  • I gigged in Fort McMurray years ago. It was the most depressing town I saw in all of Alberta. Half of the customers in the club were ugly-ass eskimos. It was worse than Drayton Valley, if that's possible.

  • Backwards values and a lack of ethics.

  • don't go there it's a waste of time. Went there for 3 months and couldnt wait to get the fuck out. not only did it waste 3 months of my life, I left with some fucked up things in my head.

  • Why is the real money leaving Canada! All Foreign Companies should get the fuck out and we should nationalize. If we are going to rape our land we should get the money made, not just the scraps.

  • Does anyone from the UK know anything about this industry or has anyone from the UK ever worked in the oil sands industry? if so i would appreciate any advice/feedback. Just pm me.

  • Peoples values are messed up.

  • a friend of mine from my high school went to work up in fort mac...two months later he was dead. Overdosed on blow on a night off.

  • I love Alberta, it is a land of beauty, nice people and a great amount of resources. I am so happy Alberta is part of Canada. Woot

  • It's funny they have to say:

    Alberta ...........Canada

If any American doesn't know where Alberta is, they should be sent to the retard farm.

Alberta is more important to the US than 90% of it's own states.

    F*** you america

  • @noftchks1 retard farm..u r being 2 nice..

  • @noftchks1 Fuck you Albertan asshole. You're the shame of this country, the worst polluters. I hope Alberta will be involved one day in a huge catastrophic economic collapse and every of you will get a slap in the face. You are a shitty and filthy population where's the only interest is to ruin the environment, delocate Natives, and speeding more and more rare illnesses and cancers. If the Dec. 21 2012 stuff would have to really happen, I really hope it will and all of your will sit on the tits

  • @noftchks1 What are you, 14? Silly fag.

  • Comment removed

  • I call it Fort Mcmuffin'

  • Whats with this bullshit? Fort Crack has to the the worst, most miserable place I've ever been. I've never seen or met up with one single friendly person in Fort Mcmurray in my 4 month waste of life there. Pollution is plenty, hookers, crime fill the streets. A very dangerous place for decent families and their kids. Greedy town where people think they can do to make some quick cash when results to nothing more than a rip off due to extremely high house prices and SEVERE lack of service.

  • @redspecial27 : I personally disaggree. I love this place, (not a perfect place I know.) everyone i meet is amazing, the recreational infrastructures are amazing and cheap (50$ a month for mac island). Great mma gym in 2 locations. But i guess negative people has premade opinions.

  • @paulcarpentier96 a bunch of crap again.. i left BC with a good attitude and came into ft mac with a very positive attitude and left with a VERY negative attitude and VERY depressed.

  • @redspecial27 , I`ll respect your opinion and i'll still disagree. I`ve been here 2 years,, so far so good. (even bought a house). Sorry things didn`t work out for you out here.

  • @paulcarpentier96 Again a bunch of crap. I left BC in september with a very positive attitude for this place, and when I left in December I had a VERY strong negative attitude towards it. it is a dream crushing, soul destroying town that smells like shit with nothing to do. It was the most depressing days of my life and certainly 3 months of my life I'd love to have back.

  • @redspecial27 Then it goes to -52 celsius

  • Anyone who works on the oil industry are losers that are the prime movers of the poison that will surely kill us all. Shame on you people. You sold life out.

  • @TheSolarmike Fuck off asshole. Who the hell do you think is running the economy? Us dipshit, so you can go shove your greenpeace-treehugger bullshit up your ass.

  • @Dara6344 Fort Mcmurray, Alberta lol Canada is a big place

  • @TheSolarmike a jobs a job you fuckin hippy

    go hug some trees,

    do u drive a car?

i dont even work there and i need the world revolves around oil

its the worlds blood, were slowly draining it, buh its a transfusion u can say to help the PPL of the world get threw days

what could you possibly do with out certain types of oil on your daily bases

  • @TheSolarmike Think about what you just said there. Why does anyone work in the oil industry? Because there is a demand for oil. Who is demanding it? YOU. If there was no demand there would be no oil industry. The workers are only there because of the demand. Demand comes first and then supply. The only reason I have a job as a PetrE is because of the demand for oil. Which comes from you. Your car, your house, your food, everything you own that you didn't produce yourself.

  • @TheSolarmike So unless you live in a straw house heated by fire, walk everywhere, only eat food you've grown for yourself, and only wear clothes you made for yourself, you are nothing but a not so intelligent hypocritical hippie. You preach and preach but at the end of the day you consume oil like mad, like everyone else. We live in an industrialized society, oil is our blood. Don't like it? Get off of your oil made computer and fuck off to Ethiopia.

  • @TheSolarmike Your welcome for your oil you stinky hippy bastard

  • Cancer? Years off your life?

What are you talking about? Resulting from the worksites or just the exhaust during the traffic jams? I can handle traffic jams, I live in Toronto so no big deal.

