"The long-lived, healthy people of Okinawa eat a diet that is heavily based on meat. Mostly pork. Mostly fat pork. The main cooking fat is pork lard. Many foods are fried in pork lard."
"Okinawan elders had little of pork over the course of their lives, and pork can not be considered a staple of the diet in Okinawa." - Healthy Agriculture, Healthy Nutrition, Healthy People By World Council on Genetics, Nutrition, and Fitness for Health.
FACT vegans and gays alike, you are still causing death to furry animals, you are still causing pollution, (in fact accellerating the amount of pollution there is) You are stupid and your logic makes no sense, get real eat some meat, wear a dead sheep, quit whining your causing the same indirect death that we all contribute to, what is the point of being at the top of the food chain if you arent going to practise the right?
@FriendlyWalrus How exactly are vegans accelerating pollution? Especially since factory farming is the leading cause of global warming. Vegans don't support factory farming. That's kinda sorta the whole fucking point. And exactly how does choosing to not eat meat make me a pussy? I hear this all the time but I have never hear an intelligent retort as to why.
And I said that I am healthier than ever before. Meaning I used to be a meat eater and as a vegan I am healthier. You = stupid/ignorant.
I didn't say they are exclusively. The problem with you guys are you think you are making a huge difference deciding not to eat animals. You're not even making the slightest difference. Also, folic acid.
@FriendlyWalrus I know that I, alone, am not making a huge difference. Obviously. But the more of us there are, the lesser demand for animal products. I could be passive and ignore the fact that there is this huge problem in the world, but I can't do that. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world".
@FriendlyWalrusFactory farming is a serious problem. Not even necessarily the consumption of meat, but the way it is produced and industrialized. I refuse to support that industry. The way we spend our money is our greatest power. Even more than the actual voting system. And meat consumption has actually gone down over the past 5 years, after increasing over the last 50.
which means that if it werent for supplements it would be all but impossible to be a successful vegan. This in turn proves that a diet that includes meat is inherently better.
@FriendlyWalrus Who said I take pills? I don't take any pills. Zero supplements. I get everything I need naturally from my food, and my doctor even approves that I am not deficient in any vitamins or minerals. Far from it in fact. You gotta be smart about it, that's all.
It's impossible to get every single nutrient you need as a vegan without supplements. Even if you are relatively healthy, the fact remains you would be even healthier if you ate a little steak and chicken.
@FriendlyWalrus Okay but I am telling you that I don't take any. I am not vitamin deficient in any way. So it is possible. I realize that eating a little meat here and there would be fine, but I already stated that I am doing this because I am strongly against factory farming. And also, I know plenty of meat eaters who take vitamins and supplements. I really don't care to argue too much more about this. I'm at the greatest health of my life, and I'm simply stating that it is possible w/o meat.
I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!! THINK about what you are eating when you eat a pig,cow, or any other animal. Arent humans technically animals too? doesnt that make people CANNIBALS?!?!
“You love Dogs but eat Pigs, you love Cats but eat Cows, you love Horses but eat Chickens. However, you're disgusted by the people who eat the animals you love but call those crazy or overly emotional who eat none. Where is the logic in that?” (Steven James Felix)
because humans are intended to eat meat. Its programmed into our DNA and many nutrients key to leading a healthy life can only be obtained by carnivorous habits. For gods sake they call it the "domestic pig" because its a subspecies of pig bred and created for one purpose: being consumed by us. Enjoy your tofu.
@FriendlyWalrus Do you have anything carnivores have? Or even true omnivores?
Claws? NO. Short Intestinal tract? NO. Ability to digest RAW meat without getting sick? NO.
Does eating meat double your risk of cancer? YES! Are you 30% more likely to get heart disease from eating meat? YES!
Where did the animal get the nutrients from? Oh yeah, plants. Hmm, yes my DNA makes it difficult for me to kill and eat animals and then sends me some cancer and a heart attack when I succeed.
2. Eating tons and tons of RED meat and RED meat alone may give you some health problems, but pork aka "the other white meat" is very good for you...much more sustainence than something like soy
3. It is a proven fact (i encourage all to look this up) that vegetarians are weaker and have less muscle mas than those who eat meat on a regular basis
@FriendlyWalrus 1. While sashimi isn't cooked, it doesn't come to your plate raw. They freeze it to kill the bacteria and parasites that would make you sick.
2. The science is pretty clear, the more meat you eat, the more you put yourself at risk. As to nutrients pork vs soy, well soy is the clear winner; more iron, less fat and more protein per calorie, plus a better nutrient balance.
Protein from animal sources (meat, fish, dairy products, egg white) is considered high biological value protein or a "complete" protein because all nine essential amino acids are present in these proteins.
Plant sources of protein (grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds) generally do not contain sufficient amounts of one or more of the essential amino acids. Thus protein synthesis can occur only to the extent that the limiting amino acids are available ..thats why im stronger than you
And for the record continuous consumption of soy can lead to thyroid inhibition, and has several powerful enzyme inhibitors that prevent the uptake of several key nutrients, such as trypsin...but im sure you knew that already
While as Super Dionne states it is completely possible to have a high protein balanced Vegan diet without Soy it has also been consumed in China and Japan for thousands of years and it's highest consumption is in Okinawa which coincidentally also has the longest lived people in the world. Use your own judgement and stick to fermented, non GM and Organic sources(fermentation reduces the enzyme) and stay away from the crappy processed sources junk food companies use as filler.
Although the act of fermenting soybeans does de-activate both hemagglutinin and trypsin inhibitors, cooking and precipitation do not. Although these enzyme inhibitors are found in reduced levels within precipitated soy products like tofu, they are not completely eliminated.
And you're forgetting something...those Okinawa residents are not body starving vegans. They incorporate a little soy into their diet to reap from some of its positive properties, sure, but are intelligent enough to realize that one cannot effectively (or safely) be used as one's sole source of nutrition.
WRONG. The majority of the Okinawan's diet is plant based. They very occasionally have fish or pork on holidays but the amount of flesh eaten is like 3% of what we consume. They eat almost no eggs or milk. Again look it up.
how about you look up pictures of okinawans. Bunch of fucking bean poles. I could break most of them in half with a single hand.... length of life and quality of life are two completely different things, and it's really hard to get the latter on a vegan diet.
How do you know about quality of life if you've never fucking tried it? Are you afraid to not eat meat because you think your masculinity will suffer? Is that why you're so hyper aggressive and obsessed with breaking people in half? Must be a dumb American red neck thing.
Straight from a website for a book on the Okinawa diet:
Okinawan cuisine is centered around MEAT. The most important meat is PORK. The Okinawans have a saying, that they use every part of the PIG except for the toenails and the squeal. Many of the pork parts eaten are composed almost entirely of FAT, such as pork skin, pig ears, and pork belly. All the internal organs of the pig are regularly eaten, such as the liver, kidneys, stomach, and intestines, which are also full of fat.
@FriendlyWalrus Yes, they like pork when they have it which is rarely and they don't waste it. I didn't tell you to look up the western "Okinawa diet" I told you to look up what the elders eat:
A little fish, very little pig and the rest all plants.
nigga please. now you're just getting desperate. i'm not even talking about a "western" okinawa diet. That's really the secret of their longevity: a LOT of meat with Hdl, and very little LdL. Don't give me that elders bullshit which you didn't even mention in the first place. You're wrong and you know it.
Why would I be talking about anybody apart from the people who are 110? I would think it would be obvious I'm not talking about the young people who eat whatever crap they like. Every book I have read about the elders states that they didn't eat very much meat at all.
Don't tell me I'm wrong because you didn't do your research right. That makes you look desperate.
oh but i did. every source online says they eat a LOT or meat, especially pork. that means it is you who didn't to their research right. But again, the fact they eat any meat at all proves veganism is inferior. The fact that they actually eat quite alot means you simply don't take the time to read things properly
The body uses protein by breaking it down into its composite amino acids and then reassembling them into new protein strands to form muscle etc. Your body doesn't care if it gets all of those amino acids from the same source, in fact it doesn't even care if it gets them all at the same meal.
By combining plant sources of protein with each other they make a "complete" protein and make up for any amino acids that might be lacking: Nuts with Grain, grain with Legumes etc.
I'm not saying that vegans can't have crappy diets and low muscle mass - taking something out of your diet doesn't mean you put the right things in - but before you go condemning us all you should seriously take a look at some Vegan athletes like Carl Lewis, Stan Price and dozens more that have broke records and won Olympic gold, all on vegan diets.
You should also ask yourself who is telling you we need meat, eggs & milk to be healthy? The meat and dairy industry, that's who.
