sure i took a look at a volvo recently - leased one and drove the XC60 when we first had kids back in 2002 - drove the S80 recently and the car hasnt changed - while they can talk about the safety features, Volvo's have no driving personality at all and the interior features are as boring as you will ever find - but hey at least the price point is low enough for other people to consider -

i have a 2008 bmw 750li,2007 range rover supercharged, 2010 escalade platinum, an 2010 audi a8 and none of them come anywhere near this car except the bmw and range rover but it dosent cost alot , its nice, and its fuel economy is awsome

I just love Volvo. Some say they look bland. I agree but when you think about it, it's safe, spacious, and not so expensive. I think of a Volvo as so elegant it doesn't need all those curves and fierce-looking lights to be beautiful. Bland is the new bold!

JD Power has Volvo has rank as THE most reliable brand sold in Germany ahead of all the German and Japanese brands. UNLIKE Audi/VW Volvo builds engine that don't fly apart by 100K miles. The 3.6 Liter VAG engine is notoriously unreliable and VAG V8 have timing chains that often stretch beyond spec or flat out fail by 100K miles. No wonder you can by used A8 and A6s so damn cheap!

To all the people here saying Audi and other german cars are better than this. I really think you should look and drive both the A6 and this. Ive driven ALOT of cars, alot of german cars and more or less every volvo ever built and I can honestly say with the hand on my heart that Id rather have an S80 over any Audi. There is no car in the world that can compare to the buildquality and attention to detail as the newer volvos

@Lillie1986 well said i totally agree although i do need VOLVO need to restyle the S80 to look more similaer to the S60 and the new design diection VOLVO have taken, and it would be amazing, personally I love the V70 best estate in its class.....proper alternative to the germans....yes Audi's new A6 avant is stunning and yes it has a gorgeous interior but its not as relaxing, luxorious, or simplistic in its layout or as comfortable as V70, 5 series touring UGLY MF, E Class estate BORING....

@Lillie1986 am sure u haven't driven the new audi....volvo lacks lot of tech....they are just pos cars.....volovo might have won or tied the competition with german cars in 2000-2004 models.....now it can't come close to audis' mers' beemer's technology...they are safer and comfortable...not only that they look cool for any age group and filled with simple tech like hud,daytime running lights...thats why volvo has a itsi bitsi market share compared to german other than in jew countries

anyone comparing the s80 to an a6 is either delusional or has never even seen an A6. the s80 is about to be discontinued while the audi A6 has been beating mercedes, bmw, and lexus in recent comparisons
