I have never had the pleasure of seeing this on broadway, but have seen the movie countless time, and I can't imagine anyone else playing Roger, but this girl blew Rosario out of the water in my opinion. Loved the way she stressed the "give in to love or live in fear" line. Favourite line out of the movie, by far. I hope one day I get to see this performed live.

I saw Rent June 2008 with my dad on Father's Day. He hadn't seen the movie b4 this and he understood everything that went on in the play (a lot of people I know said they didn't understand the play until they saw the movie). He LOVED it! And so did I. Tamyra was AMAZING that day. I'm glad I got to see the play b4 it closed.

Actually, the reason they're called "original" is because they were the first. Later casts actually have a HIGHER likelihood of playing the characters better because they've had a chance to see what does and doesn't work. For that matter, they didn't even have the cast they wanted, originally, as Jon wanted Karmine Alers to play Mimi, but she wasn't available, and they had to settle for Daphne. If you think no one could be better than the original cast... you're a moron.
