Needs a view model of a weapon. Like in other first person shooters. I'm sure an experienced enough modder for the engine might be able to pull that off somehow.
@NICKREAPER316 Putting a 2d texture over a 3d model is pretty simple, putting a 3d model where there was nothing, and positioning it so that it doesn't keep wavering off your screen, is no easy task.

no they had the choice, i mean, they wouldent make a hammer in third person if they were going to make it in first person, if it was supposed to be in 1 person it would show the hud weapons but it might have, slightly glitchier gameplay...

that way the camera will be on the right place, nobody will notice because as it is configured in your mod the player model is not visible anyway, so no one will see that it's not actually mason
no, it's a rig file that attaches the bones and camera to the playermodel, but it's not lightwave, i checked; it's not a .3ds file either; i think they encrypted the rig file into a format of their own, sadly the only way to change the camera would be to modify the rig file for mason; until the proper tools come out i think we're stuck

if i'm correct, the scoped weapons don't have an offset; maybe if you take the contents from under "scope" and switch some around for the ones in "normal" you would get something more in FPS style and not OTS
ok goober i think i have an idea, if you look at the file under MISC called mason.rig_pc; and open it with word pad; it seems that it is a file that attaches the bones to a LWO lightwave model of mason's body; including THE CAMERA! AHA! so what we need to do is locate the model of mason's body for single player, load it into lightwave and load the .RIG file for it; then all we have to do is move the camera with a click and drag; it seems it's bound to the player model.
Just make the head invisible... and make the camera stick where the head should be, so if you crouch or get knocked over, it looks ... best as possible anyways... lol... anyways, Im no modder... but Second Life lets you see your avatar, and just makes the head invisible when in mouse look... that works good enough. No game will ever be perfect, I just hope youre smart enough to LEAVE it in 1st person when in vehicles? please? lol .... FPS driving FTW

Rather invisible character mode mixed with huge character mod and camera locked in a certain way. Hammers would look strange though.
