  • good ideas and stuff... but i think if u showed how each could be used... more specifically... like if u made them into a cool picture... then it would be more appealing to ppl...

i think those effects would be useful for me... but using downloaded brushes is so much easier... but... then i feel like i cheated haha...

  • sorry i forgot to mention nice tutorial! really helped me

  • no problem^^ glad you like it and thanks for the compliment.

I use windows xp home and the software used in the tutorial is ps cs3.

    hope this answered your question^^

  • what operating system do you have?

  • I've learned so much thanks! I love the end result :)

  • you are very welcome. glad it was useful^^

    thanks for the comment

  • its very nice!!

How can I download that Program? :)

  • the software is called adobe photoshop cs3, but it's not freeware. you'll have to buy it somewhere^^

    sry

  • great video, sometimes it's a bit fast but tons of useful tips in there thanks!

  • thanks a bunch for the compliment and the constructive criticism^^

good to know that people are still finding it useful despite the fact that I stuttered all the way through the tut =P

  • omg, fantastic... cant wait to try it on my own...

  • ^^ have fun on your go and thanks for the comment

  • lol thanks alot; too bad im a beginner so it look like crap =D

  • ;D maybe it's not as bad as you think^^ maybe a few more tries and you'll like it better.

    thanks for the comment.

  • lol

  • I don't find the texture thing

  • =/ sorry. I don't think I can really help you much at this point, since I'm not really sure which "texture thing" you mean.

all the textures (in this case) are basically made by whoever is using photoshop, using the filters provided by the software.

you can find the filters in the menu bar.

if they are not there, I suppose you'll be missing the plugins for some reason. perhaps it would help to reinstall photoshop.

    hope this helps.

  • To the brush..

  • which photoshop version are you using? if you have either cs3 or cs, I could maybe help find the textures in the brush palette.^^

  • That was an amazing tutorial! i learned so much cool stuff =D thanks sooo much!!!!

  • Thanks for the compliment and the feedback ;D

Glad to know it was useful to you^^

  • Good job on the Tutorial!

I've been working with Photoshop for about 1-2 weeks, and I could still keep up with it (had to pause once in a while ofcourse)

Taught me alot of new things, I especially enjoyed the part with the brush-managing.

Results were great, not as neat as yours, but I like it nevertheless!

    So Thank you :)

  • you are very welcome^^

glad to know you enjoyed things and that you learned something new.

I appreciate the feedback, too. so thanks to you as well. =D

  • Does someone know how to decrease the square pixels? I mean you got a picture from video or internet, how to enlarge from 320x240/640x480 to 1280x1024 or higher, you'll know what will it get (Larg square pixel, low quality picture) which I don't want it. But how do you get high quality wallpaper from a small pixel picture? The easy example to see is by this video at 0:06 to 0:08 min.

    Does anyone tell me?

  • you can hardly get a good quality pic when enlarging an image. it's like covering a piece of paper with sand. and then trying to use the same amount of sand to cover a football field. in a similar way, you won't have enough pixels in the right place and color when upsizing. it simply doesn't work nicely. (sorry about the dorky explanation. couldn't think of an easier way to explain it)

there is something you could try, though

  • (if you have cs3)

open your document and hit ctrl + alt + i

then type in your new dimensions

after that you select "bicubic smoother" from the dropdown menu.

this will only work for minimal enlargement, though.

other than that, I would say using a good quality large image to begin with would be the best solution.

    I hope this helps.

  • Must be Photoshop/ImageReady CS3? Can also CS2?

  • the version I'm using in my tutorials here is Photoshop CS3, but I also had Photoshop CS. In CS the option isn't available as it is in CS3, though it does have a resizing option.

I'm really not sure about CS2, though. I'm sorry. I haven't worked with CS2 yet.

  • It work well on CS2, but no different, getting the same result.

But thanks anyway, I trying to get more ways to do.