  • Hahahah more like fort crack

  • It's probably too late now ,for a young guy like me to get in on the boom in Fort McMurray. Housing prices are ridiculous, but what about all that oil they discovered off the shore of Newfoundland and Labrador? Is there a chance for another oil boom to happen there?

  • @infobulb: do you have links on where I can apply in fort mc? I dont mind hard labor as long as its good money. I work my ass off here in edmonton and for what $12/hr. I agree ith that jesse brether guy.

  • ali velshi is from canada

  • I am from Macedonia(european country),29 years old and have no experience in the oil industry, but I have experience in the Army and Police forces. Is there any chanses for me to work in Canada in the oil industry in the entry level jobs?If yes,can somebody send me a contact that promises?

  • I think you could get into security. I have a friend who got in with a security firm for $16 an hour and they owned the house he lived in. He paid cheap rent and had no prior experience. But I think he got homesick and started getting fucked up all the time at work.@hanaimer

  • You think working in a shithole for $120,000/yr is worth it ? Money is not everything. Not worth taking many years off your life. What! just so you can drive a big truck and spend it on hookers and blow.

When you die you won't be taking it with you.

  • @howie3147 so you might as well enjoy it while you can.

  • @howie3147 Yeah because thats what everyone in the oil industry spends their money on.. hookers and blow. Fuck off you ignorant pig, don't be envious because you couldn't make it .

  • @tool235 Who the fuck are you?

Yeah ya tool, I'm so envious that I couldn't make it there. Idiot.

  • @howie3147 Who the fuck are you to say "drive a big truck and spend your money on hookers and blow" . You're stupid and ignorant, many people bust their ass off in the oil patch, and live and create a very bright future for themselves and their family because of the opportunity available in the industry. I don't even live in Fort Mac. Grow up

  • @tool235 You know as well as I do, I'm at least 50% right. I can say whatever I want about 'big trucks, hookers and blow'. What the fuck are you gonna do about it. And who cares where u live? Now piss off cunt!

  • @howie3147 50% huh? Where did that number come from ? Retard

  • ive worked in fort saskatchewan, alberta! It sucked , have fun with your cancer filled family!!! Get out with your money and move somewhere much much cleaner!!!

  • gore better get his ass over to iceland to put an end to the carbon coming from Eyjafjallajokull volcano.

  • Oil sands are not oil. You use just as much energy from natural gas let alone the oil used to power the huge machines just to turn the tar sands into very low grade dirty crude. Oil sands are very energy inefficient and will never produce more than a few million barrels a day.

  • to robert cree, you have no DIRECT evidence that the oil sands is cause sicknesses and RARE diseases.

  • It's a shame to see, how greed destroys the enviroment.

  • @tubeman2006 It's not destroying the enviroment the oil sands are huge and have almost always been there and only a VERY VERY small of that percentage is developed.

  • @tubeman2006 From the majority of the comments I've read here I'd extend your comment to say that greed not only destroys the environment but it also destroys people, communities and culture. It's sad to see such concentrated hatred and contempt as there is here. I don't say this because I'm envious, like some people here suggest; that's just their self-justification and says more about them than me. Instead, I worry about our shared future when such selfishness, aggression and denial exists.

  • I'm a journey men welder with one of the sites I work 600 to 700 hrs of ot a year

  • Money is good I'm 29 I made 240 000 last year it looks after my family for sure and if you don't like it fuck off fuck you pieces of shit never been here and talk shit about this place you don't know fuck all

  • money is good up here no doubt and some folks are just plain envious. by the way...what do you do up here? i mean like occupation wise?

  • @infobulb His name is Steve and he works on site.

  • @trevor198021

Talk about a mature way to defend your likely environmentally destructive employer. Fucking goof.

  • @trevor198021 Doing what job guy?

  • @trevor198021 that maybe true. but by the looks of it. Fort Mc has messed up your values. Just read your statement here. Do you think saying fuck you fuck fuck will get you any respect? no way. By the way, how long do you think your body's gonna last working there? :) Ill see you in the emergency department! We get a lot of you "rich" guys here almost every day for reasons such as overdose of drugs or substance abuse, trauma, and debilitating diseases.

  • @DelRosario185 everyone dies bud. Only thing you can be sure of in your life, is death.

  • @cricketii a slow and painful death is not the ideal way to go though...

  • @trevor198021 Can I ask what you do up there? I am looking to go up and be a heavy equipment operator in the fall. Lucky I know somebody at Suncor!

  • not jealous of the shithole your working in

  • I hope all you greedy bastards lose everything

  • @19burrows87 jealous much...

  • its so sad to see that greed is ruining the environment completely in ft mcmoney...the root of all evil which is causing humanity's downfall

  • screw you I'm from fort MCmoney

  • @19burrows87 its fort mcmurray.....just move here already