Imcorrect again, my misguided hippie friend. hundreds of thousands of years of evolution are what is responsible for sending these signals. If there was a better, more effecient medium of sustanence, our natural instincs/tendencies would drive us towards that instead. However, this is not the case.
..there there may be a one or two "athletes" who swear by these emaciating eating habits...but notice that there is not a SINGLE professional football/baseball/basketball/hockey player, because anyone with a clue (and who listens to their bodies natural nutritionary demands) knows that having a truly impressive physique and constitution, especially with respect to muscle mass thrives and depends on the consumption of meat.... Theres a reason there aren't any vegan bodybuilders.
WTF: Simple google search "Vegan Body Building" would prove your last sentence untrue. A simple search for "Vegan and Vegetarian Athletes" would prove the rest of your sentence untrue. How can you talk out of your arse without the slightest bit of research and be expected to be taken seriously?
Tony Gonzalez - NFL champion Bill Mannetti - Powerlifting Champion
Stan Price - Bench press World-record holder
Desmond Howard - football star & Heisman Trophy-winner
@Peregrine86 Jane Black- weightlifting champion Mac Danzig - mixed martial arts champion Tony Gonzalez- NFL Star Keith Holmes - middleweight boxing champion Billie Jean King - tennis champion Martina Navratilova - tennis champion Pat Neshek - NFL Star Fiona Oakes - Record-breaking marathon champion Bill Pearl - 4 x Mr. Universe winner Pat Reeves - Bodybuilding champion Weia Reinbound - WR holder in high-jump James Southwood - kickboxing champion Kenneth Williams - Bodybuilding champion
THE Keith Holmes?!?! Ok we get it...with a little luck a vegan diet might land you on the practidce squad of a preofessional sports team. Whoop-de-fucking-doo.
Doesn't matter. The fact remains that the most impressive athletic specimens are meat eaters....which also explains why 99 percent of the people you've listed neither i or anyone else have ever heard of "nfl star" pat neshek? LMFAO who the fuck is that? a vegan diet might be able to turn you into a borderline/fringe reserve player or something, but the fact remains THE BEST MEAT EATING ATHLETES ARE MORE IMPRESSIVE SPECIMENS THAN THE BEST VEGAN ATLHETES.
And as good as Tony Gonzalez (aka the only person on your list anyone might have heard of, he would be even better if he ate a little steak every now and then. If Arnold Schwarzenegger was vegan, maybe you'd have a little bit of a case...but he isn't.... And you don't.
Really, so when Carl Lewis won 9 gold medals he wasn't better than all the other runners he beat? Stan Price's world record means nothing because he is vegan? When Bill Pearl got chosen as Mr. Universe he wasn't the best specimen there? *facepalm*
It's people like you that perpetrate the myths about meat eating and performance that keep many athletes from experiencing it's benefits.
"most athletes have the worst diet in the world, and they compete in spite of it." - Carl Lewis
Any sport with physical contact, which demands lots of muscle mass, would be a death sentence for 95 percent of all vegan "athletes" And if carl lewis ate a little red meat, he probably could have won 12 of 13 gold medals. In cases like these, there prowess has less to do with their nutritional habits, and more to do with their inherent god given physical abilities. Bill Pearl would have won Mr. Universe weather or not he was a vegan,
12 or 13 medals? Why then would Lewis attribute his diet to the source of his wins then?
So if it is to do with their god given abilities and not their nutritional habits then the same thing could certainly be said of meat eating athletes, dummy. Only around 0.5% of the population is vegan, say 1% of them are athletes. The fact their are world class vegan athletes at all points out the faults in your logic.
Because, dipshit, he's a tree hugger just like you and he wants to spread the word because he's a noted animal rights activist. Thats the real reason he's vegan, certainly not because it gives him a competitive edge. And listing two world class vegan athletes (one of which hasn't competed in half a century) fails to prove your point whatsoever. If veganism was the way to go pretty much all athletes would adhere to it.
The fact that there are so few vegan athletes is a testament to this. the best nutritionists in the world are employed by professional sports teams to plan out the diets of athletes. And all of them eat meat. Not only because it tastes great, but because it gives them the best physical constitution possible.
unfortunately the enzymes soy inhibits prevents protein digestion...ergo vegetarians often have serious deficiencies with the uptake of certain essential amino acids
In addition, soybeans also contain hemagglutinin, a clot-promoting substance which causes red blood cells to clump together. These clustered blood cells cannot properly absorb oxygen for distribution to the body's tissues, and are unable to help in maintaining good cardiac health. Hemagglutinin and trypsin inhibitors are both "growth depressant" substances.
Soy is not the be all and end all of Vegan diets. Many of us don't eat it at all or consume it only rarely. That said any deficiencies a vegetarian might have is probably from a poorly planned diet. I have a friend who is "vegetarian" because all he eats is pasta. It's not a lifestyle choice to him, he just doesn't want to eat anything else.
I only pointed out that Pork is in fact not more nutritious than soy as you seem to believe.
But the sad thing is, soy is the best thing you confused hippies have going for you. And because of reasons I have already elaborated on, it is impossible and unhealthy to focus your source of nutrition solely off of soy. So if you aren't going to eat that everyday, what are you going to eat? pounds and pounds of broccoli? Get with the fucking program bro.
Every year there are countless stories of children dying because their vegan parents essentially starve them to death with their retarded diets. If you stand to lose your life over the manner in which you eat, that proves your lifestyle is flawed.
The children didn't die because their parents where vegan. The children died because they where starved.
Dr. Amy Lanou, nutrition director of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and an expert witness for the prosecution in one case, wrote that vegan diets are "not only safe for babies; they're healthier than ones based on animal products." She wrote that "the real problem was that [the child] was not given enough food of any sort.
The problem was the children had vegan parents, and vegans (such as yourself) are highly delusional human beings. They were only fed goat's milk. Although you could consider this starvation, the stupid vegan parents thought they were actually giving them a healthy diet. Which proves how ill in the head you morons are. These incidents simply would not have happened with non vegan families. End of story.
2. Stupid people exist pretty much everywhere, only "vegan" stories get hyper-sensationalised by the media. "White trailer trash abuses kid" has much less of a ring to it. As far as I know Christopher and Mary Sultze aren't vegans so there goes your "it wouldn't happen with anybody else" theory.
as i said, there will always be a minority demographic with anything, and as for pro vegan doctors they are far and few between. Big deal if a few support veganism. By far most don't so once again your point is moot. Every time you type you sound weaker and more desperate. please save what little face value you have left and go back to work or whatever it is that you do.
So 3 types of food in the world exist to you: Meat, soy and Broccoli? LMAO
Just so you know there is protein in pretty much everything we eat but Vegans focus on a mixture of grains, legumes and nuts and seeds for their high sources of protein and yes, we get enough. I just don't get how you can be so stupid as to assume that you can only build muscle from protein gained from meat. All of the largest, strongest animals in the world are herbivores.
In 2005, the Epic study, funded by the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, concluded that eating just two portions of red meat a day – the equivalent of a bacon sandwich and a fillet steak – increased the risk of bowel cancer by 35%.
That is just Bowel cancer, vegetarians are also 45% less likely to develop cancer of the blood than meat eaters. So why don't you study up, you ignoramus.
We may have used animal flesh to supplement our diet in the past when we didn't have agriculture and natural disasters meant other food sources where scarce. We even developed a taste for it(I don't debate that it tastes good). But if we were TRUE omnivores(bears, pigs) it wouldn't give us cancer or heart attacks!
@FriendlyWalrus “People often say that humans have always eaten animals, as if this is a justification for continuing the practice. According to this logic, we should not try to prevent people from murdering other people, since this has also been done since the earliest of times.”
although can technically survive without consuming meat, your health will not be fully realized unless you do. In this respect, eating meat IS very much necessary.
@FriendlyWalrus true; eating meat is necessary but it is absolutely unnecessary to propel this system of cruelty to animals. Get milk from local farms and happy cows; buy your beef at the farmers market, etc. You cannot simply say that because we need to eat meat that we have no responsibility towards the way in which the animal is slaughtered.
No drinking Milk is NOT necessary at all. Do you see a single other animal that drinks milk apart from the milk it gives it's young? I can't think of a more cruel thing to do than to force an animal to give birth every year, steal it's young so you can take its milk and then kill it when it is a quarter of the way into it's life to sell as crap burger meat. There is no such thing as a happy cow when her baby is taken away.
This is a total lie that is completely unsupported by science. Many people find the inverse is true. They feel healthier, fitter and stronger on a plant based diet and plenty of research has shown the benefit of living on a well planned vegetarian or vegan diet. Again, could you please do any research at all(third party, not funded by the meat and dairy industry) before you say such fallacious things.
