It's a shame all the reviewers seems to have PhoneShop on the basis of this pilot. The series (maybe bar episode 1) is MUCH better than this pile of shit, one of my favourite comedies at the moment. It's a shame the pilot is simply far too blatant in trying to be funny that it chokes on its own decent ideas.

I can tell by comments that this show as attracted a lot of dumb fuckin idiots. Probably because of the langauge and venicular they use, which is to blatantly take the piss out of the people who really talk like that.

This show better go on for at least 3 series, but no more than 4/5, so it stays a classic.

And all the characters are funny, might just take a select few people to realise how funny they actually are, like the boringness of the manager, he is joke!

@Harvy355 yep underated, so many people judged the book by its cover sadly for this show. im mainly a fan of stuff like Curb your enthusiasm and the office etc and it seems the comedy genius in phone shop just went straight over most peoples heads.

@drunkensilvermonkey I think it's tough because Brent was such an amazing characterisation, he displayed lots of qualities that Gervais captured so well.

So when we see an aspect of Brent is another character we say it's a copy.

There are definitely bosses like that out there and it doesn't mean people should be restricted from ever trying to have a crack at it!
