@kkpennysmasher well thank you . Because I was simple crushed . I mean to think someone did not like my slide show I was about to go jump off the bridge I took the pics from . You saved me thanks . make sure you tell all your friends how sensitive i am . lol
The rail yards use to cover where coors field is and all the apartments and parks along the plate . We had switch yards where apartments are . There is some rail yards left . But they are getting smaller and smaller .
Yes the management isn't the greatest in the UP but who are you to say that I'm mentally challenged for warning ppl that this stuff isn't anything to fooled around with. 1 Locomotive = 350,000-425,000 lbs and 1 railcar empty is about 50,000. Loaded 250,000 lbs. In yards cars are being seperated and filed into all the tracks. You never know when they are coming they are completly silent with no locomotives around. Slaves don't make 75,000-100,000 a year. You sir are the mentally challenged 1
I hear you Moonshine. But that trip will forever be in my memory as the time I cut loose and took some time to explore my country. I never would have done it if my bro Jason wasn't there. Oh before anyone tries it double check about which way the train will be heading, it can be a bit confusing in the yard. Trial by error could leave you with a few scrapes and bumps.
Back in 1999 I was travelling with a friend of mine from the midwest who knew the yard so we sneaked in through an opening in the fence and found one of the 48'cars that have the two cubby holes on the ends of them.I'm sure a railroad worker saw my ass but he didn't call the cops. We went through some amazing country far from any roads or towns. The trains will stop sometimes out in the middle of nowhere where you can take in the great scenery. I liked the Utah desert the most I think.
Thats not too smart of a thing to do. Not only is it going to get you arrested, you might get seriously injured or worse killed. Sure it seems like a good idea, but as an UP employee, if something happens to you out in the middle of no where, and you get seriously hurt, no one is going to know about you, or where you are. It is beautiful scenery, but a train could also derail and it does happen because of broken track or human caused, you could be crushed and you never win with these things.
I think that they will make it part of the light-rail . I remember when the area to the southwest was rail yards , now that area is all parks and apartments . the change is for the better .
sorry dude changed my mind it's a great slideshow. didn't mean to hurt your feelings

Rail yards at Coors Field? I seriously doubt that. That's the north end of LoDo, an old warehouse district.

Soon to be were RTD will have a station .