You wanna know whats a lie and completely unsupported by science? VEGANISM
It serves no purpose to pretend that veganism is a healthy lifestyle choice. It's not. Eventually, the stores of vitamin B12 in your liver will be depleted and you'll descend into madness. (Well, more madness). I'm only slightly exaggerating. In addition to the B12 problem, you'll have problems with folate, too. (Another B vitamin.) It is important to supplement with both, when supplementing with one.
Do you know where B12 comes from in a meat diet? Shit. Bacteria in the gut produce it and animals ingest it in shit contaminated water. I just eat things that are fortified with B12 and avoid the poo juice step altogether. Folate I get from plants.
I really don't care what you eat, but when you lie and say veganism can't be healthy when you really don't know jack squat, well that shits me off.
There you go again, talking about something I posted like 10 posts ago because i've shat on all your recent arguments. And for the record. I didn't say being a vegan is completely unhealthy, im just stating the truth, which is that you will never be as healthy as you could be if you ate a little bit of meat. Nine ounces a week is all you need to work wonders. The truth is, no doctors recommend a vegan diet. If it was the way to go they would, but it isn't.
I'm at work douche bag, which is why I can't reply every 5 seconds. There are quite a few doctors who recommend it:
Dr. Dean Ornish
Dr. Esslestyn
Doctors with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), which claims that a vegan-style diet promotes weight loss and improves insulin sensitivity.
There are plenty more doctors who do recommend a vegan diet, but regardless you said no doctors do so that is obviously untrue.
It doesn't matter that you don't reply often: the fact is that when you do reply, your arguments are always weak. And of course a couple will promote it, but they are a vast minority. The fact that far and away most doctors (including mine and that of everyone i know) is a testament to the fact that it is an inferior lifestyle. We are finished here. I will continue debating with other, intelligent people, but frankly you have the rhetorical skills of a middle schooler. Good bye.
That is so funny, you say no doctors recommend veganism.
I say yes there are many prestigious doctors and associations that promote veganism's benefits.
You say your local GP and your friends GP's who's nutrition requirement of their PHD was probably a days study 10 or 20 years ago don't and that therefore you win the argument. It is your debating skills that leave much to be desired. Go away, I welcome your absence.
When i said there are no pro-vegan doctors. we both know what i mean....there are a couple, but not as many as there would be if veganism was that most healthy lifestyle possible. if that was the case, it would be promoted by renowned institutions like the american physicians association...but it isn't. Doctors are the foremost experts on health, therefore the fact that most of them do NOT support veganism proves it is not the way to go.
And for the record, I've proven you wrong every single time we've switched subjects. Thats why you have to resort to dumb technicalities. Plain and simple if veganism was more healthy than a diet with meat it would be as universally known and promoted as the fact that cigarettes are bad.... Alot of doctors promote and even prescribe marijuana (more than support veganism) but i'm not even gonna go there
Funny you should bring up the cigarettes thing. Did you know doctors use to promote smoking? Using your line of reasoning they should have all known how bad it was from the start! The science for the health benefits of a plant based diet are piling up:
American heart foundation " Many studies have shown that vegetarians seem to have a lower risk of obesity, coronary heart disease (which causes heart attack), high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus and some forms of cancer. "
The American Dietetic Association: , "Well-planned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.... It is the position of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada that appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." *BOOM*
"For the treatment of certain diseases" Exactly. In certain situations it may help with a certain sickness, but they are not condoning a 24/7 vegan diet, and even then their main point is really promoting the consumption of vegetables and plant matter. nowhere does it recommend abstaining from meat completely. And even then they are still in the minority.
@FriendlyWalrus Nice leaving off the prevention part of that sentence. I'm not trying to convert you to veganism, frankly I don't care what you do to your body. You stated that we had to eat meat. I disagreed. You said we couldn't get the right type of protein from plants. I pointed out that in fact we can. You said no sports people are vegans. I pointed out that there are. You said no doctors recommend it. I said more and more doctors do. Who is being "pig" headed in this argument?
"The report cited 100-year-old Ms Shizu Miyagi, who retains her traditional diet and… “often invites friends home to share a lunch of stewed pork leg, potatoes, rice and red beans.”Pork leg is, of course, full of fat – saturated fat. In fact, the people of Okinawa cook mainly with pork lard. Yet all that saturated fat and cholesterol did not clog up their arteries. It did not give them heart disease, diabetes or other degenerative diseases, it did not even make them fat!"
@FriendlyWalrus whatever source you are using is gravely mistaken. Okinawans have, even since ancient times, eaten copious amounts of meat, pork especially. I emphasized pig due to the irony with respect to the topic of this video. So the healthiest people in the world, are the healthiest due to their consumption of lots of hdl meat. And if the healthiest people in the world eat meat, that means everyone else should follow suit. I don;t know where you get your information from. youre misinformed
and even if they only ate a little meat (which again is not the case, you apparently use unreliable sources, it is still enough to make the difference. After all, all you need is nine ounces of red meat a week. So the fact that they eat any meat at all proves you are wrong and your diet is inferior.
"the quantity of pork consumption per person a year in Okinawa in 1979 was 7.9 kilograms" Compared to the US amount in 2005 of 46.5 lbs of just pork per person per year. That means they ate very little pork, not tonnes of it. Their diet has since changed and many consume meat in higher amounts, whether their longevity will remain remains to be seen.
"Pork appears so frequently in the Okinawan diet that to say "meat" is really to say "pork." [...] It is no exaggeration to say that the present-day Okinawan diet begins and ends with pork."
...and remember, were talking about the "elders" so pork consumption in 1979 is invalid in this argument"
and even then 7.9 kilograms is 7.9 kilograms of pork more than what vegans eat, which means that it is impossible to replicate the okinawan quality of life on a vegan diet. Meat, pork especially, MUST be consumed in order to realize their results. thank you for proving my point once again.
again, the important fact is that they eat any meat at all. since they do, you cannot make an argument, since you don't need much meat in the first place. In fact i will go so far to admit that if most vegans only ate a little meat, they would be among the healthiest in the world. Aside from lack of meat, the rest of your diet is very good
in that respect i apologize if i have come off as bashing every aspect of your diet, as that was not my intention. If you added only a LITTLE meat into your diet, i would admit you've got all your nutritional bases covered. but unless you eat that little bit of meat that you need, it would be inaccurate to give you that concession
@FriendlyWalrus We are talking about the life span of people who lived through 1979 and earlier. So what they ate then was FAR more relevant to their life span than what they eat now. The figure in 1979 is pretty indicative that the people who are now 110 didn't have access to that much meat through their life. Dear god, do I have to spell it out to you?
this also means that if you just eat the little amount of meat needed to satisfy what your body needs, you can live as long as the okinawans, but this also proves that meat is vital
Not necessarily, many researches believe it is the high amount of soy the Okinawans eat that generates a hormone called DHEA that is related to slowing ageing as well as their low calorific intake which has been linked time and time again to studies in longevity. In the end neither of us can win the argument about Okinawa's longevity because not enough scientific study exists.
No, dipshit. You vegans eat alot of soy jus like the Okinawans do.... but you don't get the same quality of life that they do. It's the little bit of meat they eat that makes the difference. But you're right you can't win the argument. I however, have.
Don't try and bargain for a truce. You know for a fact you have the weaker argument. Plain and simple if the healthiest people in the world are meat eaters, then everyone should follow suit, if they want the same length/quality of life.
Less than 1 in 100,000 people make it to 100 years old. Donald Watson, the man who invented the word "vegan", just turned 95. He has been vegan for over 60 years. Obviously, veganism is in its infancy if there wasn't even a word for it until 1944. There may have been vegans before that, but definitely not 100,000.
Therefore your argument is invalid. Seriously you haven't said an intelligent or well researched thing this entire time. YOU = FAIL.
WTF are you babbling about? All I said was that if the healthiest people in the world eat meat, it is impossible to say that YOU CANNOT AT LEAST IN PART ATTRIBUTE THEIR MEAT DIET TO THEIR SUCCESS. Soy has little to do with it. Their willing to embrace the one part of the food pyramid you're afraid of is why they will live longer than you... as Donald Watson died 7 years ago (so don't give me shit about not researching correctly, lmfao)
Vegan is just a word, you can call it whatever you want. Delusional people such as yourself have tried to sneak through life without eating meat for ages, and in the end quality of life is never fully realized, and even those who are very meticulous about their diet would fare even better if they ate just the nine ounces of red meat per week recommended by the fda. Just eat that and it compliments your body. Veggies are great, but not the entire nutritional picture
