This isn't trail in my mind. This is going down your really strangely laid out driveway to get the mail type of class. (I'm into competitive trail riding, lol) This stallion is gorgeous, but like apostlenkoda said: my Appy is definately the best! XD
@MidnightEverAfter you should see him RUN!!! Zip is not just his name ;) the class he's in in this vid requires slow methodic movement...and oh btw...they do RACE Appys ;)
Beautiful horse! I LOVEEE Appiesss!!! Hey, do you mind if I use this video in my Appaloosa video? I am trying to show everyone that Appies and POAs are just as good (if not better) than other horses, since they aren't judged fairly in shows. Let me know, thanks!
This was an amazing video to watch. Even tho my preferred riding style is English, it is impossible to not be impressed by the sheer skill and horsemanship displayed here. Good job to the rider, and if its not him, then the trainer too. This horse is an amazing example of what people should be aiming for in all disciplines :)
wow his name serves him right, what an impressive performance. quite complicated at the world level, it's amazing. the boxes get smaller, moves get more difficult, but he does a great job responding to your aids and being handy.
Lol I love the jumping over the poles. He takes them like it's a bounce. I have an appy X qh cross. When he was a stallion (up to when he was 5) he was a championship cutting, halter and pleasure horse. I want to do more halter with him and do a little pleasure and barrel racing. I also do a little dressage, jumping and trial riding (like 2-4 hours) I would love to know how to get him to slow down his lope like your horse does. Mine has a slow jog but lopes kinda quickly. Any tips?
OMG, this is sooooooo sloooooow. Neither me nor my horses have the patience for something like this, and we all hack (trail ride is the american word for hack)
they are amazing at all discaplines along with a garentie to catch the eyes of judges with that snazy coat, they have wonderful unique personalities!! and will love you forever, my appy loves me like i was is girl!! heck i am!! xD lol
western isnt always slow it was you want your horse to do i mean i have a Qh who rides english adn western and she is never slow unless she has been worked a while but what can i say she is only 3 but i ride western doing barrels and ride english jumping 2 foot
Beautiful appy. Well bred. However, I have never understood what the show circuit(western pleasure class, etc.) finds so appealing about that peanut roller headset and a walk so slow that the horse looks as if it will tip over. Nice job, though.
The point of it is that the horse looks pleasurey (thats not a word, I know) If you ever look at the hunter horses, they kinda look excited all the time because their heads are up and what not..but for western the horse is supposed to look very calm, which they do.
Beautiful Appy. He's my favorite type--blanket. What a wonderful job you two did. He looks like a great ride.
Just curious if it really is his real tail. A friend of mine has a Quarter Horse whose tail is kind of thin, and sews an extention in for halter and conformation classes.
There's nothing wrong with a real Appy's scraggly tail! It's one of the things that makes the breed unique, along with the spots, mottled skin, etc.
jawbreaker90210, you obviosly dont know how long it takes to train any horse to do that! try it someday. wow! that turn on the forehand was brilliant! im teaching my appys 2 do that! did you see the loose rein? all the time! his bending was good. and that zig-zag bending? very Impressive! great lope. thats side pass around corner, perfect! great tail too, DreaminDun, ur right!
He's a beautiful Appy, and it's nice to see that he doesn't have the typical, scraggly tail that most appys have. Excellent vid. He's very colorful, too. Beautiful blanket.

If I had tried this with my horse, I'd have had trouble fromt he start. For some reason, my horse has a fixation with eating anything purple.
This guy was amazing though, he did this beautifully and even the horse was beautiful. I <3 Apps.

You can pretty much have them in any discipline, they do make excellent english style horses, next to barrel racing :)
MissLovettsHorse 3 years ago
Me and my Appy are barrel racers and western pleasurers.
I prefer to use Appys as western, such as Quarterhorses, but some do English.
