i own a few Enfields, and that one is definitely refinished. only way it could look like that is if it was straight out of a never opened crate. you can tell thats not a standard stock either because the top portion next to the bolt section on a original production has four indentations cut into it. and the cereal numbers were rarely whited out like that, they were stamped in for simplicity. Looks pretty but not worth the full value due to the referb.
the bolt action on these are just nothing short of perfect. I've got a 1942 that is carrying some battle scars, but I love shooting it and I love seeing them, especially in this condition! Thanks for the vid, these are some sweet ass rifles!
Refinishing this weapon ruined it's value. I have a 1918 SSA that all the #'s match the only thing that is missing is the butt disk... When I got it it still had Cosmoline on it, I would not trade for this weapon, but it is a nice shooter.
A wise scribe once noted, "The Springfield is a target rifel, the Mauser is a hunting rifle, the Enfield is a battle rifle." Even today, in this age of automatic assault and batle rifles, I would not feel outclassed carrying a good Enfield. Looks like one of the FTR (Factory Thorough Repair) guns imported awhile back.
@MonteLSV6 I'm pretty sure they can all be removed like that, would be tough to clean them or it would screw the gun if the magazine failed you'd have to get a new rifle instead of just a magazine.
@tier88m, Watch GunBroker. I bought a No. 1 Mk. 3 for 126.00 just last month. ALthough usually you will be charged a shipping fee. But still this is very cheap!
Hey guys, thanks for all your interest. this auction does end today, if you havent checked it out, there is a link to the auction in the description if your interested. best of luck
Oh, too bad. Enjoyed the eye candy though, beautiful rifle lol Hope you fetch a good bit of cash for that looker XD Even though there's so much work done on it, you have a very reasonable price on that link in the info panel. I was just about to place a bid but then figured I should ask about shipping first. Glad I did :P So I guess any firearm you post on here that's for sale can't be bought unless I head down there to pick it up, eh? :s I'll stay subbed anyways, you got a good taste in guns XD
but it would be funny if the rifle wasn't loaded and he fired it in his house though, then the police give him a little visit LOL

WTF are you talking about? The British are not the French... if it was a MAS-36 it may be a different story....

That's a nice looking rifle. If you know a lot about these rifles, I have a MkI* S 1942 with a 24C serial that I'd like to know more about.

That gun doesn't look genuine. It looks like it has a replacement bolt and reciever.