If they eat a lot more soy than they do pork than why the fuck would it have little to do with it?
As to my above post(and I corrected my facts about Donald in the one below it) I simply pointed out that you said that we don't get the same quality of life that Okinawan's do and completely ignored the fact that veganism in the mainstream is very recent. Frankly, Donald lived what, 20 years beyond the average life expectancy for men? So whatever.
Sorry my bad, Donald just died at 95. Maybe he should have gone vegan earlier, he could have turned 108 last year like Loreen Dinwiddie, who went Vegan in 1922 'cos the bible told her too: "God giveth the grains and the fruits of the earth for food: and for righteous man truly there is no other lawful sustenance for the body." ~ Jesus, The Gospel of the Holy Twelve" I'm no Christian but WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW???
how can you say I know jack shit when i continue to make you and your arguments look idiotic? Like i said I'm bored with you. You offer invalid and unchallenging arguments. Enjoy taking hundreds of supplements a day to compensate for what you refuse to intake due to your stupid diet and have a nice life.
I do have a nice life, and I don't take a hundred supplements because there are very few nutrients which I can't get through plants.
I have been vegan for over 3 years, I recently got my blood tested and I am well within the healthy range for all nutrients.
I agree people can eat meat occasionally without extreme negative effects, but it isn't necessary as an integral part of our diets. The main reasons for eating meat are habit, convenience and taste, not health.
@FriendlyWalrus You really have no idea what you are talking about. I don't eat any animal products and have excellent muscle definition. I have actually gained weight in muscle. My doctor, who was strongly against me going vegan, has even admitted that I am healthier than ever before. It's about having a well thought out meal plan. It's really not that difficult if you have half a brain.
but regardless of how healthy you are ow, you would be even halthier if you werent a pussy and incorporated some meat into your diet. I didnt say you're weak. Just not as healthy as you could be.... Your doctor is against it for a reason
@FriendlyWalrus WTF? He said he is healthier than he was eating meat you dick. His doctor told him that his diet has been beneficial. What is with your hyper aggressive macho BS? Does your daddy not love you or something and you have to take it out on other people?
@FriendlyWalrus PS: I don't eat any tofu whatsoever. I get roughly about 80 grams of protein a day and that is all plant based. My skin is incredibly clear, my hair and nails grow faster, and I have way more energy than I have ever had before. Not saying every one has to go vegan but it is 100 percent possible to do it the right way and be incredibly healthy and strong.
@SoulBeat123 Humans eat dogs and cats too, you know. Just FYI.
Hell, sometimes we even eat each other.
And most people don't give a shit if your 'vegan'. It's when 'vegans' think they can tell other people what they can eat, is when they get the shit beat out of them.
It is only when people tell me I can't be vegan that I tell them they are wrong. Also people talk big about attacking vegans, never heard it happen though.
Notic how nobody is siding with you. This is a pro-vegan video and you have no supporters because all of your arguments are weak and i've dispelled all of them. Now you're last line of defense is babbling about how my daddy doesn't love me? you're not even talking about the same news story I am. I'm tired of proving you wrong and shitting on your "arguments" will another vegan please step forward?
In Italy people eat pigs, cows, chickens, lambs even horses and rabbits. I don't think they're that different from pets, like cats and dogs. I think who loves animals should stop eating them. Otherwise, he/she would be only an hypocrite and kinda "racist".
pigs are amazing they don't deserve to be killed. they should be treated like friends. for all of u that like dogs and cats and don't like pigs, how would u feel if i sat in front of u and ate your newborn puppy? well that's how pig lovers feel. so shame on you. STOP PIG ABUSE! yeah i said pig abuse. pigs are cute little animals too.
Pigs can be pets or food like any other animal too. It depends on the culture of the country. We have a Juliana pig and I still eat pig products and I love it. Or I BBQ outide while Emma (her name) is running around my feet. Protecting animals from cruelty is ok but some people tend to take things to a level that is way too extreme.
@TurkishFoodIsYummy where do they contradict each other??? I did not say that I bbq Emma while she's running around my feet.. And who are you to advise that my opinion can't be taken seriously?
I find it funny how people say "human have carnivore teeth", and then I look at gorillas who are almost 100% vegetarians. And look at their teeth-much bigger than us, huh? Humans' teeth are capable of chewing many sorts of food, though some procession is usually needed. Herbivores and carnivores are in balance in the nature, but the way people "produce" meat is not. Can you see any sense in growing soy, feeding it to a pig, and then eating a steak made of the pig? Why not eat the soy instead.
It's very natural to be a vegan. Animal overpopulation is due to greedy humans breeding the hell out of them. Humans will always be more of a problem than other animals.
@qwondoflex The breeding is such a problem. Everyday shelters in every city are killing the animals as fast as they can while breeders create more and the inbreeding health issues multiply faster and faster.
this is my opinion. as much as i love animals (especially piggies) i eat meat. i love animals and will always fight for them but i dont think its neccesary to cut meat entirely because all we have to do is just treat them better. let the piglets enjoy life and kill the older sick ones. but before you talk crap about me and what i just said dont kill them how basically the terrorist kill our own soldiers do it in a humane way with out the violence. if we did that EVERYBODY WINS!!!!!!
@Rhino873 kill the older sick ones? Well, that meat is not going to be very tasty is it.. They need to be young, fit and healthy for the meat to be suitable to eat.
@chocolatechips84: 2. Animals ARE HARMED and treated with extreme cruelty, no matter what anyone says (videos are readily available online) There are very, very, very, very few farms that can actually use the word "cageless" and have it actually be the truth. Everything I am saying can be proven even if you do just a little bit of research. The choice is always yours, just know that you can always make changes for the better. We vegetarians/vegans are a pretty cool bunch and s welcome converts!
@Dani1967 but think about it. If every animal on earth decided to become herbivores, we would have no plants and too many animals. It is unnatural to be vegan. It is unnatural to kill in such cruel ways. Have you ever seen a snake eat a mouse? I have. It's not pretty, but it's nature. If we start to feel bad for the mouse and feed the snake plants, he won't get necessary nutrients. He will die. Humans didn't eat meat because they were mistaken. they ate because of instincts. Natural instincts.
@chocolatechips84 I'm sorry but that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read and typical of the mindset of not being able to look past your own plate. We would have no plants??? Are you aware that we feed 60% of the worlds grain's to animals to "fatten" them up? 60%!..Theoretically if USA cut their meat intake by 10% instead of that grain going to animals it would feed 100 million people.As far as too many Animals...how do you think we got so many? Human's breeding them perhaps?? cont.
@chocolatechips84 .......Wild animals have their own innate ways of population checking, and creatures that are out of control have either been introduced to an area with no predators or their predators have been wiped out by us. Of course the snake would eat a mouse...who suggested it shouldn't? You talk about instincts, but you do realize we can have this conversation because we are in a position to evolve our ideas??? Think about that, instead of your lunatic hypothetical plant only world.
@TheJameySuede I'm sorry, but I thought I posed my thoughts in a very polite manner. I'm afraid that, in my opinion, you haven't. I am simply stating my beliefs, and whether you agree with them or not, you will not be taken seriously if you start using ill-mannered words. You speak of "evolving ideas", but do you realize that we can't just suddenly change our bodies from "meat and crops" to just vegetables? It's unhealthy. We can't just say "oh, today I won't eat meat" and expect our (continued)
@TheJameySuede (from last comment) bodies to readily accept it. If we weren't in this everyday high tech world, we'd be living in the wild. You and everyone else in the world would be eating meat. I don't agree with the abusive animal treatment, but I don't think that means we should stop eating meat altogether. Maybe we can write a letter to the government, stating the problems about animal abuse. Maybe we can get stores to stop selling meat that was not treated properly. There are (continues)
@TheJameySuede (continued) other things to do besides changing our diet. In the end, what does it actually accomplish? The farms are still making money from people who eat meat, so they will continue abuse. There must be more done than just becoming vegetarian. Instead of fighting with eachother, why don't we unite? We can help the helpless animals.
@chocolatechips84 You obviously are a person that just waits to talk, rather than listening to what people have to say...If you think Vegetarianism is unhealthy you have been living under a rock for too long...I would suggest starting with a documentary like "Forks Over Knifes" and some unbiased googling, I take offense at uninformed ppl suggesting its not healthy,I haven't eaten meat in 15yrs and am perfectly healthy,there was no shock to my system, I get plenty of protein and I'm never sick!
Why does my side bar contain many videos of animals humping? does this video lead to the strange part of youtube?
i will turn back and set sail on a different adventure, this one be scary.

