Crust punk - Drone metal - Folk metal - Funk metal - Grindcore - Grunge - Industrial metal - Metalcore - Neo-classical metal - Nu metal - Post-metal - Rap metal - Sludge metal
could someone explain to me how he can say that in 1986 heavy metal became the most popular music in the world? '88 or '89 would come closer. but '86--prince, madonna, bruce springsteen, michael jackson, cyndi lauper, dire straits, billy idol, etc. pop rock has always been the highest selling music, with the most concert-goers. i love metal, but just because the black album and appetite for destruction are 2 of the higest selling albums of all time, they can't compare to the sales of pop.
Metal was never really popular but it was really reached its peak in 1986. I mean so many good things came out in 1985-1986. I mean Reign in Blood, Master of Puppets, Pleasure To Kill and the list goes on.
Guys, buy the documentary if you've got the cash, we need to support this kind of work.

But saying "Punk rock should be on Mars" is kind of foolish,
cause there wouldn't be Thrash without Punk.

'sick, repulsive, for unsophisticated people'
they should try listening to progressive, symphonic, christian, or power metal.
i think the critics were stereotyping it as black metal, where all the satanism was.
