Why all this fight about genres? IMO stuff like that doesn't matter at all. It's m-u-s-i-c and that's it. Some people like some, some people like something else. Why does everything have to be pigeonholed, anyway? A band is free to do what it wants with its music, if it does a song that's more mainstream or whatever, it doesn't mean it's suddenly "pop". There are bands out there that have different genres on their albums. What do you call them then? I still call them- music.

I didn't guess it I experienced all these visual kei stuff in facebook, twitter and all other places, these vk kids are also fan of idol groups and only talk of looks.

I know Matenrou Opera isn't that good but they do still use melodic death metal chords on some of their songs, like Dragonland or Firewind.

X Japan was all sorts of things, I just said they played power metal like Rusty Nail, they also played thrash and doom.

Visual kei bands do use different vocals but there are always different kinds of visual kei bands but majority are alternative metal where you hear those simplified melodic death metal riffs, while there are still ones that follow power metal and symphonic instrumentals.

The term speed metal is used yeah, X was all sorts of things they started as thrash just like helloween did in first album.

X Japan did play doom metal in IVY. They played all sorts of metal.

I can give non-biased opinion of bands, and although I really dislike newer visual kei, I still listened to it and I can classify them due to sounds they use, and it is usually riffs and solos that gives the sign... but yeah I do agree many of visual kei bands love to use too much vibrato. I do agree galneryus being compared to visual kei is ridiculous because you can just tell they are very influenced by stratovarius.
