I'm a Hardstyle and Hardcore DJ, and i agree, Hardcore is pussy, but i make Hardcore so i can try and combine them together (Hardstyle and Hardcore) i know it ain't possible, but i'm willing to try.

Hardstyle has much more bass, repeated bass.

Hardcore has faster bpm.

The difference between hardcore and hardstyle bass is that a hardcore bass has so much distortion so that the waves are going square, and hardstyle bass has a "cleaner" sound because it doesnt have so much dist.

And that's why hardcore bass is like more aggressive and sounds more like a mean killer machine or whatever, but hardstyle bass is deeper and clearer, and thats why subwoofers react more to hardstyle bass. They're both very hard, just in different ways.

Dutch and Italian hardcore is harder than hardstyle always has been, always will be. Hardstyle is more focused on sweeping melodies and complex breakdowns wheras hardcore is more about aggressive bass and simplified melodies with stong fx.

@HarryPottard Scrap attack was horrible in comparison to other events and their anthems. Take 2008 Qlimax -Next Dimensional World, produced by Technoboy. This is a HUGE hardstyle track and has both amazing melody and hard hitting bass.

Thats a real anthem that no one can say anything bad about. Unlike hardcore (eg Anger Fist) thats just a loud bass line with low melody, its not nearly as moving as the hardstyle.

In general Hardstyle = FTW, hardcore = meh.

There's as much bass as the producers want there to be in their songs, or as much as the audio-engineers at festivals allow to flow trough the speakers. So there's not really a rule for how much bass a genre has.

Of course, we can dig deeper and compare HS, HC and NS. But YT's 500-char limit won't allow us to do that here.

Anyways, it'll come down to hardcore having a way more aggressive kick/bass, but only if played trough a huge sound system
