  • would i be able to link a one of my vids to this vid, i basically talk about the octopus card and its uses. please ill credit you and everything!

  • Can't understand what they want to tell peiople about the benefit of Octopus Card.

  • @ienjoyverymuch they are showing you all the places that you can use an octopus card.

  • The best thing ever. If Sydney something close to this, we're be over the moon! Our T-Card (transport smartcard) if delivered as promised in 2-3 years time from now. 10 years after it's been talked about, but no action.

  • @Phil28168

HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE IT IN 2012!!!!

SORRY FOR THE CAPITAL LETERS THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY KEYBOARD

  • I like this artclip, represents the HK's lifestyle.

Everything must be quick and easy. This clip shows clearly how HK people live. Compliments to your work Mister R. Gelles.

BTW I like your brand name! Read your name on the chinese way =p from left to right.

I heard that a Dutch invented this system a time ago but sold this idea to HK. He thought that this system won't work in the Netherlands. Now the Netherlands use this system =p. Still is the octopus card the best system ever!

  • Thank you for the kind comments. Glad you enjoyed the video!

  • One big reason why Octopus card is so success in Hong Kong is because the government and all transportation companies forced to introduce the system. When everyone needs to use public transportation every day, it can be easier to spread out the usage gradually.

  • beggars/street performers also accept octopus cards now!!!

  • lol funny

  • I understand where the goal post is but I don't see this film reaching. I enjoyed it, but felt it was loosely illustrated. At times, it actually seemed as if it was glorifying the flexibility of the octopus cards convenience and chic.

  • I dont know if anybody knows this, but the United Kingdom started Octopus Card simply as an expiriment for their Oyster Card, they wanted to test it out on HK first

  • You are full of shit. The Octopus card was developed by ERG Systems - an Australian company and it was first deployed in 1987 on the Hong Kong - Canton Railway.

  • my bad....

  • LOL - Apologies for my reaction, but it is presently a real sore point for me. I simply can not understand why Sydney can not have a system as good as Hong Kong - when we developed it - more than 20 years ago! Seems that we can deploy this technology all around the world, but not in our own back yard! :-(

  • I wuz actually born in Brisbane... But i havent been there in the longest time. :'(

  • Don't feel to bad brother! Our government/transportationcompany's are introducing the 'OV-chipkaart' (english: PT-chipcard) to replace an 'older' (but much easier and safer system!) The whole system is full of shit, people don't want it, most of the transportation-personnel don't want it either.

Incorrect payments, complete ridiculouos transactions (because of messed-up system) like paying 4 euro's for a trip where you normally pay 1 euro. Hoping for the same measure as at your country: STOP

  • see hong kong uses octopus cards for munny just scan it its like visa pay and go but octopuss cards u use anywere ANYWERE pop machines train staition to cool to be true

  • nice video, man. i did the layout for this project when i was working on Architrave 13... but i didn't realize the images you gave us were stills from a video. i hope you were happy with how it transferred to the printed page.

    paul

  • whilst i am writing this comment... i am suffering from a severe state of sezuire

  • Actually, I thought this was pretty cool. Shows how Octopus can be used in so many ways and basically is an integral part of HK.

  • awesumn ^^

  • what a waste of time... this is crap

  • I can't see it illustrate the effects of the octopus card. Actually, it just flashing with some brand in hk with no meaning.

  • For me, a Hong Kong native, I use it about 10 years. But i haven't any problem in my ears :)

  • Repetitive, hurts your ears, flashing, fast...but I like it for some reason.
