    This uses Cryengine 3 ?

  • That little thing started a movement. Oh and the original idea for videogames was thought up in 1946, just so people know.

  • Preorderd it right now.

  • We can't see where we hit the ball.

  • better than mw3

  • Release date? I need to pre-order this.

  • @TheWavy87 It came out 1958.

  • 1958 is when fat people started happening

  • how is the first video game ever have better graphics then the Atari.....

  • @lee0495 It was completely analog, no pixels

  • @lee0495 I think it´s because this here is an oscilloscope. No clumsy raster graphics :)

  • that game is better than MW3! (this comment will be thumbs down)

  • damn,...those graphics.....

  • So pros.

  • Better than nintendo wii, for sure.

  • this is better than most tennis flash games!i love the blue lines

  • this kinda looks modern

  • when cod mw3 will be on it

  • Ready Player One!

  • to be honest, this may sound wierd, but that actually looks kinda fun. don;t ask why, it just does.

  • @rlopen10 No shit?

  • Really crappy. How would anyone learn to be able play this s***?

  • @bocaj5509 You do know that this was made in 1958, right ?

  • @bocaj5509 Are you one of those people who expect almost 50 year old games to be as advanced as XBox 360?

  • better than battlefield

  • @plants305 no. Only better than cod. BF is still the best. U mad now cod fanboy?

  • @Sleetjuh wanna go into details asshole? im really prefer halo multiplayer over anything. but if i had to pick one, it'd totally be cod. but i'm not trolling

  • I'm impressed by the fact it actually uses legitimate physics, some games today don't have that

  • @MrTarheel2147 NFS games you mean? Or the Ridge Racer series?

  • beautiful the birth of the nerd

  • DAMN! I can't WAIT for tennis for two to come out. Think about all the fun I'll have. I'll spend 30'000 dollers for the computer, I'll need everyone in town to help me lug thr fucking thing in my house, and I'll need a 3,293,293,320 page booklet for me to turn the fucker on.

  • @BLUEICE542 you masturbate to gay porn

  • OMG left side is imba.

  • Where can i download this?

  • Screw all my X-BOX playing friends! This rocks more than SMB!

  • this game rules. when does it come out???

  • @AntiFeminaziMale it was the first video game ever

  • @AntiFeminaziMale in one year in 1960's probably

  • @AntiFeminaziMale UUUUH it came out 1958 .

  • @AntiFeminaziMale I think you missed the release date! It came out in 1958. XD

  • I'll re-write this in c++ :D

  • @merenvagyokakacsa Do it ;-)

  • well it's better than bf3

  • Sure, no graphics - but the accuracy of ball physics kick any current game's ass.

  • @noizereduction Actually, in its own way it has graphics... specially considering oscilloscopes can only draw lines really.

  • This is so cool, the interesting thing is that all though the graphics dosent exist the physics is actually way better then in later games. I mean not even Atari tennis had physics. Not until Nes did physics come into the gameplay. This looks really fun. Wish i had old radar equipment to play around with.

  • Thank god I wasn't born in the 40's!

  • i dont get it

  • No, OXO is the first video game.

  • An analog video game. Cool. At least it appears to be analog.

  • *ahem*.................what.

  • Da.....da fuck?

  • Good

  • @Umma6umma this not a video game because the Cathode ray tube used is not TV/video compatible (built to be used as analog oscilloscope). No other reasons.

@MrCrossForce the Magnavox Odyssey has no processor, no chips, is an endless game, because there are no points, no score: this is not a programme but the Odyssey is still a videogame. The first Atari Pong demo used at Sears headquarters had no circuitry at all.

  • ow man

i didnt know videogames could be this boring

  • @MrCrossForce in fact, this is not a real videogame, because it has not even a circuit, it's just an oscillator/spectrometer thingy which uses magnets to move the light on the monitor. a proof of it is that this is an endless game, because there are no points, no score: this is not a programme, so it is not a videogame.

  • @Alaska1925 im happy to know that this is not a videogame

cuz it sucks like hell :P

  • @MrCrossForce yeah, I just read some info about it: it a sort of cathode tube in which an electron flux is controlled by people using knobs and buttons: there's no circuit, processors, chips or whatever videogames are made of. so, THIS IS NOT A VIDEOGAME!!! >:)

  • @Alaska1925

tho this isnt an official video game it is regarded as such, its not as sophisticated as what u would call a video game now, infact video games didnt even exist back then, so this is the closest thing to it, its like calling the 1st ever wheel made by man not a wheel cause it was made by stone while wheels now have rubber and intricate metals and such in them

  • @lylatfox4 some people consider this the first video game, some not. there are several different opinions; mine is that this is not a video game, it's just A GAME, because there is no video, simply. for me a video game needs to be played on a screen, and (if possible) to have internal processors. this thing didn't have built-in processors, but that's not the main problem: the problem is that this is only a cathode tube with some knobs controlling the ray position! so, for me, it is just a game.

  • @MrCrossForce

well this is literally the very 1st thing designed for electronic pleasure, this was before even pong, so ofc it doesnt look as good as compared to something like the zelda wiiU tech demo shown at E3

  • @MrCrossForce It was from 1958, noob. What do you expect?

  • @MrCrossForce <-- Ladies and gentlemen, console kiddies.

  • That actually looks kind of fun.

  • @tehogglapus It was made by a physicist.

  • I want this on wiiware

  • this game is coming out in a couple of months

i hear if you preorder this and the new battletoads gamestop gives you a 10$ gift card free

  • does this come with a remote controlled car?

  • I can't wait to get this when it comes out.

