@tjeerdypol I'll be frank with you, I am attending a professional course on this stuff and turning 20, so I'm still learning. I didn't know Havana Club was around the same price, so thanks for the info lol. Now I will add that to my home bar indeed, and I would also believe Havana Club is far better.
@tjeerdypol actually the other one was Captain Morgan, and i dont think even you would want to use a $80 bottle of rum in your drink. I mean, you can, and it would make any drink much better, but you wanna go with something a lil cheaper but not too low quality. Bacardi isn't that bad dood chill.
@wedacose havana club is roughly in the same price catagory and is far better at least that is my personal opion and the opinion of everyone i have ever asked
even though vodkas vary in quality and price, my personal opinion would point to NOT to go to extremes in purchasing
pricey vodkas would go to waste in cocktails and cheap ones would just render you blind
just the reasonable price in the middle would do
for me i would stock my bar with an expensive vodka which i would sip on separately with ice, and a cheaper (higher than supermarket budget) vodka to mix it with other stuff
Nice tips Moe-your the man!! this is just what i was after, i had already began to stock my own home bar because i received a cocktails book this Christmas, (thanks bro) i am up to seven bottles so far ranging from Jägermeister to kahlua. i just made a kaluah and gin (because ive heard that in a song somewhere im sure) strait up. im hooked. now i only wait to see what other delicious beverages are awaiting my consumption
To be completely honest, most people cannot even tell the difference between a $150 bottle of vodka and a $30 bottle. Just letting you know. I personally drink grey goose and have compared it to Absolute and really can't tell a difference.
this is true but for me absolut has the highest ethanol taste and smell compared to the others. some vodkas have less clinical tastes and are much more forgiving than absolut and others. vodkas that are distilled alot are easier on the system, less hangover thats another factor to deciding which is a good vodka and in my experience absolut fails in every category. im surprised people praise grey goose at £35/$60 a bottle its nothing but an emulation of rubbing alcohol, its terrible.
ican.... definately tase the differnce in svedka and grey goose... had grey goose one time, was smooth as hell... svedka, my usual vodka for getting drunk is real syrupy
sorry like, but "a coupleof good whiskeys" requires a little more imagination that that.
Also (if anyont is interested) Tanqueray Ten is well worth the extr cost to upgrade from regular Tanq! Especially if you can enjoy a cocktail or two... mmm Tanq 10 Martini shaken and served neat... yum!!! x
Cheers. Simple and great informations
