@onlinelondon Sung with Irish lilting tones is just exquisite. Frances Black is masterful as well. Ofra would have been great as will, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Chava would be nice to hear singing this as well.
I usually love Mary Black. She has a wonderful voice but I think that she forces her voice a little bit in this particular version of 'Fields of Gold'.There's just something forced about it and a little bit too much ornamention in the voice.
that woman i heard twenty or so years ago plus in the falconry in clonmel as beautiful today as then an angel voice to match, still get my goose pimps up, girl friends i left for her
Ah, The believe in Love. The VDO couldn't be Any Better. Only one thing, although it relates with the story, i didnt like - that was the end scene when they grew old. That was, just from my personal preferences - unnecessary, after all those sweet VDO moments of the VDO.
Check out 'Fields of Gold' sung by Ireland's greatest upcoming talent Catherine Grimley on my page!

This song is so beautiful and should be sung by a master voice, Barbra Streisand or Ofra Haza...

Sorry, but no one can sing this song so
soulful and beautiful, like Eva Cassidy!

This is beautiful, but my all-time favourite version would be that of Eva Cassidy

I appriciate the versions of Sting and Eva Cassidy, but I think Mary Black's performance is touching one's soul.

Eva Cassidy's version is beautiful alright but I prefer this Mary Black version. Her voice is just superb.