Vegans = stupid
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus How exactly are vegans accelerating pollution? Especially since factory farming is the leading cause of global warming. Vegans don't support factory farming. That's kinda sorta the whole fucking point. And exactly how does choosing to not eat meat make me a pussy? I hear this all the time but I have never hear an intelligent retort as to why.
And I said that I am healthier than ever before. Meaning I used to be a meat eater and as a vegan I am healthier. You = stupid/ignorant.
SuperDionnewarwick 6 days ago
@SuperDionnewarwick
I didn't say they are exclusively. The problem with you guys are you think you are making a huge difference deciding not to eat animals. You're not even making the slightest difference. Also, folic acid.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus I know that I, alone, am not making a huge difference. Obviously. But the more of us there are, the lesser demand for animal products. I could be passive and ignore the fact that there is this huge problem in the world, but I can't do that. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world".
SuperDionnewarwick 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrusFactory farming is a serious problem. Not even necessarily the consumption of meat, but the way it is produced and industrialized. I refuse to support that industry. The way we spend our money is our greatest power. Even more than the actual voting system. And meat consumption has actually gone down over the past 5 years, after increasing over the last 50.
SuperDionnewarwick 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus And another thing, there are plenty of fruits and vegetables that contain folic acid. I get plenty of folic acid, B12, etc
SuperDionnewarwick 6 days ago
@SuperDionnewarwick
but you have to take a shit ton of pills and supplements. Too much work for me.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
which means that if it werent for supplements it would be all but impossible to be a successful vegan. This in turn proves that a diet that includes meat is inherently better.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus Who said I take pills? I don't take any pills. Zero supplements. I get everything I need naturally from my food, and my doctor even approves that I am not deficient in any vitamins or minerals. Far from it in fact. You gotta be smart about it, that's all.
SuperDionnewarwick 6 days ago
@SuperDionnewarwick
It's impossible to get every single nutrient you need as a vegan without supplements. Even if you are relatively healthy, the fact remains you would be even healthier if you ate a little steak and chicken.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus Okay but I am telling you that I don't take any. I am not vitamin deficient in any way. So it is possible. I realize that eating a little meat here and there would be fine, but I already stated that I am doing this because I am strongly against factory farming. And also, I know plenty of meat eaters who take vitamins and supplements. I really don't care to argue too much more about this. I'm at the greatest health of my life, and I'm simply stating that it is possible w/o meat.

