I don't know if you had a job when you were young, but I ask you to consider the potential benefits that this could offer to kids. When you are being paid to do something, and you know that you have to do your best or your boss will get someone else and you will lose your source of income, you learn to have a good work ethic. I think work is good for kids.
It should be jobs assigned & commensurate pay based on skillset.
If a person is capable, their pay increases rapidly. The FREE MARKET will put wages where they truly belong, instead of govt. mandate skewing the equation.

@jclaunch00 I somewhat agree and somewhat disagree. I believe American exceptionalism and the fact that America is the world's superpower gives America the right to police the world. However, I don't think that is necessarily a wise thing to do, and in today's times it certainly isn't. It would behoove us more to stay home, bring down the deficits and debts, and become more significantly more selective about what conflicts we get involved in.

@bradlom80 I had work when I was young. It was legal because my parents, for whom I was working, were in the agriculture business. I don't know if you had a job when you were young, but I ask you to consider the potential benefits that this could offer to kids. When you are being paid to do something, and you know that you have to do your best or your boss will get someone else and you will lose your source of income, you learn to have a good work ethic. I think work is good for kids.

Age should not matter.
It should be jobs assigned & commensurate pay based on skillset.
If a person is capable, their pay increases rapidly. The FREE MARKET will put wages where they truly belong, instead of govt. mandate skewing the equation.
That is another reason why Minimum Wage laws should be repealed. All it does is cause employers to NOT hire, because they cannot afford it in some cases.
Employers / Employees / Clients ALL lose out and no one gets what they need.
