  • Drums pattern are something... quite sexy, i don't know how to explain it

  • Best song off of the entire album! <3

  • its massive ,always the bass and the riff

  • Coisa incrível... pra quem ta na depressão como eu...

o cara passa total angústia na voz única que ele tem

qualquer um que ouvir isso, lava a alma

graças a Deus, Ian existe pra tirar a gente desse estado absurdo da depressão

    divino dom

  • SU MAJESTAD IAN CURTIS!

  • great music

  • beautiful scenery accompany great music... then you peekaboo in the dark, and finally i see you in bright shining light.. you surprised me :(

  • Great music. Why the sound as to be SO BAD?????

  • the most robotic, most detached joy division song... one of the most effective pieces on closer. it has the sense of inevitable doom totally accepted without even any feeling of regret.

  • @ravenouscolonelhart Inevitability?Quite. Like the first shovel of dirt to fall on the face as you are being buried alive.

  • el tema es un flash , pero el video es un BOLIFLASH

  • ra d i o , .

  • whose that guy staring stupidly into the camera?

  • sublime! ¬w¬

  • Superb, absolutely superb. This is pure genius!!

  • Quien es el primate que sale en el video?

  • great!...

  • This might be the most well-done individual song ever. The lyrics are distinctly of that of someone who is awaiting a tragic event which he anticipates will not be good for him--ie a passover. Plus, the music is even better. Can't you sense the reflection of a ghost or spirit passing by during the chord progression?

Man, even the title has a powerful resonance...

  • this, and New Dawn Fades. Both will destroy you...

  • RIP Ian, we are thinking of you.

  • great sound, but the background could be in blue, instead of yellow or sunset..

  • 34 23 33 12 18 19

  • Wicked Tune!

  • Love the drums,mr morris was fantastic

  • 2nd that

  • @djspl51bw 3rd it n 4th too! :)

  • yea deep, ethereal, sublime, another excellent JD track

  • ...or pass through the deserts and wastelands once more and watch as they drown by the beach...

Why people don't write lyrics like that anymore?

  • brilliant lyrics, that's for real

  • I agree

  • Closer is such a great albums. Much better than Unknown Pleasures, in my opinion

  • Totally agree with you.

  • THUMB!

  • They sound like Green Day! (Before you give me a thum down. I will say you: It was a joke!)... why Ian? *sorry for my english, i'm just a fucking craut*

  • Go and achieve an IQ you fuckwit.

Whats the point in commenting with something like that? Thick fuck.

  • Think about while listening...

  • Who is that sad bastard in the photo?! Fuck him!

  • hahaha

  • He is so hot =***

  • yes...they burnt up together, both of them

  • hummmm, "Is this the gift that I wanted to give?

forgive and forgets what they teaaaaaaach"...

    ^______^

  • Amazing and Dark song

  • I'm listening to the most demonic production techniques I've ever heard, and some guy is so self-possessed that he parks himself in the middle of the screen. Unbefuckinbelievable.

  • You're right. Because "happy music" is soooo intelligent.

Go and enjoy your Lady GaGa and Britney Spears Mr. Dumb Dumb.

  • I'm surprised some people think Closer is better than Unknown Pleasures.

  • But this song is on Closer! And it's just one of many extraordinary songs on that album.

  • I know it's on Closer, but I just think Unknown Pleasures is much better.

  • musically closer is better than unknown pleasures, you can tell with the practice and time they produced, this was the music of joy division, the past songs are great but this was the end of the future and it was great, closer is alot easier to listen to, i find myself skipping tracks alot on UP bores me, closer rocks, Ians voice is amazing

  • I like Closer more, i think it's a better mix

of songs. Very interesting tunes on that

record. I do love Unknow Pleasures alot.

  • I can listen to Closer straight through...not so with Unknown Pleasures

  • Yeah, Closer is slightly better overall. But Unknown Pleasures still has some really great songs on it. Perhaps even a few that are better than anything on Closer.

  • / agree i can listen closer over and over ... unknown pleasures just isnt the same

  • "When the souls rise in the light of their joy, my soul ascends glorified by the dark of grief. I am like you, Night! And when my morn comes, then my time will end." Kahlil Gibran 1883-1931

    R.I.P Ian!

  • Happy Passover all another great Passover song besides Creeping Death by Metallica.

  • whos that random cunt

  • lmfao random cunt !! took the words straight outta my mouth xx

  • I agree with iancurtis51880, this song is disturbingly eerie. Which is probably why it's my favorite Joy Division moment, especially the musical interlude after "I'll count up my beauties when all's said and done, I know that I'll lose every time"

    Sheer genius. RIP.

  • up my DUTIES not beauty

  • This song gives me chills. I don't even know how to describe it. wow

  • A question. Does anyone know if Tony Wilson was ever in the pay of u2? I ask this, because I remember reading once where he was praising u2 as being the inheritors of Joy Divisions torch, or some bollocks like that. It was on the back of a book, I think. But it wouldn't surprise me if that person, i.e. the would be saviour of the world etc etc had "encouraged" him to say this, thus giving u2 the ultimate artistic status he so yearned / yearns for. Anyone know?

  • I have recently become intrigued by the possibility that the producer Hannet may have been the wonderful ingredient, and not Curtis. For though the wonderful lyrics were his, no doubt, I just think New Order are mortal. This band was untouchable - along with Syd Barrett, Joy Division, in my opinion represent the only two instances of genius, that overused word, in the popular music of these isles since electrification in music. The question is, was Curtis's epilepsy the genius, or Hannet?

  • hermoso el tema..pero qué onda el tipo del video, re figuretti!!

Hubieraspuesto una de Ian Curtis al menos..

  • thanks - this was one of my favorite JD songs. Those of us with Clinical Depression need this sometimes:)

  • hell yeah... u right !!!

  • @brokery999 True...

  • @brokery999 clinical depression doesnt have to be about listening to dark music you know.

  • pustki

  • this guy was such a lyrical genious!

  • alto boliflash

  • Complete shit :O

What the fack are you? A cunt?

    5*****

  • it was obviously a joke you dumbfuck

  • a timeless masterpiece...

  • I recommended also this song as a cover by polish band "Pustki"

  • My very favorite JD song-the greatest emotional impact. It's absolute dread and resignation set to music.

  • @iancurtis51880 tiens,t'es pas mort ian?et the eternal,in a lonely place,decades,wilderness,love will....,ça ne compte plus?

  • @iancurtis51880 And on the album the follow up is Colony, it's great shit.

  • unique sound

  • I loveeeee this song!!!

  • one of Joy Divisions best