  • ok^^

thanks a lot for the feedback. sorry it didn't work out.

  • hi i dont heare the heoght resolution weight(all that things ) can you write taht pls i need xP pls ^^

  • sorry. I didn't quite understand your request, I have to admit.

if you are looking for the written tutorial, you can find a link to it in the description. it's the second one.

    hope this helps^^

  • u got a email address???

  • I don't know anyone who doesn't. why are you asking?

  • hmmmm....wateva i jus wanted to know to chat cause this tuturial was real amazin i was woderin if ya coulda help ma that all

  • i download the cs3 but the filters are incomplete do u know where can i download it ????????

  • hmm. that's odd. which filters are missing?

there are some like the "3d render" filters, which can be found on photoshop's bonus cd.

if you're looking for the "liquefy filter" you will not find it in the "filter gallery", but in a category of its own in menu -> filter.

    I hope that helps^^

  • Very nice tutorial ^_^ I picked up a good deal from it, and hopefully I can remember enough to put it to good use =D

  • Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it a lot. =D

  • woah that was quite awesome and understandable even for a beginner like me =P thanks! i was doing a pause-photoshop-play againg every time. very thankful ^^

  • you're welcome!

thanks for the comment and the compliment! I'm glad you enjoyed it and could follow easily. =D

  • pure talent you have there.awesome

  • *blushes* why thank you!

that was a kind thing to say.

  • I like it very much , thank you

  • glad you do^^

  • woot! thanks a lot for your comment! I'm glad you like the tutorial, and I hope you'll have fun using filters from now on^^

  • Aww man! It was coming out great! I lost you here and there, but I had the drift of it...and then I used a smudge that was too big...then...the program froze!! Anyways, it was amazing. I'll try again some other time. Thanks!

  • och! what a shame! sorry to hear that. it's really annoying when that happens, especially if one is working on a bigger project. that happened to me a couple of times before, so I started saving things as psd files more regularly. no probs ever since then^^

glad you like it! I hope things will work out again for you next time =D

  • I love the result. I haven't tried your tutorial yet, but I will soon. It seems pretty straight forward for someone who has some background. I'll let you know how I do. Hopefully well, lol.

  • thank you very much for your kind words! I hope things turn out well for you^^

  • Some impressive results there - might give them a go myself.

    Cheers

  • thank you very much! =D

I hope you'll have fun trying that.

  • you speak too fast to fallow... I'm lost..but the result looks really cool..

  • sorry about that. this was the first video I ever made, and I was really nervous, hehe.

I'm glad you like the result all the same.

If you like, you can drop a comment at the community and I'll try to clarify things for you.

Just follow the link in the description^^

  • love your voice(very sexy):P:P:P...btw very immpresive result...good job

  • *blushes* thank you very much. =D

  • Oh men i'm not very good with the english and you talk very fast x'D

  • Oops that was my brother account x'D :P

  • sorry about that. =)

  • great tutorial, who knew such an advanced looking outcome could be fairly easy (well now that you've taught us what to do ;p)

i'll definitely use some tricks i picked up in this vid later. Thanks!

  • thanks for the compliment! =D

I'm pleased to hear that you found it useful.

  • excellent tutorial

  • thanks for the compliment. glad you liked it. ;)

  • pace was perfect :)

as the title says ... "non beginners", so ye be warned ;)

imu say thank you, very helpfull!

  • *joy* thanks to you as well. =D

glad you think it was helpful.

  • too fast!

  • *grins* sorry about that. maybe you'll find it easier to follow if you hit pause every now and then... if you can be bothered to do so, that is.

if I hadn't clipped the speed and cut things out, the tutorial would have ended up lasting nearly an hour. a slow pace, yes. but very tiring. =P

  • its a good tutorial :) i like it

  • thank you very much. glad to hear you do. =D

  • Nice tutorial. Please visit our community.