@SoulBeat123
because humans are intended to eat meat. Its programmed into our DNA and many nutrients key to leading a healthy life can only be obtained by carnivorous habits. For gods sake they call it the "domestic pig" because its a subspecies of pig bred and created for one purpose: being consumed by us. Enjoy your tofu.
FriendlyWalrus 2 weeks ago
@FriendlyWalrus Do you have anything carnivores have? Or even true omnivores?
Claws? NO. Short Intestinal tract? NO. Ability to digest RAW meat without getting sick? NO.
Does eating meat double your risk of cancer? YES! Are you 30% more likely to get heart disease from eating meat? YES!
Where did the animal get the nutrients from? Oh yeah, plants. Hmm, yes my DNA makes it difficult for me to kill and eat animals and then sends me some cancer and a heart attack when I succeed.
Peregrine86 1 week ago
@Peregrine86
1. cleraly you've never heard of sushi
2. Eating tons and tons of RED meat and RED meat alone may give you some health problems, but pork aka "the other white meat" is very good for you...much more sustainence than something like soy
3. It is a proven fact (i encourage all to look this up) that vegetarians are weaker and have less muscle mas than those who eat meat on a regular basis
stupid hippies..
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus 1. While sashimi isn't cooked, it doesn't come to your plate raw. They freeze it to kill the bacteria and parasites that would make you sick.
2. The science is pretty clear, the more meat you eat, the more you put yourself at risk. As to nutrients pork vs soy, well soy is the clear winner; more iron, less fat and more protein per calorie, plus a better nutrient balance.
3.Check out Vegan body building.
It is about adequate nutrition, not meat.
Peregrine86 1 week ago
@Peregrine86
Thus protein synthesis can occur only to the extent that the limiting amino acids are available ..thats why im stronger than you
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus
And for the record continuous consumption of soy can lead to thyroid inhibition, and has several powerful enzyme inhibitors that prevent the uptake of several key nutrients, such as trypsin...but im sure you knew that already
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 1 week ago
@Peregrine86
Although the act of fermenting soybeans does de-activate both hemagglutinin and trypsin inhibitors, cooking and precipitation do not. Although these enzyme inhibitors are found in reduced levels within precipitated soy products like tofu, they are not completely eliminated.
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@Peregrine86
And you're forgetting something...those Okinawa residents are not body starving vegans. They incorporate a little soy into their diet to reap from some of its positive properties, sure, but are intelligent enough to realize that one cannot effectively (or safely) be used as one's sole source of nutrition.
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus
WRONG. The majority of the Okinawan's diet is plant based. They very occasionally have fish or pork on holidays but the amount of flesh eaten is like 3% of what we consume. They eat almost no eggs or milk. Again look it up.
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
how about you look up pictures of okinawans. Bunch of fucking bean poles. I could break most of them in half with a single hand.... length of life and quality of life are two completely different things, and it's really hard to get the latter on a vegan diet.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
How do you know about quality of life if you've never fucking tried it? Are you afraid to not eat meat because you think your masculinity will suffer? Is that why you're so hyper aggressive and obsessed with breaking people in half? Must be a dumb American red neck thing.
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Good thing you told me to "look it up" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus Yes, they like pork when they have it which is rarely and they don't waste it. I didn't tell you to look up the western "Okinawa diet" I told you to look up what the elders eat:
A little fish, very little pig and the rest all plants.
Peregrine86 6 days ago

FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
oh but i did. every source online says they eat a LOT or meat, especially pork. that means it is you who didn't to their research right. FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago

FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 1 week ago
@Peregrine86

@Peregrine86
Imcorrect again, my misguided hippie friend. hundreds of thousands of years of evolution are what is responsible for sending these signals. If there was a better, more effecient medium of sustanence, our natural instincs/tendencies would drive us towards that instead. However, this is not the case.

@FriendlyWalrus
..there there may be a one or two "athletes" who swear by these emaciating eating habits...but notice that there is not a SINGLE professional football/baseball/basketball/hockey player, because anyone with a clue (and who listens to their bodies natural nutritionary demands) knows that having a truly impressive physique and constitution, especially with respect to muscle mass thrives and depends on the consumption of meat.... Theres a reason there aren't any vegan bodybuilders.

@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
Universe weather or not he was a vegan,
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
And bill pearl competed in the 1950's. He wouldn't stand a chance today unless he was a meat eater.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
The fact that there are so few vegan athletes is a testament to this. the best nutritionists in the world are employed by professional sports teams to plan out the diets of athletes. And all of them eat meat. Not only because it tastes great, but because it gives them the best physical constitution possible.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
unfortunately the enzymes soy inhibits prevents protein digestion...ergo vegetarians often have serious deficiencies with the uptake of certain essential amino acids
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus
FriendlyWalrus 1 week ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
But the sad thing is, soy is the best thing you confused hippies have going for you. And because of reasons I have already elaborated on, it is impossible and unhealthy to focus your source of nutrition solely off of soy. Every year there are countless stories of children dying because their vegan parents essentially starve them to death with their retarded diets. If you stand to lose your life over the manner in which you eat, that proves your lifestyle is flawed.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago

1. Goats milk isn't vegan - ergo not a vegan diet

That is just Bowel cancer, vegetarians are also 45% less likely to develop cancer of the blood than meat eaters. So why don't you study up, you ignoramus.

