if you have a koi in your fish tank, be prepared to suddenly have all your other smaller fish dissapear and the koi become drastically larger one day.
BEAUTIFUL selection of koi, but I just have a question and I've beenwondering, what kind of koi is that butterfly koi that's in the left corner at 0:14 in the video? thank you so much for your time. and again, beautiful koi, oh and how old are your koi?
according to fishbase you can have koi in an aquarium, although not recommended, but you need an aquarium 2 meters long.
I have one koi (10months old) in an aquarium, but my aquarium only has one meter in length. And I dont know what to do, when he grows up... he is too strong for the aquarium, he removes some plants, and is still a juvenile...
koi easily outgrows you tank, and fast... this is my third aquarium... and for a juvenile koi. for a juvenile 1 meter long tank is very good, and i know he is very happy in there with his shubunkin girlfriend.
Thats a good idea, keeping the koi in a tank during the winter i never thought people did that. I have about 14 koi outside in a pond and have a vision 260 inside holding tropical, i should have kept the tank for koi as a place 4 winter and not have tropical. Do u feed them all year round then.
come on people shut the hell up, I am a proud owner of 84 koi with 26 in one pond and 54 in another and 4 in a 120 gallon tank and the ones in my tank are aprox 42 cm and the oldest is 31 (my dads koi who he passed on to me) so really koi are perfectly fine in tanks. People in New England keep most of there pond koi in tanks for the winter.
I have a 180 gallon tank wit a Blood parrot cichid, 5 Angelfish, 3 Cories, along with 3 badass koi I ain't puttin anymore fish in there cuz koi grow sooo HUGE!!! XD
oh, dear god, please just google "fish care". just the fact that you're asking whether or not you need a filter is setting of warning sirens in my brain. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY TYPE OF FISH UNTIL YOUR ARE THOROUGHLY INFORMED ON THEIR CARE AND MAINTENANCE!!!
how long does it take for a koi to grow big in a 1 meter tank?

orellanaomar 2 years ago
nice. what filter and media do you use, and how often do you change the water & media?
zwcheuk 2 years ago
u need a bigger tank, one koi by itself needs 250 gallons to live a long and healthy life. so if u really love koi get a bigger tank or let them go.

Yes, thanks for comment, I feed them year around but not too many food, if over food, tank filter can not handle it...

If your pond is deep enough there is no need to bring them inside