    Look at:

    My-Tutorial dot com

  • thanks for the hint. I'll check it out soon.

  • Very nice :) I really liked the fast pace.

  • lol. then you're one of the few exceptions who do. =D

    thanks for your comment ^^

  • thanks...thanks to u

  • thanks for the comment! =D

  • Nice tutorial, pretty helpful. You may want to choose your words some though, for more of a new user-friendly feel.

    And, I like your voice.

  • hahhaha. yeah. that was my first time trying to make a video tutorial, and I didn't record voice and screen simultaneously. it's very repetitive ("random/ness/etc") and I stumbled over every other word.

I'm glad you still liked it, though. I'll make use of your tips in order to improve. thank you very much!

  • Thank you! I've been willing to figure out how do people make those. Now I know, thanks for taking your time and making the tut!

  • Always welcome. =D

  • good for you. Not everyone requires webcam-slut dating, nor is everyone fond of spam.

  • Wow, that was great!! Please make more tutorials.. this one helped me discover many effects.. thank you!

  • *grins* thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it. I'm currently thinking about new tutorials, but I can't seem to come up with something useful that hasn't been posted at youtube already. =P

  • do it like that

    youtube(Dot)com

  • or else. =P

  • thank you 4 this posting, your instructions are very useful i didn't had any problems at all :D

  • ;)

glad you liked it! and thanks for your feedback as well! it's always helpful to hear peoples' opinions.

  • dude that effect is totaly sweet:D

    have to trye it out

  • thanks! glad you like it. =D

  • now I tried hmm not as sweet as yours but I still like it:P wanna see?

  • definitely! I'd love to. =D

  • can I have your msn then? you can send it to my profile on youtube

  • oh thanks very much for this. I may have done something wrong i seem to have everything done except i cant colorize the layers at all. it just wont let me

  • a few steps that might help:

make sure the colorize button is checked

maybe try to slide the 'lightness' bar left or right

same goes for the 'saturation' bar.

If that doesn't help, please let me know. =D

  • wait i got it i found the drop down box lol my bad Great Tutorial!!!

  • yay me! thanks! =D

but it's also my bad. some parts of my screen don't even show up in the recording. dunno why, though.

here's a screen shot. just in case.

youtube won't let me send a link here, but I'll add it in the video description just in case you (or someone else) might need it.

    and thanks for the comment!

    I hope things work out

  • how do you bring up the brush tools palette everything in your tutorial was great until i reached that mayeb im just noob as

  • i got cs3 extended now too, dunno this thing (this is my first time that i use it, before Macromedia firefox) ^^

    But this is cool xD

  • Thank you very much for the compliment! I hope the tutorial will come in handy. (though I think that it might seem a little difficult for someone who doesn't know the older ps versions.) If you need any help or so, feel free to give me a shout. ^.^

  • I was just randomly passing and had no idea what photoshop could do (or even any interest in it - I'd just seen a 'this is how many layers a vector graphics image took' video and wondered what they were) and ended up watching that in fascination, despite first thinking 'oh god, I didn't care enough to watch 9 minutes of this...'

    That was great!

  • wow! That's a great compliment. Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it. =D

  • 1337

  • lol.

    how kind!

    thank you. =D

  • is this photoshop cs3 extended? :P

  • yep.

    =P

  • Very nice! I wish my comp art teacher gave a lesson like yours...She was very new to the photoshop we used at the time and, therefore her lesson plans were very much of the mundane variety. Even though I use a different version of it, your tutorial has inspired me to try something I've been afraid to do:use filter tools.

  • thank you very much!!!

I'm glad you liked the tutorial. (though I have to admit that I'm relatively new to photoshop myself.)

I have several other tutorials around, unfortunately none of them (yet) in video format. but if you'd like to check them out, I could give you a link.

I'm glad I could be of service. ;)

  • oh. and btw. I just saw that you subscribed to me.

very nice of you! thanks a lot. *feels honored*