  • Comment removed

  • i dont understand this. what are youc ontrolling? it just looks like the "ball" is aimlessly not being controlled by anything

  • @Falcondick69 Up until the late 80's you really had to have alot of imagination when playing games, imagining things being there when they were not. Or imagining a scary monster or whatever out of just a pixel or two. Today we don't have to imagine so much more as we did before, as the graphics does it all for us.

  • the game of the FUTURE

  • this guy is good at quick scoping

  • what does a bootylicious workout have to do with the first video game ever? thats what keeps on coming up on the side.

  • that sound is turning me on!

  • At least it looks better than call of duty

  • @ByabyaChannel much better

  • @ByabyaChannel dude, shut up

  • Looks like Avatar

  • i played space wars once reply if you want to know why

  • A.S. Douglas designed the OXO game in 1952. Tennis for Two is the second game ever.

  • @furQ the OXO aint got shit on the Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device! 1947!!

  • Now watch videos for the new Mw3. wow we have come a long ways

  • @GTBubbaliciousGum in graphics you mean, right? Cause i don't see how MW3 represents some new innovation in gameplay, sound, controls, etc.

  • What about Naughts and Crosses and the Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device?

  • This looks better than Call of Duty

  • @nazeres1: without these kind of inventions, that fancy game of yours would not exist today :P

  • @edzzzwin But I hate call of duty...

  • Pure Genius

  • for the 50's those graphics are amazing i've seen ds games with worse graphics than this

  • its so cool how massive video games like today exist because of this little thing. :)

  • Nice sound effects.

  • Interestingly, this game was brought up in a lawsuit between Nintendo and Magnavox during the 1980s, when Magnavox (the creator of the first home console Oddysey) had made $100 million just from royalties paid by all console manufacturers up until then. Nintendo attempted to invalidate the Magnavox patent by pointing to Tennis For Two as the first video game, but the court ruled that Tennis For Two was not a video game because it apparently didn't use video signals, so Nintendo lost the case...

  • I thought the first videogame was Space War

  • @superearthbender

Spacewar was from 1962. Tennis For Two was from 1958, four years before it.

  • Actually the first video game ever made was by A.S. Douglas who created OXO 1952.

It ran on an EDSAC computer that used punch-cards. The reason Tennis for Two is commonly mentioned (especially in my college as a history lesson) is because OXO was heavily overlooked due to not a lot of people having access to the EDSAC computer, while Tennis for Two was more shown to the public.

Tennis for Two was created by Willy Higinbotham in 1958 during the study of artificial intelligence.

  • 12 years before pong much cooler too!

  • watch it in 1911 mode to increase the "dated" feel!

  • oh i'm picking something up on the radar.. wait it was just me SCHOOLIN your ass! lol

  • Way better than Pong, and much more deserving of credit.

  • That game looks more enjoyable than some games out now, like Call of Duty: Black Ops or Halo: Reach.

  • @theyonecessito TROLLLLLL

  • @Beatlerock4 It does.

  • There were no LEDs in 1958. So what are they doing in this "reproduced version"?

  • @LogicDeLuxe It was made using an oscilloscope.

  • The first video game ever was made in 1947 and the machine was called the Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device

  • Congratulations on the reconstruction. A truly impressive feat... being used to digital, thinking about how this works boggles my mind XD

  • isso é jogo de Tênis? num entendi =p

  • Impressive all started there, and today the guys play with Kinect, in 50 years one large

evoluição, and everything has to evolve further.

  • It's...so beautiful...

  • Without this, no Bad company 2.

  • The first was the snappily named "cathode ray tube amusement device" in 1948 there were a few simple ones such as a chess paying program and a noughts and crosses game before this one.

  • Oh this game is soooo cool when it comes out of the xbox 720 for $56!

  • Wow, this makes NINTENDO's graphics look good!

  • @Garavendia nintendo's graphics ARE good.

unless you're talking about nes or gameboy.

they were good for their time and still... okay

    for now.

  • Actually, the first device to introduce the concept of controlling virtual images on a screen was the Cathode-Ray Tube Amusement Device back in 1948.

  • PS4

  • Wow, very neat! Looks more advanced than the stuff that came out decades later. I'm guessing you have to keep score yourself?

  • nope, the first videogame was a missile simulator always on a cathode ray tube

  • lololo call of duty 6 is betta lolo

  • DAT CELL SHADIN'

  • This guy is my hero.

  • amazing sound fx!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=fso8tpdbIxs very nice!!!!!!!!!! excelent!

  • Is it me or does that look more advanced than pong. lol.

  • @thegiantmike

Yeah, I'm surprised we haven't seen this until now. In fact, it seems like it was a very long time after pong that we saw anything with physics as good as this.

  • @thegiantmike Yeah totally. The fact it actually has realistic physics is impressive as hell.

  • @thegiantmike Of course ;D

  • @thegiantmike actually, it is not. pong was waaaaaaaaay more advanced, believe me >_>

  • Has better graphics than the 1980's super mario....

  • listen to the blg mechanical clanking when they press buttons

  • slick!

  • OMG :)) THIs SHOULD APPEAR ON Discovery .

  • @alexfronea

It was on Discovery. There was a show about history of video games :))

  • awesome, are you the owner yourself? in that case consider yourself lucky!

  • And there was something even older/ it was just a means of screwing around with a TV tube, but it was a game.

  • Tennis for two is considered a Digital game, not a videogame.

  • The most epic game ever made, PERIOD.

  • Even though this game is cooler this isnt actually the first video game. The first video game was called "OXO" made in 1952.

  • I've a book which made it clear(if I understand it correct) "space wars" is 1st computer game ever.

  • they should put this on a plug and play

  • No, the first game in the world was the Cathode-Ray Amusement Tube Device

It was based on the radar system of WW2 submarines.

  • the verry first was space wars look it up
