  • love it!!!!!!!!!! good music

  • Classic!

  • david ruffin is the shit

  • I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)))))))

  • this song reminds me of my godmother who alwasys had a temptations record on hi-fi record player....She would play a Tempt song and begin to snap her fingers....She could make her fingers snap loud and I learned how to do mine like hers....R.I.P. Momma Dee-Dee!

  • i love the temptations.!!!!!!!!!!

  • so dotdayum true!! beauty is only skin deep, i appreciate character more than looks anyday. Character, self respect, honesty, dignity, love, kindness, and purity is far more important than looks, after all you gotta learn to live with the person, you cant live with their looks. but god blessed me with a woman that got both. (good looks and character) even if she was ugly i would love her unconditionally still because she have character. in time we all will see whats necessary and whats not

  • David Ruffin should have never been ousted from the temps. he was the voice. Sad how he was found slain on the streets of Detroit after going on a Cocaine binder. I don't think he knew he deserved better for himself but after the temps kicked him out of the group he spiraled rapidly into his addiction. I just love hearing his voice. It's really sad to think of what became of many of these great Motown artists. Thankfully many of them still grace us today with their talent.

  • He may say "A pretty face you may not possess"

But a girl would be HAPPY to know that she can look like complete crap and still get a member from the Temptations to date her.lol

  • Great group great song!

  • greatest legends of all time and if u dont like it u can lick it

  • The greatest soul sing group ever! Go Detroit!

  • Eddie Kendricks was a cutiepie...:)

  • if a man sings this nowadays he's too sensitive

  • @murfywash1994 LOL! Really? Have you heard, "Sometimes I Cry," by Eric Benet.

  • @murfywash1994 I beg to differ. If a man sings this then he's insensitive! "A pretty face you may not possess?" What woman would like hearing that? =DD

  • @FamilyRoyalty lmao really tho ,, i jus thot about that ..

  • these guys blazed the trail for everything that came after them. If they were poor money managers an succumbed to substances - it is because they were ripped off and often not prepared for the way sudden wealth changed their lives so drastically. That takes NOTHING away from the purity of their talent. They were innocent and guess what? So were WE! That's why we recall this era with such fondness - we had yet to be come the cynics we have all become today! Motor city!

  • This song is not underrated. It's a pretty famous Temptations song. At Least in this Universe.

  • I don't get the song.Is he hurt because the girl was pretty,or because she was a bad person? What if the ugly girl did the same thing, would he care? They seem to be more focused on the beauty part and less on the bad people are bad people minus facial appearance.Someone explain please.

  • @bandicoot2ps1 They sing that the girl who was pretty hurt him, but then another girl who wasn't outwardly attractive came into his life, and showed him that beauty is only skin deep. So basically, he has seen the light, that personality is better than just good looks

  • This was Music at its best...They reflected a time of great optimism...Its a pity we dont still have em around today..

  • damn.......

  • i love this song

  • despite this being a beautiful love song, i don't think it should ever be sung to a girl, because no matter how humble she is, i reckon she'll be none too pleased when she hears "a pretty face you may not possess" sung unto her

  • @jdmitch1413 LOL! True. She'll be pissed no matter how sweet the song is.

  • @jdmitch1413 LMAO!!!!

  • Amazinnnnnn time's,those were the day's,There all cute an slick 2 love-in there style le le.A suit is a different dimeson well groomed legends,Hell YEH....................

you cant say a rapper isnt one of the smartest people in the way hes able to use his wordplay and lyricism to tell a story open your mind

  • This reminds me of my old man. Pageland SC standup!

  • I love this song to death

  • Powerful, Joyous, Sensational, Amazing, Awesome, beautiful=CLASSIC!!! I blessed to have enjoyed this music first hand. Although I was young, it was a delight to hear & sometimes see these groups perform. It was on tv but, the feeling that you got when you see such a performance stayed in your memories forever. These videos brings all the sensation back.

  • CHECK OUT THE TEMPTATIONS SING SMOKEY GLAD I AM LIVING IN THIS ERA SING DAVID SING EDDIE SING PAUL SING OTIS SING MELVIN

  • Timeless! ... however, it's a cold thing to say to any woman, "A pretty face you may not possess."

  • It doesn't matter what your age is because I like some of the newer music too. Good music is good music.

  • I am sure but I look at the face, too LOL

  • Still sounds good now and always. you're the best.

  • I love this song a lot

  • The original Temptations...WHAT! No other group can touch 'em!!!!!

  • Another #1 song for The Temptations on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 148th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #3 on the Top 40 charts.

  • Most insulting love song of all time? I defy any guy to utter a line like 'A pretty face you may not possess but I love your tenderness' or 'Now good looks I've learned to do without' and get a good reaction. The likeliest response is a slap in the face! It is a great track though....

  • My favorite temptation pic at :28. They just look so young, handsome and ready to conquer the world.

  • Only If Guys NowADays Would Understand This Kind Of Music =]

  • sometimes it be cool to be born in a different era but i think were in a good era to live in, even tho we have a bunch of crappy music we also have the internet and the power of youtube to find many different music that we could have never found back in the day

  • i love this song thanks for post

  • great tune....and very true :)

  • "a pretty face may be some guys taste, but i'll take loving in its place---beauty's only skin deep, yea, yea, yea...."

  • What can I say? I'm speechless about the legendary Temptations. Their music touched the soul and they sang straight from the heart. Their music makes you want to hit the dance floor and just dance dance dance!!!! Especially when I hear the amazing David Ruffin. I mean what a voice this man had! These men defined the word TALENT and their music is classic and will live on forever.

  • @tomboygirl3444 you are old enough, think about the many people who will never have the chance thst you do now, cherish it, cause it's yours

  • Music is not what it used to be. Listen to these five men and their harmony. They are singing about the love of a beautiful woman not her outer beauty but beauty inside. This is how I feel try to see that person inside out to see the beauty! Great song. My speech of the day! :->

  • I watched the Temptations movie on VH1 this past weekend and I was cracking up. That David Ruffin was a mess. He was funny. It's a movie I have to watch on tv, no matter what. Great music!!

The Temptations were amazing, especially David Ruffin. His voice just melts your heart away. The Temptations are timeless, not like the music we have now. This is the music that touched your soul and it will live on forever.

  • i know that beauty is only skin deep, but my love is more then dat...

  • Thanks so much for the video: I loved listening the Temps 45 years ago, I still love listening to them at age 66: this was one of my favorites by them (along with Let It Rain and Just My Imagination. I won't knock today's music or the rap music of the past 10-15 years, but I don't think many people will listen to it 30 years from today; whereas people will enjoy dancing to and listening to the Temps forever and ever. Best to all, especially Topnotchgurl101, who's got game and good taste.

  • David Ruffin> than Trey Songz enough said! I love this song!

  • @TOPNOTCHGURL101

You're right and they're wrong; you have taste and a good ear. I saw the Temptations in person a number of times, beginning in the 1960s--lucky me to have grown up in Philly, where we white boys and girls were exposed to the great black music in high school. I loved the Temptations 45 years ago, I love them still. Welcome to the club: you got game, girl.
