  • You know this is an old video because I actually know who some of the guys are. Today the only Oiler I can name you is Joey Moss.

  • I have to add though, you cut it off early. =( Messier: 'This is what it takes to win the Stanley Cup right here.' Mactavish: '22 stitches in the head.' XD

  • 1:25 is awesome. I wasn't born until 1989 but I got this video as a gift from my aunt when I was 7 or 8 and it instantly turned me into an Oilers fan. The last true NHL dynasty, the Red Wings have been a fantastic team for two decades, but they haven't been anywhere near as dominant as the Oilers.

  • Another video that captures the Oiler dynasty is called "A Time to Remember". The last cup of Gretzky's hockey career!

  • PROUD TO LIVE IN EDMONTON!!! :D GO OILERS.. U CAN BE HAPPY KNOWING U DIDT Always fail. ;D jk

ur still pretty awesome.. no matter what any one says. :)

  • 23 years later you look back and see how special this Oiler team really was. The talent on one team and their ability to work together. One of a kind in the NHL. In professional sports there are maybe 3-4 teams of all time that can rival this Oiler team for greatness.

  • I have that on dvd (:

  • Music sucks!

  • @wingnutt41 Fuck you, this is from 80's what do you expect, rap?

  • i love Wayne and Mark they are two of my favorite players.

  • The best team to ever lace them up.

  • "This is what it takes to-"

  • @caives There is more to video....Messier says" This is what it takes to win the Stanley Cup"...MacTavish says" Yeah...12 stitches to the head!"

  • The Oilers music video is sung by David Roberts--The Moment In Time"!!

  • @oilerfanatic1 Do you have a link, because I can't find it anywhere?

    Thanks.

  • @caives I can't find the song anywhere...but, the Boys On The Bus DVD is available on Amazon.com!

  • I love Messier pounding Peplinski...classic Mess!!

  • Sad to see what the league and Pocklington did to this team. They could have won at least 3 more Cups without all the BS.

  • CHELIOS IS IN THIS FUCKIN THING!!!!

  • absolutly the best team of all time in any generation.

they were like an all star team!

whenever you get 30 guys who refuses to lose on one team,

    then winning becomes a habit;

  • Oilers will be Champs once again and then people will see, we are the best and better than the rest. Oilers all the way.

  • That would be awesome if the oilers were like that today!

  • ahh the good ol days!

  • i don't thinkflames fans should watch this cuz one they don't know hockey never will they are mad that there team can't match up to the oilers never have never will so they have to say gay things to help make them self's feel better its pretty sad when u think about it

  • I think The Moose would rip off your dick for a comment like that.

  • Being funny takes time, keep trying, you may get it some day

  • Those old Calgary vs Edmonton games were rough and tough, some of the best hockey ever.

  • These were some of the best years of my life! My High School Grad fell on the same day that they won their first Cup.

My Dad had Oilers seasons tickets throughout the 80's. So I was able to go to many of the games. But I think like most Edmontonians, we didn't realize what we were actually witnessing. Arguably the most talented team in NHL history.

If the core players (Coffey, Lowe, Gretz, Kurri, Mess, Anderson) had stayed together, I think it's safe to say that we would've won a few more.

  • Your jealous of our glory.

  • wow...

    you sir. are a faggot.

go play some more dungeons and dragons.

  • You're a flamer. Win some cups and then talk shit.

  • Seems to be a lot of people here that are insecure on their sexuality.

This is pure hardcore 80s, a brilliant spiritual chronicle of the best IceHockey team ever. had it on VHS when was a kid. Fuckin gayisch maybe. gayisch and raw pure nostalgy and classic. LOVE IT!

just wanna bash...when hearing this song. What is it called by the way? Anyone? gay or not...

  • yeah i wish i was older too, i was born in 84' like 4 months before they won the cup the first time. I have this entire movie at home on VHS... its seriously awesome, brutal 80's music hahah but whatever, it was the 80's. Greatest team ever, no question. i love them, allways have allways will. its actually sad watching the movie when i do. i'm a diehard Messier fan & old oiler fan. so.... fuck the Flames and fuck New Jersey! bunch of fuckin fucks!

  • wish I was just 5 years older....would have been old enough to remember the dynasty. I missed out.

  • Best team I have ever seen...

  • I WANT FULL VIDEO

  • these guys were so good that when they were short handed on a penalty they were even better because it gave them more room to skate

  • Oilers were the greatest offensive machine in NHL history. Only Pocklington broke them up in 1988 prevented them from winning more.

  • Come on! doesn´t no one know who is singing the song in the video??!

  • the gay music reminds me of something you would hear in a Rocky movie.

  • so what do do call roy orbison?

  • Long live Grant Fuhr's acrobatics, Mark Messier's grit, Jari Kurri's speed, Paul Coffey's power and Wayne Gretzky's finesse and skill, but most of all, FUCK THE FLAMES!!! Go Oilers! Forever!

  • We own the VHS for The Boys on the Bus. My mom bought the VHS for my father when it first came out in the eighties, because she knew he liked the Edmonton Oilers. This was the first VHS she had ever bought however, and so she had no clue that you were supposed to keep the case; so naturally she threw it out -_- Which sucks, because I think if it had the case still it would have been worth something someday.

