But doesn't everyone want to attack Duggan. I think Duggan would want to attack himself due to self loathing. :)
It's actually too bad for WCW Goldberg didn't come about until after the NWO storyline had run its course, as his monster popularity forced them to redo the long term storyline they had with Sting. Still, they had to do it. Fans chanted GB's name even in matches he didn't appear in.
@dbsommers1 What are you talking about? Goldberg's first match was in September 1997. The nWo had not run its course yet because at that time Hogan vs Sting at Starrcade had not yet taken place, nor had the nWo Wolfpack been formed yet, Bret Hart hadn't arrived yet, and Scott Steiner was not yet Big Poppa Pump. The nWo had pretty much ran its course after the Summer of 1998.
Brett's own book says that when he was asked if he could do the Scorpion Deathlock, he didn't know what is was. Even Jim Ross says that Stinger was doing the move before Hart.
Anyway if you look at the move you can see why it's called the Scorpion.
sting copied bret harts sharpshooter hahah he cant even lock as bret used to do no one on earth can lock sharpshooter as bret used to do he used to twist the legs full bak. and second sting is a rat if he had guts he would go in wwe and fight cena or triple h or orton . sting can only fight light weight people like jeff hardy...
@brethartforlife2010 do your research before someone who is a true fan makes you look foolish. I won't try to but fyi the move was not made by either man. It was only made famous by them. & Sting used it before Hart.
@brethartforlife2010 ...rofl.......you'd prolly also catch a lot of shit, for this from anyone that does know why sting didn't sign with wwe but, being fair you prolly didn't see the interview he did about his decision. Pretty much cause he saw who underutilized the former wcw "stars" were being treated there he basically decided he wasn't going to become a soon to be out of work superstar which is why he is now in tna.
@brethartforlife2010 FUCKING WRONG. Ronnie Garvin and Sting used the "Scorpion Hold" as it was originally called way before Bret. Bret Hart himself says so in his book. Pat Patterson is the one who told Bret to start using the then Scorpion Deathlock and changed the name to the Sharpshooter to go with the "Hitman" gimmick.
Your name makes your lack of knowledge on the subject all the more annoying. Why not read Hart's books. They're great and thorough on his history.
@brethartforlife2010 The Sharpshooter isn't even the original name of the move. The original name is Sasori-gatame aka Scorpion Hold in English. Riki Choshu created the move in Japan. Bret Hart was not the first person to use this move. Ronnie Garvin and Sting were the FIRST wrestlers to prolifically use the move in North America. When Sting and Ronnie Garvin were using the move, Bret Hart didn't even know what it was at the time. Get your facts straight before you trash Sting.
@brethartforlife2010 Also, Sting is no rat. Sting is smart for not going to WWE and getting buried the way Vince always buries talent from other companies (examples include DDP, Kidman, Scott Steiner, Booker T (who isn't half the star in WWE that he was in WCW). It has nothing to do with guts. Wrestling is scripted, so guts has nothing to do with it. Sting has fought Hogan, Flair, Hardy Boyz, Goldberg, Steve Austin (in WCW as "Stunning" Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Booker T etc. Sting is no rat.
I remeber watching this when it happened! I have it on tape too. I was head over heels for Sting. I tuned in every week hoping to see him. I miss these days of wrestling!!
@Stingboy316 yeah so true I have this and other Nitro tapes on VHS.. Not even Vince can take that away from us. Why did Time Warner sell WCW to WWF? I miss WCW and this is the best Sting ever. Until he talked and all that...
@Stingboy316 It was a great angle, one of the best in wrestling history. They should have kept it going longer instead of having him join the NWO red and black which was ridiculous.
You're misunderstanding him. This was the debut of the wavy lines. Throughout 1996 he had the two straight lines but in January 1997 he changed the crow look to the wavy lines going down the side of his face.
Not the debut, and so not Manson-like, I mean, where does that come from? He look nothing like the dried up, unoriginal poser Manson. He got his inspiration from The Crow, lol.
nope, the storyline was just that he was mad about wcw thinking he had joined the nwo, when infact it was the bogus sting, thus the reason he attacked duggan who was waving the flag.
I thought he was nWo after this. Almost made me cry.
