You've got to be one sick puppy not to love this music...Ray Price is truly the dean of the shuffle...and at 83 he still sings better than any of the new country male artists...no pitch correction needed here...
You Cant beat Ray Price adalong with Buddy Emmons ~One of the Greatest ever for sure ~had the Pleasure of Meeting them both back when i was 19 ~Great Guys and awesoem entertainers~Ty Steve-:)
You just Gotta love Ray Price and his awesoem Band ~What a voice and the Band is ALWAYS awesoeme ~I recall when he satrted out with Jimmy Day On Steel Guitar ~Then Buddy Emmons ~Had the Pleasure to See him after Id Played at the Coaast in oregon Stayed up all nite drove home got about 2 hrs sleep ~Got ~ Such a Great Guy and buddy was just Awesome ~ TY Steve
The people in "new country music" are not fit to be as much as roadies for Ray Price. Simply put, "new country" ISN'T. It is a new genre of music that has bastardized that of country music.
Ray Price is the real thing, and has been since the 50's. Having Buddy Emmons in the mix is a HUGE plus too.
Buddy has set the pedal steel guitar benchmark high for almost 60 years and I cant see anyone ever taking it from him.
He is not only technically the best but his musical "taste" is unsurpassed ...tasteful playing takes a lot of self control , never overplaying but playing just what, how and where its right , thats where his genius lies .....there are other superbly skillful steel players but they dont have his exquisite taste .
I can listen to Ray all day and night. up tempo, country swing from the southwest. I remember seeing adults dancing to this music in the early 60's when I was a little boy. My mom and dad would laugh when i tried to follow the music. But i was told I didn't do so bad either. Thanks ray for the music!
A great song by a SuperStar in the business..the newcomers can only play loud and scream basically---and their songs are styled way to fast for good slow dancing...we need to get back to the basics for awhile......there truly was 'murder on Music Row' !
I agree, the "new country" is mostly just "kiddie country" sung by pretty young thangs. In most cases it's barely concealed "pop hop". Check out George Jones's "Billy B. Bad" if you get a chance. George is one of the originals who still has the balls to call the new music fake, and untrue to its roots. Yes Ray Price is definitive classic country! Saw the man at the New Mexico State Fair. Total class all the way with unforgettable songs!
a voice like no other

Now that's country. It's a shame that new country has lost this sound. This is the first time I've heard this song. Favorite, and mega stars.
