@94frm Quantitative is act utilitarianism its all about the quantity of pleasure. Qualitative is rule utilitarianism and its all about the quality of pleasure e.g. high pleasure such as reading or low pleasure such as eating! :)

@94frm Act utilitarianism is all about Benthams version of utilitarianism - whatever results in the largest production of pleasure should be conducted

Rule utilitarianism is Mill's version and suggests that there is two types of pleasure higher and lower

high - pleasures of the mind e.g. reading

low - pleasures of the body e.g eating

and we should strive to create high pleasures

he also says we can formulate some general rules on this basis