@FriendlyWalrus true; eating meat is necessary but it is absolutely unnecessary to propel this system of cruelty to animals. Get milk from local farms and happy cows; buy your beef at the farmers market, etc. You cannot simply say that because we need to eat meat that we have no responsibility towards the way in which the animal is slaughtered.
lschoco 1 week ago
@lschoco

@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
Do you know where B12 comes from in a meat diet? Shit. Bacteria in the gut produce it and animals ingest it in shit contaminated water. I just eat things that are fortified with B12 and avoid the poo juice step altogether. Folate I get from plants.
I really don't care what you eat, but when you lie and say veganism can't be healthy when you really don't know jack squat, well that shits me off.
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
Good bye.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
And for the record, I've proven you wrong every single time we've switched subjects. Thats why you have to resort to dumb technicalities. Plain and simple if veganism was more healthy than a diet with meat it would be as universally known and promoted as the fact that cigarettes are bad.... Alot of doctors promote and even prescribe marijuana (more than support veganism) but i'm not even gonna go there
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus Nice leaving off the prevention part of that sentence. I'm not trying to convert you to veganism, frankly I don't care what you do to your body. You stated that we had to eat meat. I disagreed. You said we couldn't get the right type of protein from plants. I pointed out that in fact we can. You said no sports people are vegans. I pointed out that there are. You said no doctors recommend it. I said more and more doctors do. Who is being "pig" headed in this argument?
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus whatever source you are using is gravely mistaken. Okinawans have, even since ancient times, eaten copious amounts of meat, pork especially. I emphasized pig due to the irony with respect to the topic of this video. So the healthiest people in the world, are the healthiest due to their consumption of lots of hdl meat. And if the healthiest people in the world eat meat, that means everyone else should follow suit. I don;t know where you get your information from. youre misinformed
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
and even if they only ate a little meat (which again is not the case, you apparently use unreliable sources, it is still enough to make the difference. After all, all you need is nine ounces of red meat a week. So the fact that they eat any meat at all proves you are wrong and your diet is inferior.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
and even then 7.9 kilograms is 7.9 kilograms of pork more than what vegans eat, which means that it is impossible to replicate the okinawan quality of life on a vegan diet. Meat, pork especially, MUST be consumed in order to realize their results. thank you for proving my point once again.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
again, the important fact is that they eat any meat at all. since they do, you cannot make an argument, since you don't need much meat in the first place. In fact i will go so far to admit that if most vegans only ate a little meat, they would be among the healthiest in the world. Aside from lack of meat, the rest of your diet is very good
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
in that respect i apologize if i have come off as bashing every aspect of your diet, as that was not my intention. If you added only a LITTLE meat into your diet, i would admit you've got all your nutritional bases covered. but unless you eat that little bit of meat that you need, it would be inaccurate to give you that concession
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus We are talking about the life span of people who lived through 1979 and earlier. So what they ate then was FAR more relevant to their life span than what they eat now. The figure in 1979 is pretty indicative that the people who are now 110 didn't have access to that much meat through their life. Dear god, do I have to spell it out to you?
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
its this simple:
1.Okinawans are the healthiest in the world
2. Okinawans eat SOME meat. Maybe not alot, but enough to satisfy their nutritional need
3. You vegans have very similar diets to the okinawans with the exception of the little bit of meat they eat
4. Therefore THE LITTLE BIT OF MEAT THEY CONSUME IS WHAT SETS THEM APART AND MAKES THEM HEALTHIER
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
-irrefutable
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
this also means that if you just eat the little amount of meat needed to satisfy what your body needs, you can live as long as the okinawans, but this also proves that meat is vital
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@Peregrine86
No, dipshit. You vegans eat alot of soy jus like the Okinawans do.... but you don't get the same quality of life that they do. It's the little bit of meat they eat that makes the difference. But you're right you can't win the argument. I however, have.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Don't try and bargain for a truce. You know for a fact you have the weaker argument. Plain and simple if the healthiest people in the world are meat eaters, then everyone should follow suit, if they want the same length/quality of life.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
YOU = FAIL.
Peregrine86 3 days ago
@Peregrine86
FriendlyWalrus 3 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
FriendlyWalrus 3 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 3 days ago
@Peregrine86
Peregrine86 3 days ago
@Peregrine86
how can you say I know jack shit when i continue to make you and your arguments look idiotic? Like i said I'm bored with you. You offer invalid and unchallenging arguments. Enjoy taking hundreds of supplements a day to compensate for what you refuse to intake due to your stupid diet and have a nice life.
FriendlyWalrus 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus
Peregrine86 6 days ago
@FriendlyWalrus You really have no idea what you are talking about. I don't eat any animal products and have excellent muscle definition. I have actually gained weight in muscle. My doctor, who was strongly against me going vegan, has even admitted that I am healthier than ever before. It's about having a well thought out meal plan. It's really not that difficult if you have half a brain.

@FriendlyWalrus PS: I don't eat any tofu whatsoever. I get roughly about 80 grams of protein a day and that is all plant based. Not saying every one has to go vegan but it is 100 percent possible to do it the right way and be incredibly healthy and strong.

Why not eat the soy instead.

this is my opinion. as much as i love animals (especially piggies) i eat meat. i love animals and will always fight for them but i dont think its neccesary to cut meat entirely because all we have to do is just treat them better. let the piglets enjoy life and kill the older sick ones. but before you talk crap about me and what i just said dont kill them how basically the terrorist kill our own soldiers do it in a humane way with out the violence. if we did that EVERYBODY WINS!!!!!!

Dani1967 5 months ago
@Dani1967 but think about it. If every animal on earth decided to become herbivores, we would have no plants and too many animals. It is unnatural to be vegan. It is unnatural to kill in such cruel ways. Have you ever seen a snake eat a mouse? I have. It's not pretty, but it's nature. If we start to feel bad for the mouse and feed the snake plants, he won't get necessary nutrients. He will die. Humans didn't eat meat because they were mistaken. they ate because of instincts. Natural instincts.
chocolatechips84 4 months ago
@chocolatechips84 I'm sorry but that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read and typical of the mindset of not being able to look past your own plate. We would have no plants??? Are you aware that we feed 60% of the worlds grain's to animals to "fatten" them up? 60%!..Theoretically if USA cut their meat intake by 10% instead of that grain going to animals it would feed 100 million people.As far as too many Animals...how do you think we got so many? Human's breeding them perhaps?? cont.
TheJameySuede 1 month ago
@chocolatechips84 .......Wild animals have their own innate ways of population checking, and creatures that are out of control have either been introduced to an area with no predators or their predators have been wiped out by us. Of course the snake would eat a mouse...who suggested it shouldn't? You talk about instincts, but you do realize we can have this conversation because we are in a position to evolve our ideas??? Think about that, instead of your lunatic hypothetical plant only world.

@TheJameySuede I'm sorry, but I thought I posed my thoughts in a very polite manner. I'm afraid that, in my opinion, you haven't. chocolatechips84 1 month ago
@TheJameySuede (continued) other things to do besides changing our diet. In the end, what does it actually accomplish?
