Also, there is a yahoo group called pop-pop-steamboats where some pop pop types share info. Youtube errors when the group link is included in a post here.
Thanks for the info. The 1/4" tubing is easy to get. I cut the bottom off a Right Guard can a while back using my "Mircle Can" can opener that cuts can tops off from the side. Haven't experimented with this steel round bottom yet. Cutting can tops off from the side may provide some boiler potential from both the tops and the flattened cans.
A boat you can own and not get divorced! Add steamboat captain to your resume! A quick question, are the pipes 1/4" copper? Just curious as the engine seems to be producing a lot of thrust from just a single tea candle. Good job!
@zoomkatvideo very true! Yes the pipes are 1/4" O.D. copper, just happened to have some laying around, the bowl was made out of the bottom of an aerosol can, i believe WD-40, the diaphram is .002 thick piece of brass shim material from my local hardware store, thank you for the comment...josh
@CaptainSmog Yes i did soft solder it, it was my first attempt at a put put guess i got lucky from what i hear this is pretty good thrust, was a kick in the pants to build, my kids love it, take care,...josh
@PuttPutt4video thank you very much, this is my first attempt at building one, i was unaware pop pop boats existed until a week ago, i find thier simplicity and funtion truly amazing! I'm hooked, built another today, differen't layout, but still a diaphram style, i can see many hours of free time tinkering in the garage in my very near future, thanks again for your comment

Hi Great putt putt and looks like a lot of thrust for a 2 pipe motor. Did you soft solder it?

John.