  • Hey Mittsie, love the footage, i just had a question for ya..Tom McMurchy is a good friend of mine and he was trying to find game footage from SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH 1987, the oilers were @MSG where tom was awarded first star. Hockey Night in Canada wanted OR it could of been some MSG broadcasters, not to sure but, Sather denied the interview live on T.V...Anyways, would you know where i could get that vintage game ?

  • I have no idea. This video is the bonus content on the DVD for "Boys On The Bus". I bought it at the Hockey Hall Of Fame gift shop in Toronto.

  • @eggy65 I got the DVD off ebay

  • vancan19 is a homo

  • Who is singin the song in the video, what's the name of the song? Got to have it...!

  • Where is the rest of the video. Where can I buy it?

  • Both Amazon and eBay have The Boys On The Bus, and it's sequel The Boys Are Back.

  • this is an wonderful, uplifting video to get ass-entered to

  • Messier with hair!

  • that moment in time...can't be taken awayyyyyyy

  • how is that video gay?? go and watch rap videos you homo

  • This video is a classic and is awsum.. any sports fan would love to have a video like this about their tea

  • The part i will always love in this video is messier kicking ass at 1:57....I just bought this video...luv the boys!!!

  • your a fucking dick lick

  • I'm a huge Oiler fan, but I have to agree... Ultra gay.

  • Get to know your history "Oiler fan". That's just typical music for late 80's and early 90's, might seem gay today but really wasn't back in the day. I guess you still have some growing up to do...

  • The fact that you would say what you just did, obviously shows that you have some growing up to do yourself. Of course it wasn't gay back in the day... Did I say it was? Huh huh huh?

  • Well did I say that I don't have growing up to do? I can honestly say that I got a lot of growing up to do, I think we all do. Except you of course..?

  • Of course :)

  • Arguably the best time in NHL history. An inspiring movie to watch in its entirety.

  • Could that be because they all retired?

Like it or not, that Oilers' club was one of the 3 best ever. 6 Hall of Famers on one roster may not be unprecedented, but it is jaw-dropping.

  • My absolutely favourite Hockey video -

    Oilers rules!

  • cool video, although I can't stand 1980's-soundtracks. The only decent soundtrack was anything Kenny Logins music..lol. Jari Kurri was my favorite Edmonton Oiler! Number 17!

  • I remember when i lived in edmonton.. and goin to a game with the oilers and the devils.. watching this exact line-up playing. Pure magic. There will never be a team like this again

  • the Oilers are the best damn hockey team ever. anybody who disagrees is a fucking moron. fuck you philly, boston and long island, we killed you what? 1000 times? LOL. Piss off!

  • this is when edmonton ruled the sports scene and calgary, well, ALLWAYS SUCKED!! somethings never change

  • If you had actually watched the documentary you'd know that the first part showed when Calgary knocked the Oilers out of the playoffs.

  • and that is your ONLY claim to fame, pretty sad! the cup-count speaks for itself, wanna talk football now? BAAHHAAHH!!!!

  • WTH are you talking about? Did I imply I was either an Edmonton or Calgary fan? And what makes you think I'd care about a second rate football league? Geez, quit assuming things.

  • What makes the CFL second rate? That its a harder game to play than the one they play down south?

  • Because the CFL is comprised of people not good enough to play in the NFL. Average CFL salary is $55k. Average rookie NFL salary is $325k. The players are better, and the quality of the game is higher in the NFL. The CFL all star team would get crushed by the worst NFL team, regardless of what set of rules used. People who think the CFL is anywhere close to the NFL are living in a dreamworld.

  • if you want to see a real hockey team, look at any team but the st.louis blues.OILERS!

  • this was and is the best team ever!!! i hope the new oilers (hemsky, gagner, cogliano, garon) step in these foots!

  • that team was stacked, now with the new salary cap rules a team like this will never be put together with such good players as the 80's oilers

  • @AudioslaveGuitar Or if a team is put together, they don't stay together more than 2 years.

  • best team EVER,how cool would it be to be suiting up with them!

  • The Oilers were the best team in the 80's

  • wow their so young herre , great video

  • haha

at least the oil are not mouthing the lyrics like the flames red hot video

  • Haha I'd love to be in the room when 80's bands wrote the lyrics for songs like this. I bet there was alot of mullets, beer coozies and high fivin goin around

  • Have it on DVD

  • Do you mind telling me where you got it?????? I've looked everywhere! Would love a copy

  • where did you buy the DVD at?

  • I bought it at the Oilers store at Rexall Place

  • Do they still sell copies?

  • think so

  • on DVD?

  • yep, they sell them at the counter at Rexall Place, or at the other Oilers Store Location, not sure if its online though...

  • I actually own this VHS video...it is in a box somewhere in Edmonton. I should dig it up and transfer to DVD...Hard to find.

  • This is so 80's. This is GREAT!!!

  • The greatest hockey dynasty of all-time (the 80s Oilers), this video proves it, and almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • The Oilers hold virtually all the team and individual NHL scoring records. Most impressive victory was the 13-0 destruction of the Canucks on November 8, 1985. Now thats some victory. And if the object of the game of hockey is to put the puck in the net, the Oilers and their players are simply the best ever.

  • Nice video. Please look at my Paul Coffey video, not as good as yours but still worth a look.
