Actually, Scientology was a lot of fun in the early days and then got progressively paranoid and suppressive, especially in the 80's and on.
I know one auditor who was banished by his group because he scratched his ear (once) while he was auditing someone. Similar to what happened to Oliver Twist when he asked for more mush!!!

It's not about hate or making other people hate, its about raising awareness of a dangerous, money hungry cult. I understand that, but it just feels like they're not doing just THAT... lol, I'd rather not cause an argument, but it seems like more of a biased kind of issue usually with protesters. If I came up to a protester and asked why they were protesting, and they unbiasedly told me what was wrong with it, then I'd respect that... but now adays, all I hear is "this is a cult!" or "they're going to hell for what they're doing!" etc.

Also, it was perfect that you had a copy of the local laws and seemed as if you had corresponded ahead of time with the city's attorney to make certain you knew what your rights were ahead of time. Actually, we had copies of the state statutes and a letter from the city attorney on hand because in March, one of us was arrested for wearing a mask (cop followed outdated law), and we were harassed last month by cops who were then "reeducated" by the city attorney on what the law really said. Perfectly legal to wear masks during a protest, as long as you're not committing a crime.
